My home dryer broke today so I bundled a load of towels that I had just washed and came to dry them. Unfortunately, they do not allow a "dry only". I can understand this when it's a busy day of washing customers but all dryers were available. I'm disappointed in this local business. Pros: Open late and clean with fairly new machines. Cons: Way too expensive if you're just doing normal loads of laundry. It's great that they have big machines for families of 18 to wash all their clothes at once, but if you're doing laundry for 1-2 people the lowest priced washer is $2.75. That's for a washer that supposedly fits 2 loads, but I found myself cramming a standard sized load in there that I can wash in my building or at nearby laundromats for $1.75. The reason I came here was because the machine at my place was broken and my usual, much less expensive, go to laundromat down the street was about to close. My usual laundromat has the huge machines as well, but they still have some top loading, standard sized machines for $1.75 which is nice. Won't come back here unless I'm in a bind like I was tonight. read more

Totally bummed. This was my go-to place, but the last time I was there I had to switch my laundry into 3 different dryers because several machines kept eating my quarters, and there was no one around to see if I could get my money back. Don't like to say anything negative about a company, and other than this I have had a positive experience at this laundromat. So far this is the best one I've been to. Parking can be limited in the front but there's more in the back. Washers are only $2.25 (if memory serves me right) and only take 15 minutes. Dryers are $0.25 per 10 minutes. It's on the smaller side but washers and dryers have always been available. Kept reasonably clean. There's a subway, penguin's yogurt, and Video rental store all within walking distance if you want to kill time. read more

This is an addendum to the review I gave Coast Laundry last year. I gave this laundry a glowing report last September (2019) because I appreciated the cleanliness of the facility and the fact that it's staffed 24-7. However now, I must amend my review to include the following information for anyone considering this a top-notch service. The owner/operator approached me one afternoon in mid July as I was sitting at one of the tables and chairs with several shopping bags full of laundry to be done and had the audacity to tell me, "you're going to have to stop hanging around here or I'm going to call the police." I was stunned that this individual, who usually comes in mid morning and to that date had been kind and respectful, would say such a ridiculous thing to me. I could only surmise that he had confused me with someone else who resembles me and that he was having diffulty identifying me due to the mask requirements that were put into place some 5 months ago. I let this individual know that I was offended by his remarks and that as long as I was using the laundromat that his comments were inappropriate and greatly offended me. That morning I purchased laundry detergent and dryer sheets from one of the vending machines, as well as drinks from another machine. When I asked him if he was going to restock the bottles of coffee in that machine (as there was only one bottle left of a flavor I did not particularly like), he replied "no." Just minutes later, he did in fact restock the machine with more bottled coffee. Not only did I make purchases from vending machines, I also used the newly-installed massage chairs to the tune of $10.00. Finally, I must report the behavior of one of his staff people by the name of "Olivia." This individual walks around the laundry and follows people. She's done it to me several times. I have seen her mop one section near the front of the laundry for about 45 minutes, while looking at me and others. This woman is absolutely creepy. Not only that, but last year when I dropped off some goodies for the staff, she took the initiative to take all of them and put it in her car and take them home! If asked questions, this individual always looks at you as though she doesn't understand English, but she understands English quite well. All in all, I will not return to the wash in good faith, due to the disrespect shown by the owner/operator and this "Olivia." It should be noted that the entire remaining staff are very respectful and courteous and pleasant to interact with, but I have had it with the owner, who, by the way, was not masked during the time he was talking with me and moving back-and-forth between his laundry mat and his fitness center next-door, nor was he messed the previous months I used the laundromat. My current rating of Coast Laundry is hereby two (2) stars for customer service. The owner/operator should count his blessings that he has a fitness center where people want to come and congregate and work out together, because many fitness centers in many states have had to close due to the fact that people have found that they can exercise in other ways that don't necessitate a gym membership putting themselves at risk of being exposed to or infected with today's superbugs.. read more

This is very nice!!! And it got much nicer since I last visited this place years ago! A bit small and cramped but I don't mind that. I like cramped. Parking can be a pain but there's always a space. Since my last visit, everything is upgraded-the machines, the design, the look, everything. It looks new and clean and functional. No posts on a machine apologizing for being out of order and for the such hours inconvenience. And there's still an attendant keeping an eye on the store and washing them clothes dropped off. I read the other comments that groaned how expensive this place is. Bull. The most expensive one is the 3 load machine at $4 ($1.33 per load) and the cheapest is the 6 load ones at $6 ($1 per load) Just do your math. My only gripe is they don't have enough seatings. What if 5 people brought their books and wanna read in the laundromat? My wife and I have beautiful curves leaving enough room for just one skinny person. And it's so nice outside right now I'd love to sit outside by the store's front and read my book. I'd come here. Again. When I visit my family and friends. From Utah. Which is in the middle of nowhere. And cold. Ugh. read more

