Came to see our cousin performing at Jojo's Hideaway. The food and service was excellent. We started with fried calamari and Brussel sprouts, and then ordered the chicken parmigiana, wedge salad, lobster ravioli. Finished with the molten lava cake and the Irishman, a chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and a caramel whiskey drizzle. The restaurant has a great setup with the main dining area and bar having the huge grill behind a glass wall. There's a large outdoor patio and a separate room for the music. The restaurant is in a very nice shopping center and plenty of parking. The only thing that bothered me was that they ran out of Ultra's and Coors light. How can a bar run out of 2 of the most popular brands of beer on a weekend! Besides that, I guess I'm willing to give them another shot. Thanks for your interest. read more

Here today for lunch. Atmosphere is nice kind of quiet. We're here today at 2 . Servers were perfect. Today for lunch we had the fish and chips, which I would say, they were excellent! The fish was very flaky. The batter was not thick which made it perfect. The tartar sauce is spot on. They said they make their own tartar sauce here. I can tell. French fries are crispy and tasty. Hubby had the bacon cheeseburger, and that thing was huge. He says it was very tasty. Lots of flavor in it. Also, on a sidenote, we had been to JoJo's Hideaway this past Saturday and we had lost our car key. Luckily, someone found it here when they were cleaning up Jojo's Hideaway, and saved it for us. So we were able to pick it up today and have a awesome lunch. Thank you so much for taking such good care of our car key. Everything was perfect. Came again for dinner again, this time for my mother-in-law's birthday. We ordered off the menu this time. They have a lot of fantastic appetizers. Mushroom Bruschetta, Brussel Sprouts, Chicken Wings, Avocado Bruschetta. This time I ordered the House Salad ($11) which has salami, mushrooms, cheese and house dressing. It was really good. Then I got the Roasted Chicken Carbonara ($22), not so great. On paper, this is my favorite pasta - prosciutto, peas, smoked cream sauce. It was not a Carbonara, the cream sauce was watery like they didn't drain the pasta well. Luckily I had filled up on tasty appetizers and the House Salad, so I took most of the pasta home. As leftovers it was slightly better since the sauce had thickened up and I could cut up the prosciutto into bite size pieces. Great service, lovely time with the family. We stopped by the grill for lunch today. I want be transparent up front. We are giving a great review because our experience was very good though to be fair we only tried their pizza. We shared a 12 in mushroom and sausage pizza it was very tasty. There were 8 slices which was plenty and the cost was $20. The crust was very good, loved the sauce and plenty of toppings. It's not a thick or thin crust which is what we like. We both had a beer and walked out with a fairly priced $40 lunch, I would recommend 17th street grill and will be returning to check out other items, fyi the service was excellent no complaints. read more

Service was awful and ordered a mango drink and they didn't have any mango. Stuck us in the back corner. Had asked to sit in a booth by the sports. Mgr said they were not available. Sat through dinner and the booth we had asked about sat empty. We asked about it on our way out and the mgr was so rude. First let me start off by saying this 3 star is NOT for the amazing bartender Alejandro. This 3 star review is for the owner of the restaurant. I have been to this place over 20 times, to sit at the bar and enjoy the company of the bartender, but every time I've made an appearance the owner has NEVER acknowledged me or my mother who comes with me all the time. It's hard to say this because we're in 2025 and you wouldn't think this would be an issue, but the energy I've got from him(the owner) it seems he's racially bias. Out of all the times we've been I've seen one other black person and that's it. So it seems there may be an issue with this. He can't control who comes in his restaurant, but he can control how he greets every single one of his customers. Let me add the food is pretty good, nothing crazy, but good. The timing was way off, our appetizers showed up with the entrées, even though we had a well-done steak. My food was cold, and half the potatoes and green beans were undercooked. Honestly, the whole experience was disappointing. I won't be back--fast food would've been a better option. read more

