We have eaten here a couple of times. We came from Los Angeles for the shrimp ceviche that we've had before. Usually the service is pretty good also. Well they removed the ceviche from the menu stating that every 4 months they rotate the menu. Not sure what person decided to remove this item but we had thought we found our go to place but we won't be returning anytime soon. We've been here a few times now with our staycations to Pechanga, and it's always a great experience. The food and atmosphere are consistently solid, but what has kept us coming back is the service. We've had the same server a few times, Malayna has made the visits feel a little more special. She's friendly, has remembered little details of our orders, attentive without being overbearing, and just has a great, easygoing energy. You can tell she genuinely cares about making sure you have a nice dining experience. It's not always easy to find service that stands out, along with great food--and it makes a difference. Service from Robin was excellent! I was put off because when we first walked up the supervisor I'm assuming because he was in a suit asked if the drinks we had were from the casino. They were in glass cups with pechanga napkins that we got at the bar upon entry from the parking garage. Strange he would question us about our beverages, they weren't in solo cups or anything. Just really made the start of my experience at this restaurant sour. There are plenty of restaurants in the casino and even more Mexican restaurants in town that I wouldn't have to deal with this treatment. More specifically Mexico cafe down the street with better prices and larger margaritas. I'm planning on coming to try again because our server Robin turned it around but management needs to look at the way they treat customers! read more

Stop! You're better off getting the fried chicken at the food court for under $20! NO FLAVOR. Those would be the two words to best describe the food (if you know Mexican food). I was so looking forward to trying 1882 Cantina but sadly, disappointed. Even the cocktails were no bueno. Took mom for a belated Mother's Day dinner, because EVERY DAY IS MOTHER's DAY, right. She said, "el guacamole fue lo mejor" (the guacamole was the best thing). And, well, most of us can whip up a fresh guacamole any ol' time. I was craving a steak, but even the waiter was like, "you're not gonna get a good steak here, they cut it up into little cubes..." and this was how he sold me the most expensive entree on the menu. Obviously, I passed and ordered the skirt steak. Bottom line, you could get THAT Mexican food at many local restaurants. I expected a lot more of Pechanga, though. An elevated experience. Let me just say that 1882 Cantina should hire people that at least like their jobs . The hostess is supposed to set a great tone for the restaurant unfortunately we had a very bad experience. She was rude and told us that there would be a 20 minute wait when the restaurant wasn't full because we did not have a reservation so we went to the bar Bartender David ignored us. And the bar back was too busy moving things away from the bar to at least allow us to put in an order with someone I want to leave, but my husband and best friend wanted to stay seeing that it was my birthday. And I'm glad that I did stay things shifted a little bit, but the food was absolutely delicious. The ambience was great. In addition, it would've been nice for the manager to come around to the bar to see if things were OK maybe that's something she should add into her routine making rounds to check in on customers. read more

Ate here last night. The food was good but the service was poor. Took forever to get the drinks (beer and margarita). Then the food eventually came and both meals were wrong. Had to wait even longer to get the correct meals. By the time the waitress asked if we wanted more drinks, even though we did, we said no cause of how long everything took. While visiting Pechanga we wanted to eat dinner. It was a Friday night so it was packed. We stopped here and the lady at the front desk told us the wait was 2 hours. I saw various open tables. We left and checked out other restaurants that were full for tonight. I saw a sign in the casino about how to make reservations. Something told me to check the reservations for this restaurant and there were various spots still open. I made a reservations, we walked back over, and was seated within 10 minutes...How? I didn't like that. The restaurant is cute, they have live music, and it's a vibe. We ordered chicken enchiladas, steak tacos, and table-made guacamole. The food was great and authentic. First time dining at 1882, made reservations for my mother in laws birthday. The restaurant was tucked in a corner of the casino. So, it was a little hard to find. Once we did however - we were not disappointed. The hostess was super sweet - the ambiance was great, food was delicious. What made our night however was the service. Isaac was AWESOME. Super attentive, great personality and overall just made our night that much better. The "icing on the cake" so to speak was the birthday dessert he brought out at the end of our meal for my mother-in-law and she loved it. The best enchiladas of my life! I came here last week with my parents for the first time and I haven't stopped thinking about the enchiladas since I left. I ordered two chicken enchiladas with onions and red sauce and devoured them in minutes. They were so good. The onion flavor really set these off in the best way possible. We had asked for samples of both enchilada sauces before we ordered dinner so that we could taste them; the red sauce knocked my socks off. It had such a great smokey chipotle flavor that made it stand out more than the green sauce and it was so good. The chips and salsa for the table were really great too. Fresh, thin, warm tortilla chips and a really flavorful salsa that wasn't too spicy or sweet but just perfect. I will definitely be back for more of these terrific enchiladas. read more

