Line was long but the ladies were patient in taking orders. Smaller orders came out fast and the pretzel was the best deal there. Easy to find tables inside and outside was a bit of a gamble because the sun was fierce but there was a nice breeze. Big kids play area in a field so far from the tables. 50% of the people were watching their kids which I was not impressed by. You don't get a vacation from parenting. Hot food from the food trailer took a bit to come out but the girl back there was working her butt off. The orders were coming in in large amounts because groups of people kept showing up. It is made with strawberry and lime. One strange thing happened though. When went to pay for our flight ($12) and bought our bottle of mead - the girl put the bottle has her tip. (See photo) Our credit card company sent us a message asking if we intended on giving a 200% tip. This left me speechless. I would come here again but definitely look at my receipt before leaving.

The pizza is that cardboardesque version, but it was edible. The pretzel was decent, but definitely a frozen-to-oven situation. What we *do* want to shout out is the mustard it came with. It was SO good. We asked if it was homemade, and it allegedly was: so spicy and nasal-clearing and tasty. The mustard alone is what is pushing up from 3 stars to four! Bottom line: nothing crazy special, but a good place with friendly folks working and decent food and drink. Prices are consistent with the area, and it's certainly better than Mandito's and it beats the chaos of Royer's. We won't be back, but we're glad we tried it.

It was so good, we walked out of there with two bottles, their Kooper Family rye (our very…read morefavorite) and their Sweetheart if the Rodeo bourbon (90 proof blended bourbon whiskey). Both are quite drinkable neat. But we also had fun making old fashioneds with both, as well. At just $45 a bottle, it's a heck of a deal. So much better than most is the $50 to $80 whiskeys we buy. Plus, as an added bonus, the Kooper family is very hospitable, informative, fun to hang out with at the bar, and they offer nice tastings at a great price ($16 for three pours), which allows you to determine which bottle is your favorite. You can't get that experience or that level of service at any liquor store! If you find yourself within an hour of this place, you need to visit! While you're in town, checkout the big antique store in Giddiness and have lunch or dinner at Los Patrones. Giddings will soon become one of your favorite towns.
