Manifestation of a perfect parking spot in DTO
    Omelina G.

Manifested the PERFECT parking spot directly across from Citrus City Grille so honestly the night started with a Mother's Day miracle. Started with the mezcal old fashioned and she was the real MVP of the evening. Smoky, smooth, delicious. I ordered the butter leaf salad -- light, fresh, tasty. Youngest ordered the brisket but wasn't vibing with the sauce. Oldest had the chicken which he described as "burned and gummy," but growing boys don't let details like that stop them from eating. We shared the crème brûlée which was less "crackly perfection" and more "creme broolay soup," but technically still edible. Disappointing overall as usually this spot is one of my favorites with consistently good food and generous portions at reasonable prices but not that day. Maybe the special Mother's Day menu was the issue. But at the end of the day, my favorite part was spending time with my sons... and the parking spot. Mostly the sons.

We're becoming a regular here and still love it. We had Joy as our waitress again tonight and she was such a sweetheart. Ordered various pasta and the rack of lamb which were all yummy, as usual! See you soon Joy!

Happening upon here was a happy accident. We happened to be in the area from picking up an item in Santa Ana and then Yelped another restaurant and tried to eat there. But when getting there at around 8:10 on a Saturday night it still had a 1.5 hour wait. Well having two littles that wasn't reasonable. So we Yelped and saw Citrus City Grille. And honestly?! It was wonderful! They were decked out for Valentine's Day. And we got to enjoy the pretty roses and balloons for it. The lighting was really dim but I imagine it was for Vday festivities. I had to brighten the pics of the menus because they were so dark without using a flash. Our server, Joy, was appropriately named. She was a delight! We ordered a Caesar salad, ribeye, and short rib. The ribeye was unfortunately pretty chewy. The short rib was truly phenomenal! It was extremely tender and just downright delicious! The Caesar salad was fresh and excellent quality. For the kids, we ordered them a grilled cheese with a side of fruit and an adult cheese pizza. The grilled cheese was what l would expect and my kiddo ate around half. Also expected. The side of fruit contained grapes, strawberries and apples. Which is a truly welcome change from the sliced melon and pineapple we usually see. It was fresh and l even ordered another order of it... The adult pizza had some flavor my son didn't like and after eating two bites, I agreed. I couldn't have eaten it either. I said it was an herb-y like taste but not rosemary and also reminded me of soap. It happened to be cinnamon, which I actually really dislike. So that tracked. I will say, my son has food allergies and I am thankful that cinnamon isn't among them but l also knew a dear former coworker who was severely allergic to cinnamon so I feel this unexpected addition to a pizza should be written on the menu. Just for transparency. I have food allergies all throughout my family but this never would be something I would think would be in pizza sauce. So I hope the owners do see this and make sure it's added in the menu somewhere. Joy was kind enough to take it off the bill since my son and I literally only ate maybe 3-4 bites of it We did order a dessert--chocolate soufflé and it was so fun to eat. I haven't eaten soufflé in years. Usually only really expensive steakhouses have them so it was super fun to find them here (that isn't a knock to this restaurant, it's a compliment to have quality food for fair prices, we don't eat often at the expensive steak places because honestly we cook better steaks at home). So especially for Valentine's Day, a soufflé was the absolute perfect dream to end our meal. It was fabulous. We ate it all. I hope next time we come the sticky toffee pudding is on the menu. Hint, hint . If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely come back here again.

Citrus City Grille is a great restaurant in downtown Orange. It is very large and even has a covered patio. I came on a Saturday, but it looks like Monday - Friday they have $15 lunch specials! Since it was on the regular menu, we asked if we were still able to get any of the specials (thinking maybe it was just a price difference). Our very kind server informed us that there were only 3 items there they'd be able to make. We asked if they could still do the BLT. He thought so, but needed to ask the chef. He came back and said they were unable to make it at all. We thought that was so strange, because they have a club sandwich on the menu that has all the same ingredients but just turkey and cheese added and 1 extra slice of bread. So, we asked if we could get the club and remove the turkey. So, it was basically a BLT! I'm not sure if there was some kind of mis communication or what that was all about. Our food was pretty good, but some of the bacon was nearly raw. The shoestring fries were an A++ though. Id go back just for them! Plus, my Arnold Palmer was perfectly sweetened and refreshing!