Friends, It's has been a moment - I mean a long time - since I have tasted a dish that actually stunned me and made me remember the joy of tasting something familiar and yet, so new. The bluefin toro tostada at 1882 Cantina in the Pechanga Resort and Casino did just that for me. I had ordered the tableside guacamole and the ceviche which was and with rock shrimp and jumbo shrimp and I was appreciating the freshness of the ceviche when the bluefin toro tostada arrived. I ate the ceviche first and then brought the tostada close to me, an unassuming and deceptively simple raw sashimi dish, served atop a bed of cabbage beside three small edible flowers. Playing with my phone, I casually took the first bite. And my world stopped spinning for a moment. I heard my phone drop and clatter onto the table. I think I actually gasped and mumbled something akin to: "Oh. My. God." I was not expecting the multitude of flavors and textures that passed like love letters over my palate. The freshness of the thinly sliced blue fin, paired with equally thinly sliced avocado. The tender fish just slightly marinated in a citrus soy that tasted like ponzu. The texture of the crispy leeks and the brightness of the micro cilantro, topping the dish. The slight kick of the chipotle aioli which dressed the freshly fried tostada. And the slightest detail - the earthiness of the barely there sprinkle of Maldon salt over the dish, which really made it sing. Chef Timothy Krause has created something special with this dish, with all of its various components expertly swirled together to create a delicate symphony of flavors, and yet, each note sang on its own. We ate breakfast at 1882 Cantina inside Pachanga Casino this morning. I had the eggs and Carne Asada. It was cooked to perfection and the eggs the same. My wife had the rolled tacos and they were probably the best we've had in a long time. The server was amazing friendly with a bit of British accent. Very sweet and attractive but not overwhelming. The ambiance is old Mexican restaurant and serves. I recommend this place if you are ever at Pachanga. Sorry for no pictures. read more

This place never fails to satisfy our hunger! Located conveniently near the hotel entrance at Pechanga Casino, with plenty of parking. The asada plate is amazing, and honestly, everything we've ordered has been great--you can't go wrong with any of the options. They serve chips and salsa before your meal, and they're happy to refill it upon request. The service is always fast and friendly, with the staff greeting us with big smiles every time. We visited on 3/2/25. 1882 Cantina at Pechanga is located outside of the hotel, in the casino, very open space right outside. Lovely area of the casino, good lighting. Millie was our server. She was sweet and polite but was easily distracted. She helped us and then took off, didn't check back in. Strawberry margarita was delicious. I ended up getting two. I had to ask another server to grab the second one because Millie disappeared. We ordered the Steak Fajitas (added chicken), we were told it was enough for two but we annihilated it and were still hungry. I think it was designed for one, which should have been communicated to us when we asked prior to ordering. Overall, good food. Good drinks. Service was polite, but not too present. read more

Located in the Pechanga Casino and Resort, between the Casino and Resort Towers, you'll find 1882 Cantina serving some Mexican American faire. The restaurant is good sized and modern with some great lighting from the windows. The menu is not too large but there is enough to be satisfied by featuring items that should be familiar to most. I was dining with family and family friends this past holiday weekend and we were sat right away. Service was great by the wonderful staff. All in all everything was ok to good on this first visit food wise. Chips and salsa were ok, generous portions but the chips were not really warm and the salsa was slightly smoky but more flavor would have been good. The Huevos Rancheros were decent but it would have been better if the tortillas were a bit crispy. The beans and rice were just ok but the beans seemed a bit sweet to me. The rest enjoyed the traditional chicken tortilla soup, camarones costa azul (great), and the Americano breakfasts. Portions were proper and prices were good. read more