Ok I get the last wash at the Cheviot Hills location is at 8:30pm... but if you put your clothes in at 8pm you still need access in and out to finish your laundry. They have some of the best prices in so bay especially for fluff and fold. If you're used to fluff and fold they have unbeatable prices. I couldn't find anywhere else in so bay that had a similar fee. This is a great service that we don't utilize as much in the west coast but I highly recommend it. The girls will hand wash and separate your clothes according to what you ask for. They are wonderful. I always give them a separate pile for items that are delicate or cannot go into the dryer. This place and I have a love-hate relationship. Until I find a place that is better and still pretty close, this place will be my default place for laundry. Their laundry machines run for 18 minutes. Really. I worry if 18 minutes is really enough to wash everything thoroughly. However, every time I go, I don't see that many machines out of order, which makes it a dependable laundry destination. The place is clean, and there is enough room to fold. Their quarter machines take up to $20 bills. I am spoiled by this place cuz all other places I've been to takes up to $10 bills. I took a white quilt to this establishment. They had washed things for me before with no problem. We went to pick it up and there are yellowish stains all over the quilt. Obvisiouly it was washed with something that was another color and it bled. When I asked what happened to it Ele said she didn't know what happened. I asked for the owners name Romeo Santos. I called him and he said I didn't need to tell him anything because Ele had told him that I was abusive to her and made her cry. That is absolutely a lie. The least they should have don is to offer to redo it with some bleach and maybe it would come white again. This was definitely not the way to handle a customer whose $300 comfoter has just been ruined. Really bad attitude and customer service. Clearly I will neer go back and will tell others about their terrible service. read more

There seems to be a lot of creepy guys here lately. Maybe switching to a different day will help, but more than once in the past month I've just taken my laundry home without folding it because I've wanted to get the hell out of there. Why do I keep coming back? I can get all my laundry done in under two hours. That's a tough thing to give up. Don't ever pay to use the bathroom when the attendant is there. My boyfriend decided he wanted to wash all of the comforters in the house, but not before dinner at Black Bear. We Yelped a laundry facility that closed late and came here. It's exceptionally clean, quiet and, when we showed up, it was completely empty. There are only large capacity washers in this facility but they are reasonably priced. The 2-load washer us $2.50, the 3-load washer is $4.00, 4-loaf washer is $5.00 and the 6-load washer is $6.00. Drying is $0.25 per 7 minutes. It's pretty awesome if you ask me. I can't really give it 5 stars since really...it's just a laundromat. It's not like it has modern decor, comfy seating, board games/entertainment or a bar. Small very clean laundromat. I haven't been in one for years but I was impressed. Didn't seem over priced either.

We haven't tried other laundry services in the area, but so far we don't need to look for others. 18-Min laundry serves us well and cleans our clothes well. The ladies manning the place are very nice. We drop off our laundry and pick up on the same day, prices are also reasonable and quite cheap. Dark clothes don't get faded, clothes are soft and smells "fresh". They even take care of silk and lacey stuff. I hope the service stays like this throughout our stay here in redondo. read more

I was looking for a place I could utilize for laundry drop-off service during an extended stay near the beach. I used them once and they did a fine job. I will just say as a public service announcement that the cost has gone up since other reviewers have posted the price list. It is now $1.25 per pound, and they still have the 10-lbs. minimum. I gave only one star simply because I had to to be able to review. I had the worst experience at this place!! I spent almost $50 doing my laundry only to get it home and start folding it and find that it just didn't seem clean. I wasted an extra hour waiting for one load to dry as the first dryer the load was in was broken and didn't dry the clothes..I went at 6 am when it opened so that I could get in and out...that extra hour was one I really didn't have to spare. I used the fluff and fold service, and they lost some of my clothes. I still can't figure out how it happened. What's worse is, when I told them, it seemed like absolutely nothing was done. I still don't think they even looked for them in the other bundles of clothes that were there. Apparently the person who dried my laundry said that she folded everything and it all should be there, so apparently I'm delusional, and just like to make up stories about missing clothes of mine. I'm still trying to contact the owner to see if anything will ever be done about me missing several items of clothing, including the hamper bag I brought one of the loads in with. As laundry places go, this is one of the nicer...pretty clean comparatively speaking. The two staffers on duty doing fluff & fold service seemed generally nice and helpful. The super-sized washers were perfect for the job - large king-sized bedspreads - and cost $4.50 per cycle. This place has four of these over-sized units and, at 18 minutes per cycle, a person can be in and out pretty quickly. Convenient location WITH parking (yay!) both in the front and back. I come here once a week to do my laundry. Place is always clean and there is always an attendent working which is cool is case something isn't working. Minus one star for not having more washers cause it can get busy here, but it isn't that big of a place as well. read more

I haven't been there for awhile, but I had to make a comment about the bathroom charge but based on other reviews I figure it deserves at least a 4. As for as "the broken window theory" that someone else wrote about, this is by the beach in Redondo Beach, an upscale neighborhood and the place was newly remodeled a couple of years ago. The company that owns the lock (think it was called Nikolock will NOT sell the lock-I used to be a gf of the former owner) they will only rent it, and in the 90's it cost $10 a month, maybe the owners keep a bathroom as it may attract customers who want to go to a laundromat that has one, I guess they should just remove the lock but perhaps they keep it on, so when they are not there, people who are not customers don't use up their supplies.. The profit margin running a laundromat is pretty thin, and many running them are just small business owners and they have to supply the toilet and seat paper and paper towels, and a plumber when people jam the toilets so it's IS an expense. Oftentimes people would jam the locks with toilet paper, but ask yourself are you really that broke that you can't afford to spend .25 on the bathroom? It IS annoying to pay for a bathroom but if you don't, you can see why more and more small businesses will not have them available for the customers. As for the person mentioning the seating, they have an attendant throughout the day doing laundry AND the area IS safe with many businesses to go to nearby, so you do not have to sit around all day in the laundry because you worry about your clothes getting stolen. read more
