My washer went out so I needed a laundromat until my new machine arrived. I've used this business before when washing a comforter and had a good experience. They are located immediately next door to the new IHOP at Hawthorne & Torrance Blvd. They have coin change machines that accept $1,$5, $10 bills. They also have carts to use when bringing your laundry to and from your car. There are several different sized machines offering a good selection for what you may need. A standard clothes washing was $3, a larger washer for towels, blankets was $5.25. They also offer fluff & fold. The place is clean and I had a very pleasant experience when I asked for help when a machine wasn't immediately working. Turns out, the door was clicking shut. I came in to use a lg. washer but 2 of the 3 lg. 50 lb washers were out-of-order. I used the 80lb.washer@ $9.50. I also used several dryers to save time. The dryer that contained a full size mattress cover and a throw blanket apparently popped open and my items were still wet. I brought theis to the attention of the attendant who scolded me for not checking the dryer as my items were too large for an industrial dryer??? Two items?? This place has continued to decline. So uh... First one star in a while but here goes nothing. I showed up with my friend to do laundry at 8:30pm. The sign says last wash at 9pm, awesome! We walked in and the younger guy with facial hair goes "You're doing laundry?" We mention the sign says last wash is at 9pm, so yeah, we have time. He proceeds to tell us we don't, and that if we do try, we should only do one wash, so it all gets done... Huh?! He walks away and a lady walks by. "Don't let him bully you, just do your laundry." I watch him as he proceeds to use up washers by placing items in washers, and start them. As I type this, he's hovering to see how long we have on our washers and what we're doing. I oftentimes fantasize about having my own house with my own washer and dryer so I no longer need to scrounge up quarters for the laundromat. In the meantime, I'll hang out here. This place is one of the better laundromats I've ever been to. The upkeep is excellent and staff is always there, readily available to help. They really do a great job of cleanliness and making sure their machines are working and ready for use. Also, there's a ton of carts to help you with your laundry. This makes it easier to move from your vehicle to the machines. There is also a washing service they offer, you drop off your laundry and pick it up washed and neatly folded. I've never tried this service but wouldn't mind if one day I became super busy or lazy. There's a change machine, tvs, vending machine, and soap/bleach/softener machine, and one arcade game. Just the basics. Pay this place a visit, you'll be in and out within a couple hours depending on how massive your laundry day is. Parking is available in front and out back for easy access. I came into wash a big comforter, at the command of Signora. I found at Best Coin a whopping 55 gallon behemoth of a washer! For $4.75, you could wash half your closet in that thing. When I arrived, a gentlemen who turned out to be the owner politely pointed me to the correct machines. And a grandmother told me oh yeah, the owner is always here, and he's always helpful, blah blah blah, like that happens everywhere. Cool! It happens here so often they take it for granted. I needed to wash a ton of clothes from a camping trip and washing them here would be so much faster than at home. Prices here are fairly decent. It was $1.75 for the small washers and the larger washers ranged from $2.50 and up. Dryers cost .25 cents for 10 minutes. The place was clean and there were plenty of carts to use. There weren't too many people either on a Monday morning so I didn't have to wait at all for any machines. My clothes felt clean and I was finished with all my laundry in about an hour and a half. The two staff members I've asked help from have been impatient, unprofessional and rude. 1st incident- I got off work to wash clothes. Last wash on the website is 8. When I arrive the staff tells me I have to leave. I ask why? She points to a hand written sheet of paper in sharpie that reads "last wash 7". She proceeds to chastise me about their new hours I should've known about. I was too tired and left. Luckily I live close. 