Hi, Today I went to 17th Street Grill for lunch. This is pretty much a non-descript restaurant in Tustin off 17th and the 55 freeway. There were two of us for lunch. We were seated in a half booth. As my partner sat down in the chair side of the half booth the pad on the chair top fell off! As we attempted to replace the chair the manager came over. We showed him the chair and said, "There are no screws in the seat." Obviously. Then he just rolled his eyes. No apology, nothing. As for the food, We both ordered the Cobb salad. Myself the large version, my partner the small. When the salads came. My salad was in a different type of bowl, but it was very obvious that my portion was actually smaller than the small version which was $4.00 dollars less! It's sad, as the salad was actually pretty good. But it was hard to enjoy it when you know you could have gotten a larger salad for $4.00 less! Before you say they messed the up the two salads, we confirmed mine was the large with the waitress. I hate giving one star reviews! But, in this case I really felt there was no other option. All I can say is, entering this establishment 26 times for the last seven months has been wonderful except, I receive no acknowledgement from the owner who looks at me everytime as if am invisible. If it wasn't for the kindness of Alejandro, the owner of this restaurant would have got one visit from me, and I'd never return. If you are looking for a local breakfast spot, I got you. You must try the pork belly benedict. A former menu item, this legend has stayed alive in the hearts and minds of regulars who refuse to allow it to fade into obscurity. The service is great, our coffees are kept warm and refilled often. The staff is attentive and friendly. We are never left hanging waiting for creamer, sugar or to go boxes. Food comes out quickly, or within a reasonable amount of time based on how busy they are. While I have remained true to my love, the pork belly Benedict, my husband has ordered most of the breakfast menu, and there have been no complaints so far. The restaurant clean, bright and comfortable. This local spot is a gem. If you are in need of regular breakfast situation, 17th Street Grill would be my first recommendation. Love the food. Had some amazing Brussels Sprouts + Calimari this afternoon for Happy Hour. Our bartender Alejandro was personable and attentive to our needs. Cheap Rose at $6.50 was a highlight for the wife. The kids really love the steak tacos. Their music selection here has been great lately, they even have a Morrissey cover band playing here in a couple weeks. Always impressed with 17th st grill. Flat out, this place is for the elderly and palm people. I think the owner runs the front because every time I go in there there is some grumpy (older) giant staring at me like "what do you want?" Idk who'd hire them and let them treat guests that way so they must be an indignant owner. This place has lost sight of hospitality with him at the helm and the food is devoid of seasoning. I have tried multiple items here and all were a miss. They don't have one or any chefs in the back, they have cooks who have experience but not making this type of food. This is a hard pass. The only thing they do well is wings. Anyone with an oven can do what they do to wings though and I'm sure if you go in the kitchen you'll find a bottle of franks. This place is mediocre and I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Hope the owner sees this. I just tried my wife's macadamia cake thing, tastes like straight up aveeno. My husband and I went on an impromptu visit to our friends house last night. We did a double date night with them here as they live down the street. We started with the brussel sprouts and chicken wings. Both were great! My husband and I thought they were really good wings and sauce (we have a thing for wings and critique them ;-) the only complaint we had is that it only came with 5 wings in the order. For our main meal we got the meatball pizza. I really had a hankering for pizza last night and this didn't disappoint! It was huge and we had plenty left over. Our friends got a shrimp pasta dish, they said it was good. One of the servers brought over 2 lovely, little bouquets of flowers in a mason jar and gave them to me and my friend. They had some left over from an event they had on the patio. So nice! We will definitely eat there again when we're in the area. read more

Came in today for lunch and customer service was not great. We waited over 10 minutes just to get drinks. And when we got our mixed strings, they were so strong that you could not drink it. I had water as well. Well, finishing my cup of water I noticed there was a bunch of black looking stuff at the bottom of my cup. Almost looked like sand. And my husband's cup also had a bunch of stuff floating in it. I believe it came from their ice. I told the waitress that is working the shift and she said OK. I'm gonna tell my boss don't worry about it. Don't pay. Of course we felt dismissed and we didn't wanna just leave without paying, but after that, she walked away and ignored us. read more

