Don't try too hard... What a joke. Here is your ridiculously priced salad. We went all out.

Scotch: $19.00 a shot. I'm not kidding. The menu is poor mans trash and outrageous. I attached photos. Waste your money somewhere else. Perkins is ten times better than this garbage.

Great food, great service! We stumbled upon this place spontaneously today. The restaurant was empty when we got there, but then again it was 1:30pm. We were greeted by a very nice host, who ended up being out waitress too. The manager even came out to greet us at one point, which was very nice of him. Overall, the service was excellent. We ordered the oyster po' boy, ham and cheese omelet and the crab, shrimp, and mussels flatbread. The omelet tasted pretty average, but the po' boys and the flatbread were really good. The po' boys had a nice twist to them; there were pickled veggies in the sandwich, which added a nice tang. The oysters were of decent size too. I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant if you haven't already or are in the area!

Another fantastic Mother's Day buffet! This year had a Spanish theme with plenty of charcuterie and artisan cheeses. The other room had several carving stations but my favorite thing by far was the bouillabaisse which is a French seafood dish popularized here in the states by none other than the the iconic Julia Child. This recipe did not disappoint. Lots of seafood with a savory broth. Yum! I went back for seconds! I almost forgot the desserts which were amazing works of art. The team at the 1863 certainly know how to craft an artful menu and deliver culinary excellence. I highly recommend a visit soon. You won't regret it! Oh..and Mom loved it too!

Very elegant restaurant with plethora of drink and food options. Tough to choose which is a good thing. Jumbo chicken wings, chicken and dumplings, prime ribs and nice salads. Also salmon and hummus.

Firstly, the water was amazing! Then came the bread with the honey, butter, and bleu cheese. With the exception of the honey; sort of tasted like it came out of a cask from 1863. The bleu cheese and butter was perfect to ease the hardtack they served with it, they are so authentic with the historic times of the battle. Then came the drinks. She ordered Tito's lemonade, was good. I ordered a double shot gin and tonic to be served in a tall glass. When it arrived, in a short glass, it was good and strong. The appetizer came, calamari, layered over a scanty dollop of marinara. The calamari was a mixture of chopped tentacles and baby octopus deep fried in some type of oil that clung tightly to the aborted babies bodies. We both ordered the filet mignon. It was an easy choice out of the whopping 8 items to order from unless you want a sandwich. FYI, I seen a whole table of sandwiches come out and they looked like a few slices of lettuce with deli meat with a whole lot of tackbread. The chunk of meat came with a scoop of mashed potatoes with asparagus and carrots also a small carafe of aus jus that had a lot of nutmeg swirled in it. We both ate the asparagus and carrots first. Not bad but really, you can't mess those up to badly. I ordered mine Medium-rare and hers medium-well. I cut a piece of the steak off and ate the tasteless, well above medium-rare, meat. She did the same cutting into her bleeding chunk of meat. We obviously realized that the waitress must have sat the wrong dish in front of us, so we exchanged. However, in the waitress's defense, we believe she was a little stoned and covering it up with all of the perfume that you could taste in the air. After we cut into the center of each we realized they were the same. Not well or rare could be found. The aus jus came in handy as the meat was in keeping with the tradition of the period food, tasteless, dry, the most awful "filet mignon" I have ever eaten. The mashed potatoes were slightly cold with the taste of instant potatoes, really. The water, butter, and bleu cheese were top-notch along with the drinks from the bar. Everything else, to include the service, wasn't worth a tenth of the $140 plus we laid out for this rubbish. I figured they can have this type of crap service / food because the majority of people are tourists and it's a "one and done". Get the tourist's money and tough luck on the quality. As for us locals that would love a high quality restaurant to frequent... this is not it by a long shot. PS: The attached picture is a rendition, not an actual photo, of what the bread looked liked to us. The hardtack.

I would suggest getting there right when they start seating if you're particular about finding a good seat. They do not show movie previews before the movie. We got our tickets online, however, when you arrive, you still have to go to the box office on the left after entering to get your paper tickets. They have snacks and beverages on the 1st floor. They offer a shot of alcohol in your hot cider or hot cocoa at the 1st floor concession stand. If you want beer or wine, you have to go to the concession stand upstairs. I believe the concession stand prices were a bit more reasonable than a normal movie theatre. The lines are long but they move super fast and the staff is phenomenally nice. We parked on the street and downloaded the parking meter app. They have a parking garage that is super close and I sort of wish we parked there. Will definitely return.

The theater itself was very nice with it's history, reminiscent of the small local movie theater I grew up with. Now the reason for only 3 stars was due to someone thinking that selling popcorn in paper bags was a good idea! During the first half of the play it was so annoying hearing the crunching and rustling of the paper bags. It's not like it was a movie that had loud speakers but it was during a play with live, speaking actors. Thankfully there wasn't anyone with in a few rows of us with popcorn. As loud as the bags were, I couldn't imagine sitting next to someone eating popcorn. Really a bad idea. Take away the popcorn or at least sell in cardboard tubs and the experience would have been sooooooo much better.

We both ordered pizzas, and while the center of the crust was a little on the softer side, the overall flavor was excellent. You can tell they put a lot of care into the ingredients and combinations. The first time we came here, last fall, we ordered pizzas for the table (there were four of us) and we all loved the food. Pizzas were bar pies and were pretty good (coming from a pizza snob). The drinks were a little pricey, but the service was great and we love the atmosphere. This most recent trip was not as good. We both wanted to try the bbq this time and were seated on the 'other' side. We were very confused as there was no BBQ on the menu, only to realize when the waitress came over that we didn't get the BBQ menus. We placed an order for drinks and looked over the menu, eventually we both chose a one meat combo - wifey ordered the brisket, Mac and cheese and cornbread and I had the ribs with baked beans and cole slaw. We also ordered an appetizer of hushpuppies. The sides were all fantastic...the Mac n cheese needed a touch of salt, but otherwise they were great. The hushpuppies were missing something-not sure if they put the sweet and spicy chipotle drizzle on them. Neither of us loved the meats. The brisket was tasty, but very fatty (yes, I know brisket has a fat layer, but this was very fatty). My ribs were a bit tough...again, they tasted fine, but they needed a little more time on the smoker (I'm not a fall off the bone guy, but the bite on these were a bit too much). Additionally, it too WAY too long for us to get our drinks...arrived about three minutes before our food was served. I'm sure this was a one-off, bad day, because I've heard great things about the bbq here. We're gonna stop in again next time, hopefully to bump up the rating.

I'm never enthusiastic about the bed facing the window instead of facing a side wall, because it makes watching the television a little bit more awkward. Marriott has tweaked this, by having the television on a slide out, so you can pull it forward a few inches, not much but a little, on drawer tracks, so you can angle it at least towards the bed. But you're still watching it in an unusual angle. People complained about the mattress. Honestly, it's no Westin mattress, but it's good. It's not as good as the one I have at home, and does not feel like it has much memory foam in it. I guess Marriott was looking for a specific price point. So why would I give this four stars? Simple.