2nd incident- The washing machine didn't count two of the quarters. Before putting more money in and after trying to reset the count the machine then froze. I ask for help when A staff members rolls her eyes walks to my machine then demands I give her another quarter. She shoves the quarter in like she now has an attitude. The staff member turns to me huffs and says "It's working" as if I was lying and wanted to waste all of our time. She walks away but I then ask if I could receive my two quarters the machine didn't count. This was the $5 machines; So what reason would I have to lie about two quarters?!?!!?!? The staff member gets two quarters from the utility closet, feeds the machine, completely ignoring me saying thank you and taking off. Wow this place is convenient but customer service isn't good here at all. The owners are kind but their female staffers are horrible. I've been going to this laundromat for about 6 months, and I don't feel the need to try another place. I find on weekends or after work I'm always able to get in to multiple machines and dryers, never any wait times. What I like most is that they are always cleaning, constantly. Always wiping the machines down, including where the soap goes. Staff always seems friendly. Only thing I wish is they would upgrade to machines that are compatible with a laundry card or mobile app instead of having to carry around coins. read more

My apartment complex has 6 machines and 6 dryers and I was reminded for the umpteenth time a few days ago that washing more than a load there is fruitless. This is where Best Coin comes in! Back when I first arrived in the South Bay, I discovered this little gem while getting my lunch from next door at Seafood Port. I quickly grew tired of throwing away money via the above method and I started to wash my garb here. I've never had any issues with partially washed or semi-dry clothes when using THESE machines! Best Coin is super clean. The 1st time I walked in, I noticed the owner using bleach and a toothbrush to clean the machines and his wife sweeping the floors. Subsequent visits were greeted with the same cleanliness and the regulars have picked up on this and they continue to carry the torch. The obligatory change machines are to your left and they have a machine for every load imaginable including a bigger than life itself 55 pounder for the folks who are too fucking lazy to take care of their clothing needs during the month. IMO the best features of Best Coin are the TVs. They have DirecTV and if you ask nicely, they will happily change the channel and allow you to watch your sports in peace. Been going to this laundromat for a few years. The owners are very rude. I've seen them act this way with other people and after bringing a complaint to them today about a bad smelling dryer I experienced it myself. Before I put my fresh washed clothes in the dryer I didnt think to check if it smelled or not. After 40 mins I came back to retrieve my clothes. Upon opening the dryer I got a big whiff of what smelled like burnt rubber. I pulled out my clothes and the odor was on the clothes. I alerted the owner/manager and he proceeded to smell the dryer he said he smelled nothing. I asked him to smell agin and he said it was maybe because the clothes were hot. So he did smell something. But he blamed it on the "fresh washed clothes"... I fully expected for him to offer to re-wash and dry the clothes for the inconvenience but all I got was a bunch of excuses and complete dismissal of even the idea that the dryer might smell. On top of that he yelled at another customer that asked him to buy bags after our conversation. Guess he was pissed off. Safe to say that customer told me she's over their rudeness and won't be back and the same here. Also, upon checking for the source of the smell with the flashlight I found melted hardened gum and tons of hair riddled lint with inside the dryer. It was filthy dirty. Same for the washers. Check the machines with a flashlight before you use them! The staff us helpful and the complete opposite of the owners. They answer any questions readily and help with changing bills. read more

I went here to wash a blanket in their extra large, triple load washer. They have locks over the coin slots on each washer that don't quite line up with the coin slot built into the machine. This makes it hard to insert quarters. I force-fed two quarters into the first washer I tried (#50) and gave up. I was able to feed 14 quarters into the adjacent washer (#49) but it was a real struggle. I looked around for an owner/operator to try to get my lost quarters returned, but there was no one behind the counter. I'm an adult man in good health and I had trouble pushing quarters into the slots on these two machines. (There was no problem on the dryer.) If you have arthritis or weaker hands, you might want to try a different laundromat. Otherwise ok. It's nice to have a couple of restaurants and convenience stores in the same shopping center so you can grab food while you wait. read more