I've been patronizing this place for years. During the last few months, the food service in the bar went from poor to almost non-existent. Last night the servers took care of parties in the booths in front of and in back of us leaving the harried bartender to fill in. We waited and waited for him and the kitchen to prepare our meals. Same when we ordered dessert. After an interminable wait I canceled our order and asked for the check. The 2 stars are only because the food was delicious. My girlfriends went and celebrated Christmas fun here. What a cute little gem we found. Great food and service. I especially loved all the dog portraits that they had on the rear of the restaurant. Experienced this restaurant today with 8 of my friends. There was one server, the bartender, and a cook that I could see in the kitchen for Saturday lunch. We were seated, and given menus and water. That's when our trouble started. Unfortunately the server plus the bartender-acting-as-a-server.....were slammed with three larger parties besides us. So we waited for someone to take our order. And we waited 25 minutes.....crickets! I finally took our order for beverages........went to the bar.....and told the bartender. 10 minutes later.....we had drinks. Another 20-25 waiting for someone to take our food order. Finally, as we were deciding to leave........the bartender came an took our orders. Food was acceptable for some and marginal for others in our party. It took another 25 minutes after we asked for our checks to get all of them. These poor guys were not experienced enough to be running a restaurant......ever. Needless to say we won't be back. read more

Awesome place for a drink with dinner. Always enjoy our dinners and the service is always great. Our waiter Thaer recommended the Artichoke appetizer the last time we stopped in. So good we had to have it again. As you can see I attacked it fast and didn't take a picture until only 1/2 left ... Try it ! Wife had the Hibiscus Crusted Salmon on potatoes. We had relatives in town and they wanted Pizza. They remembered us getting take out pizza from 17th Street Grill and how good it was. So we ordered 3 large pizza. Not sure what happened but 17th Street Grill pizza wasn't even close to what we have ordered over the years. The sausage pizza didn't taste like sausage more of a ground meat taste the pizza was terrible and soggy for well baked. We got a supreme and it was subpar and soggy for well baked. My wife got her favorite over the years the artichoke pizza and it didn't come close to the old quality. All of us were very disappointed how far this place has declined. Sad. Never again read more

If you haven't already, you have to check this place out. In my opinion it's the only place in the Tustin area like it. Awesome restaurant, phenomenal drinks made by the coolest bartender Alejandro, and events like live jazz, comedy, Spanish guitar and other fun shows behind the curtain at the speakeasy. The owner Joe is a really personable host who seems passionate about serving the community and making sure everyone has a good time. Bonus! There's a really cozy bonfire pit in the patio to wrap up the night with the aforementioned delicious drinks and a good chat. This is a nice restaurant location: easy to access and plenty of seating. It is more of a casual restaurant but is still nice enough for a date night. They have plenty of TV's without being overly intrusive, so this really is a versatile spot for a game watch with a group of friends over pizza and beer, or a more intimate outing with your partner. I like that they do take reservations, but it seems like finding a table shouldn't be too difficult given the large space, but I think reservations will come in handy if you have a large party. We came here on restaurant week and I got the fish that was was cooked in parchment and with lobster and a wine sauce: definitely not something I would have expected from a joint like this and it was surprisingly really moist and flavorful. I may have to come back to get some pizza though and to watch a game: that seems to be the order of choice here! read more

Came here for a company lunch. We arrived right when they opened but needed to wait for them to organize the tables and seats even though we had made a reservation. Once we were seated, it took a while to order. There was only 1 server and 1 floater working even though they knew our large party was coming for lunch. There were other customers there too. We finally ordered appetizers and entrees. It was nice that all of our appetizers came at once so we could share. Also, all of the entrees came out together too. I ordered a pizza, half bbq chick and half supreme. It was decent. My appetizer was chicken wings which were actually deep fried pretty well. Looking around at the other entrees, the salads all looked pretty good. The food was decent but they need more servers. The only server was very nice and accommodating. Had some of the worst service ever here today. Waited to be seated, workers just stared at us, so we decided to go to the bar. The bar keep was making a drink and did not acknowledge us, same with the buser. Did not even try to offer us water or a welcome. I also just noticed the owners are just chillin not helping out, that sucks. Lend a hand to your staff. This place is going down hill and this will be the last time I come here. The food is getting progressively worse. It's not that they don't have the time, there are literally 7 people here. If you have 7 people in your dining room and you cannot even say anything to the patrons. I have been coming to this location since it was a Hoff's Hut, then Zito's, now this show. They are also too cheap to run the air and the poor bartender is sweating and trying to fan herself off with her little hand. So we went across the street to the 17th Street Grill. I had been here a couple of times before years ago. It was okay, not great, but edible. But today, the food was awful. The chicken was so dry.