Citrus City Grille is one of those Old Town Orange gems that just gets it. Tucked along a lively stretch of the circle, it's the kind of place where the energy spills onto the sidewalk--in the best way. We opted for the outdoor heated patio, which turned out to be the perfect decision: cozy, vibrant, and prime people-watching for a great date-night-meets-friends or family night vibe. The food? Crowd-pleasing across the board--which is no small feat when you're dining with 10 people. Every plate arrived beautifully presented, generously portioned, and thoughtfully priced. There were zero regrets at the table, only enthusiastic fork-sharing and "you have to try this" moments. Not pictured were the tantalizingly tasty cocktails: pear drop, zombie-something and the blueberry lemon drop martini which were fantastic! The surprise standout was the soup du jour. A cream-based cabbage soup doesn't exactly scream excitement...until you taste it. Rich, comforting, and wildly better than its humble name suggests, it stole the show in the most unexpected way. Another highlight was the watermelon salad with grilled chicken--fresh, light, and perfectly balanced. Juicy, delicate chunks of sweet watermelon paired with feta, cherry tomatoes, and tender grilled chicken, all tossed in a bright, fruity vinaigrette. It was refreshing, satisfying, and honestly the kind of dish you keep thinking about after the meal is over. Between the delicious food, welcoming atmosphere, and unbeatable location, Citrus City Grille nailed it as a perfect family meet-up spot--central, charming, and surrounded by the lovely buzz of downtown Orange. It's the kind of place that makes you linger a little longer and already plan your return before the check hits the table. We'll definitely be back--hungry and happy.

Had a lovely "goodbye" dinner with my roommate after she moved out. We had talked about trying this place, and we are so happy we did! The atmosphere was very classy and felt high class even though we were dressed more casual. We shared a few appetizers including the bacon wrapped figs and calamari. She had the sea bass with risotto, I had the prime rib dip, and my fiance had the burger. We each had one or two drinks (very strong!) Honestly, everything we had was delicious. Our waitress was very sweet and helped us made decisions about our drinks and dishes. I forgot to take any photos, but we would definitely come again to try some new items!

    Meatloaf

My wife and I visited The Citrus Girl this evening expecting a positive dining experience, but were disappointed. Our server, Ava, was excellent; however, the kitchen fell short. My husband's meatloaf arrived with insufficient gravy, leaving half of it dry. By the time additional gravy was brought, the meal was already cold took kitchen 15 minutes to get gravy. When we asked to speak with a manager, Vinny, the General Manager, interrupted my husband with "calm down, sir," despite him remaining composed. Although Vinny offered to remake the dish, we were ready to leave. He did remove the meal from the bill, which we appreciated. That said, we were dissatisfied with how the situation was handled, particularly the manager's choice of words and overall conduct.

Vinny is very professional manager and so kind. I was amazed with the delicious food especially the wild caught Chilean Sea Bass fish with creamy asparagus risotto!! Highly recommended check out their happy hour only 10$ for the sashimi and ceviche

This review is for their Valentine's Day Celebration Dinner. 5 stars all around, especially for their service. Hubbie and I had celebrated a week early, and decided to stroll around Orange Circle on Valentine's Day. We decided to go early (around 4), and see where we can enjoy early dinner. When we saw Citrus City Grille, it lured us in with balloons, rose centerpieces and Valentine's Day decorations. They were so kind to accommodate us without previous reservations. I also loved that they did not have an overpriced prefix menu, but special Valentine's Day menu with delicious food items. I ordered their filet with Brie cheese melted on top. It was so delicious. We put in the chocolate soufflé dessert order in ahead of time, and it was so worth it. It takes some time to prepare, so always good to order ahead. And yes, it is worth the wait. Thank you, Citrus City Grille, for your excellent customer service, delicious food, and a memorable Valentine's Day celebration!

Came here with my husband on a Saturday morning for breakfast and they immediately sat us on the patio. Our server / manager was so warm with her service. We ordered the chilaquiles and house breakfast burrito. Both were delicious and we had a great view of people watching on the outside patio.

Came here for a lunch and evening was great from being greeted to our meals. Hostess have us an option either outdoor or indoor sitting. We decided to sit outdoor patio so we can people watch but also it was a beautiful sunny day! Sunday brunch was offer $59.99 adults and $25.99 children under 12. But we opt out on ala cart lunch menu. There was also bottomless mimosas I had the Greek Salad & Avocado Toast. The salad was refreshing and it came in a big bowl that I was able to share with my two girlfriends. Avocado toast was perfect with over porched eggs and came with potatoes. Both of my friends order the Steak and eggs, it was a good portion of slice steaks. Our waitress was very friendly and would check up on us. Definitely would come back and try their fluffy pancakes!

Multi culinary menu with choices featuring Italian, Greek, American and French cuisine. Wild Caught King Salmon Sautéed spinach, roasted potatoes, pesto sauce. I thought it was a brilliant pairing of pesto with the succulent salmon meat. A nice balance of tartness, zesty and neutral from the potatoes. It's also more volume than it initially shows. French onion soup (soup du Jour) Appearance is low key hurting. I mean, it looks like someone just microwaved it. This was confirmed with the viscous broth reminiscent of a packaged product. Tagliatelle Wild mushroom, thyme, shallots, marsala cream sauce. Fantastic mushroom sauce - not too rich and very flavorful. Roasted Beet Very nicely presented and prepared. An interesting sauce provides some contrasting flavors but the real winner here is the soft texture of the beets - almost cuts through like butter. That's all...