I always washed my clothes here and now the owner raised up the prices for the dryer again. Before it was 12 minutes for a quarter and now it's 5 minutes for a quarter. It's ok to pay that price if the dryer is hot and the door of the dryer is locked but it isn't. You have to spend $1.50- 2.00 dollars to dry your clothes depending on how heavy your clothes are. This laundry is OK it's not the cleanest and the machines are really old. One of the washers ate 5 of my quarters and it took awhile to find the mgr. Then a dryer ate 3 quarters and another blew cold air when I set it for high heat. Fortunately there's a laundry at my apartment complex and I only went here today to wash all of my linens and towels. The thing that bothers me the most about this place is there are no restrooms available for the patrons. There's sign on the bathroom door and I wonder how long its been there. Listen to Carlos K. He's smart like that. I do laundry in laundromats. I live in fourplex and we only have one washer and dryer. That ain't gonna come even close to the amount of laundry we generate every day. After I've written two reviews on Laundromats in my area, Carlos K. recommended this place. Hawthorne and Torrance seemed a bit far for me, so I have not gone there until today. And I regretted not coming here sooner. This is probably one of the hugest Laundromats I've ever seen. Plenty of washers and dryers. Also, I like the machines here soooooo much better than the other ones I've been to. Very high tech. Also, if you are doing laundry in cold water, you pay less. I've never seen that before, but it makes complete sense! I like dividing my laundry up when I dry. I've taken up to eight dryers at once before. I have to admit, that takes courage and balls, if there are other people around. Well, this place, I don't need balls to take up 10 dryers. Back to womanhood, yey! Also, I found out that this place is owned by this old Korean couple. That's one of the greatest part of this place. Why? Older generation Korean ladies all have one thing in common. They have OCD over mess. They love seeing everything squeaky clean. When I was folding sheets, a part of it touched the ground. Usually, I'd be freaking out, but here, I didn't even squint. On the way out, I did not forget to say "An-nyong-hi-kye-se-yo," which kind of means "take care." So no more laundromat tour on PCH. My favorite laundromat in the South Bay. I don't care that it's out of my way, I'm a nomad with my dirty clothes anyhow - I tow them in my backseat until I spot a good laundromat. The price for one load is reasonable, $1.25 and a dry is .25 cents. I usually put in two quarters for a good solid dry. Parking is easy and gas station is right down the way if you get thirsty. This laundry mat use to be my favorite. They are usually pretty clean and the owner is very helpful when helping you pick a machine. This year my experience has been unpleasant due to the cleaning staff they have. There is a man with a beard I don't know his nationality, he is always rushing everything. He puts more stress on you already having to do all your laundry. They never close the back doors until well after 9 it's 8:45 and he's telling me I need to move my car to the packed front parking. I think it's very unreasonable to make people feel rushed, especially when they are spending their money at the establishment. I probably won't be coming back here. The washing machine at my place was out-of-order, but that wasn't obvious until I already loaded my clothes, added liquid detergent, then tried to start it. What a bummer. Can't wait til the thing gets fixed - maybe days later, so off to the nearest coin laundromat. First time here and it was as expected. The place is large and clean. If the parking spaces in front are taken, f.y.i: there is parking behind the building. Top loading washing machines [10 lb. max] are $1.75 Front loading washers [35 lb. max] are $3.75 for cold water and $3.75 for warm or hot water loads. I spoke to the owner and mentioned that I had reviewed online postings of his business. The negative ones predominantly concerned a particular employee who other patrons found offensive. I am pleased to report that this Egyptian guy no longer works there. Regarding another negative posted review that the washing machine she used was dirty with sand, I have a logical reason why that may have occurred. Some people go to the beach or do other activities that really get their clothes, etc. soiled. So, these inconsiderate pricks intentionally go to coin laundromats to wash the sand out, instead of doing their load in their own washing machine. I would suggest to anyone concerned about being the next unfortunate user, to carefully look inside the washer and run your fingers on the interior drum to see if you feel grit. I have never experienced the aforementioned problem myself. Maybe I'm just lucky. The washing machine that I chose on this occasion was a clean, sparkling stainless steel drum.