Our server Arian was the best! We enjoy dining out at 1882 Cantina for the food but today her outstanding service added so much to the experience. We went to celebrate a family member's birthday, while we were deciding what to order she over heard he wasn't feeling well. Within minutes Arian returned to our table with hot cup of tea, lemon, and honey. Wow, I was just blown away by her attentiveness, and she continued to give an amazing service throughout the whole evening. For our meal, we ordered the chicken fajitas, shrimp enchiladas, cheese enchiladas, surf & turf burrito, and endless chips and salsa. The fajitas came out sizzling hot and were served with rice, beans, guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo. All the necessary flavors for a great bite. 1882 Cantina is in an open restaurant partitioned off near the front lobby of Pechanga Resort and Casino. We had a reservation and were seated immediately in a booth per our request. Our booth was right up against the edge of the restaurant which had a great view of the lobby, so it was a great spot to people watch. There is also a separate bar area which has a small stage and there was a single musician playing some mellow hits when we were there. The complementary chips and salsa were very good. Mexican cuisine is my girlfriends favorite and she always jokes that she is a professional chips and salsa critic and she ranked both the chips and salsa 8/10. I ordered the Dulce de Sandia cocktail which was well balanced and had nice watermelon and chile notes. She had a rum and coke which was a little on the strong side. We ordered the Ancho Chile Seared Tuna Roll appetizer which was the big disappointment of the meal. The description sounded good and it looked nice but it had absolutely zero flavor. I ordered the Prime New York Alambre entree which was excellent. I thought I was ordering a steak but I was surprised when it came out in shish kabob form. Everything was cooked perfectly and there was a lot of different flavors on this plate. The tortilla even tasted fresh made and had a nice crisp on it. She just had the caesar salad with chipotle aioli dressing which she also enjoyed. Aside from the appetizer, the food and drink was all good as well as the service. The restaurant has a nice vibe and we would probably go try it again. Don't forget to use your myPechanga EasyDine food credits! Visited Pechanga over the weekend and was very impressed with the 1882 Cantina. Was surprised to see that they were open for breakfast/brunch. We were seated quickly and the service was excellent. This beautiful little Mexican Cusine is located inside the Pechanga Resort and is a part of the new tower side that was built a few years ago. Very trendy and modern looking yet a nice and simple menu packed full of flavors. The portions here are pretty decent as well so I decided to share with friends that way there's enough food for everyone. For starters I had their Mocktail Mangonada which was tart and spicy with the chamoy mixed inside of it. It definitely tasted less syrupy and more tart which was a nice touch to it. The Taquitos we added was a good appetizer as it had a nice soft crunch to it and topped with sauces that went really good with it. For the entree the Surf and Turf Burrito sounded great as it was a huge portion with green and red salsa splitting the burrito itself. One half of it had steak and the other had shrimp. The flavors were just right and I personally enjoyed the red salsa a little better. Lastly to end the course we had some Churros for the table. It comes with 3 dips of Caramel, Chocolate and Nutella. The churros were made fresh and I personally loved the Nutella with it. The food comes out oddly fast here as the taquitos and Burrito came out within minutes which was shocking honestly and I don't like my food coming out that quick cause it gets my mind thinking how that's possible, but it took literally about 3-4 mins for the food to come out. We came to Pechanga for the first time for a comedy show and wanted to grab dinner first. This place had the best reviews of what we looked at, and it was pretty decent - especially considering it's in a casino/hotel. It's a Mexican-themed cantina that starts you out with the typical chips and salsa. Was impressed with the salsa - not too spicy but full of flavor. The Surf and Turf burrito was DELICIOUS. The shrimp was probably the best part. It was served half-and-half with green and red sauce. The red sauce seemed more mole-based (which I'm not the biggest fan of), and the green sauce was creamier and delicious. The carne asada tacos were a bit bland and could've used more flavor. Definitely get the surf and turf burrito. Drinks were decent. The Ultra margarita was good and was pretty big. The Cervesarita was awful - the flavors did not mix well together and was super filling so not a good combination. I think only half of it got finished, and then was given up on. Super lively, open restaurant near the hotel lobby. Staff are kind and VERY efficient. A good choice when visiting Pechanga. read more

My mom was treated like a royal queen here on Mothers Day. We couldn't have asked for a better place to have Mother's Day. I think we will make this a tradition. My mom ordered the Mother's Day special, which was mussels. They were absolutely delicious. My husband and I shared the asada tacos and the grilled fish tacos. Both were great, but we preferred the asada tacos. My grandpa had the fried fish tacos, which were also tasty. The chips and salsa were yummy, and we also had a side of the chili lime vegetables. They were colorful and flavorful. We topped our meal off with sangria and champagne. My mom was also given a complimentary Mother's Day dessert. The ambiance is gorgeous, modern, and bright. While I usually dine more often at the other restaurants here--since I get plenty of Mexican food living in OC--every time I visit 1882, the staff exceeds expectations. This time, it was our server Malayna who inspired me to write a review. She was absolutely wonderful--kind, professional, efficient, friendly, and incredibly attentive. Her cheerful personality made the experience even more enjoyable. The food itself is always fantastic--beautifully presented and consistently delicious. From their taquitos and nachos to the ceviche burrito, chicken tortilla soup, and pozole, everything is flavorful and satisfying.