I wanted to share some comprehensive feedback regarding a recent experience, aiming to highlight both your successes and areas where further refinement could elevate the customer journey even further. First and foremost, I must commend your team for their exceptional warmth and hospitality. From my initial phone call to the moment I picked up my order, I felt genuinely welcomed and valued. This level of customer service, which often feels lacking in many establishments today, truly sets American Grub apart. It creates a welcoming atmosphere that significantly enhances the overall experience, and I sincerely hope this commitment to friendliness remains a cornerstone of your operation. However, I encountered a couple of points that, in my personal opinion, warrant consideration for improvement. Regarding the payment process, I felt a degree of apprehension about providing my credit card details over the phone. While I understand the operational need to secure orders and prevent potential losses, particularly for larger transactions, for a single item like my bacon cheeseburger, priced at $17.24 including tax, this practice felt somewhat disproportionate. I also noted the 99-cent fee for online payments, which, while minor, might deter some customers who are seeking convenience without additional charges. Perhaps exploring alternative secure payment links for phone orders or adjusting the fee structure for smaller transactions could enhance customer comfort and streamline the process. My primary concern, however, arose upon returning home. Despite ordering a bacon cheeseburger, I discovered the burger completely lacked bacon, as well as any form of sauce or mayonnaise. This oversight had a significant impact on the meal; the absence of these core components rendered the burger quite bland and far from the experience I had anticipated. When ordering a single item, the expectation for meticulous attention to detail is particularly high, as there are fewer variables. Consequently, the overall value of the meal, given the missing ingredients, was not quite met on this occasion. I did reach out to the owner privately via email to discuss these points, and I appreciate their responsiveness and transparency in addressing my feedback, particularly concerning the rationale behind the phone payment policy. It is reassuring to know that your business is open to customer input. My hope is that these observations can serve as constructive input, allowing American Grub to continue refining its excellent service and product quality. I remain a supporter of your local endeavor and look forward to seeing these aspects addressed. Thank you for reaching out. Finding a parking spot during rush hour will be difficult. Ambiance/Environment: They have a large space with lots of indoor seating and some outdoor seating. The inside is incredibly dark. Since my cousin brought her dog, we dined outside. They had a few umbrellas, but since the sun was setting, it didn't do much. It was very busy, so the wait time to dine inside was over 30 min. Since we opted to dine outside, we were luckily seated immediately. Service: I didn't catch his name, but thank you to the host who seated us immediately. He was really nice. Shout out to our server Elise for being quick and attentive. She checked on us a few times and refilled our waters. Throughput took under 20 min after ordering. Food & drinks: I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken and Dad's Mai Tai. The entree included baked & fried chicken thighs, drenched with hot honey Nashville sauce, and served with mac & cheese, green beans, and a biscuit on the side. The sauce was sweet and had a slight spicy kick to it. It made the chicken even more delicious. The mac & cheese was creamy, and the green beans were seasoned well. The biscuit was dry, and the butter didn't really help. I like sweet cocktails, but the Dad's Mai Tai was too sweet for me. The maybe extra shots of rum would've been sufficient. Pricing: I really enjoyed their dinner! Highly recommend the Nashville Hot Chicken entree! Prices are more than you'd expect, but it's not surprising in this economy.

Even though it's known for its beer, the food was surprisingly delicious. Our favorites were the Signature Ceviche, Chicken Pesto Flatbread, Baja Fish Tacos, Lulu Greek Salad, and Jambalaya. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. We also enjoyed the Mike Tai cocktail and the Hazy Love Hazy Beer. The service was friendly, and the restaurant was very family-friendly. Our kids enjoyed the food, and we appreciated being able to relax and enjoy our meal together. There is street parking available around the Orange Circle, and we were able to find a spot without much trouble. Free parking after 6pm. They also offer weekday Happy Hour and Lunch Specials, so we'll definitely be back to try those.

Not sure it's cause I haven't had a burger in a while or it's really that good! Highly recommend getting the BC burger and adding $2 for the fries but they said they make their chips in house that's included! We got some appetizers to share Wings- I didn't realized how smothered their wings would be in buffalo sauce but it's their 1886 wing sauce. I could use as a dip instead of tossed Guacamole- it comes with chicharrones! That was a nice surprised The beers weren't bad. We got a flight! A moderate amount of different beers to choose from Not a bad stop for old town Orange. Love to check out all the shops and restaurants near by! Interior is so cute and rustic. Waitress was super nice and knowledgeable!

I ordered their Topa Topa Burger, Okonami fries and a Dr Pepper to drink. We sat outside on the patio since it was a nice evening at the time. All our food came out pretty quickly and around the same time as we had ordered one after the other. My burger was delicious! All their burgers here are made from wagyu meat. Mine came with sliced avocado (pretty much half of an avocado) which was ripe, smooth and creamy. It also came with crunchy onion strings and their special Topa Topa sauce and of course some kewpie mayo and shredded cabbage. The cabbage was super crunchy and fresh. The buns were super soft and toasted perfectly. The fries were alright. The Okonamiyaki style was unique and the toppings were tasty. My Dr Pepper was a little too sweet, maybe it was more syrup than carbonated water. Overall the burgers here were great! I also got an order for my boyfriend later that night. Ordering to go was super easy. My boyfriend devoured his Spicy Miso burger. Service here was great as well. Would come back for the burgers!
