Always a great vibe at 18th street! Great service with plenty of seating for both small and large groups. They always have the go to beers available as well as a few new ones every time I visit. Ive never had a beer that I disliked here, and the food has always been amazing. One of my favorite breweries in the area for sure!

My boyfriend and I went here for a date night and we absolutely loved it! The cocktails were incredible, service was fantastic, and the cheese curds were so well seasoned and delicious. I was so pleasantly surprised to find this place as I'm not originally from Hammond or even live near there, so this was a nice treat when we visited. I already can't wait for our next visit to this place to try more of their cocktails.

We have been here a number of times, however, this is my first review. I wanted to make sure that I added a picture. It's nice and dim inside and they do have a patio seating area outdoors. This is a great place to ride your bike to. They have a nice variety of beer and other drinks. They offer a House beer and shot of 18th St. distillery, rye whiskey for $7. They have the best poutine that I have ever tasted, but they no longer offer that. Last night we had the cheese curds which were greasy and had too much breading on them. We have always had friendly bartenders, and last night was no exception. I also hear they have a great running club on Wednesday nights. I'd like to check that out.

    beer and fries

I can't recommend the nachos because the liquid cheese was unappetizing, but the beer, burgers, and fries were great! Hence the empty tray. :) Service was somewhat erratic, but we liked this spot overall. Enjoyed playing cornhole after lunch.

    Getting Caught In The Rain

Yum. Had the burger and hand cut fries. The burger was flavorful and juicy. Also had a cocktail named Getting Caught In The Rain. If you like Pina Colada this is a next level delicious drink. I highly recommend stopping here for a bite to eat and a good cocktail.

Such a gem in Hammond! We have always heard of 18th streets beer but nothing beats getting it on tap. We stopped by their taproom which is also connected to their distillery. Make sure you walk through the right door, they're two separate rooms in the same building! My husband got the flight to try a little of everything. With their flights, you get to select 6 beers. They were all pretty good! We also ordered the ghost pepper burger with fries and the cheese curds. The burger was good, but the fries were a little lacking. The cheese curds were unique but good! We'll definitely returned for the beer!

Really great place, great bourbon and great food!. Bartender and staff have a great service and explained everything they do and how they do it. And last, the ambience is really nice and good music.

This is a super cool and trendy little spot in the neighborhood. Great for quick meetups with a friend or a first date spot. The drinks and food were decent, I think next time I'm going to try something neat instead of the cocktails, but the cocktails weren't bad.

I like this place and the beer is good but the menu is underwhelming. Also positive is the staff was super friendly and helpful and I love the atmosphere. Beer garden looks cool too but we were there in December. As I already said the menu is pretty small. We were there around open, 11 am or so, and they were out of the Buffalo chicken sandwich, the Cuban, and anything with pork. We are living in some crazy, challenging times so I'm sure there is a good reason they were out of that stuff but that makes it tough with an already small menu. We were basically left to decide between a salad, burgers, grill cheese and cheese quesadillas. Also fyi, pop comes in cans. The appetizers were good, small, but good. The curds were better than the pretzel in my opinion. Also, I loved my burger, adding the bacon and egg is is for sure the right way thing to do. My oldest didn't like the sauce on the burger but he's a teenager, what does he know. If you have an eater like that you may want to order without the sauce. The tots and fries were both pretty good. My youngers had the cheese quesadilla and I thought that was honestly pretty good and good size as well. Favorite beer hands down was Here comes the Reaper, but I also thought the Bait n Switch, and Vanilla Stout were very good. Definitely get yourself a flight or two, we'll worth it.

This place is a bit confusing since there are separate entrances for the 18th Street Distillery vs the Brewery, but I am only seeing the Brewery on Yelp. I had seen some of their cocktails on social media, so I was excited to give them a try. I met a couple people there, and we all managed to go to the Brewery side initially, so I was confused looking over the menu and not seeing the cocktails I'd expected to see. I asked the server, and she explained that we had to go outside and enter in the other door. I'm not a beer drinker, so I waited while everyone else finished their beers so we could go next door to the Distillery. We tried several of the drinks on the menu and enjoyed everything. It's really awesome to see a place like this in Hammond, and I can't wait to go back.

We were able to sit outside although next time we would like to sit in the windows of distillery.

They played good music and wasn't too loud. You could easily carry on a conversation or , like me, continue listening to a podcast. By the time I finished, the place was completely full and a bit noisy, but not bad. I started out with a 10oz Birds of Prey Pilsner. It was very nice. Light and crisp and very easy to drink. I followed that up with Melodious Maibock and ordered the CBG burger with fries. I didn't have lunch so I dove right in and forgot to snap a photo. It was a very good smash burger. It was cooked well and I really liked the combination of pickled onion and caramelized onion. I didn't see it until later but you can add bacon. As much as I loved this burger, bacon would totally take it up a notch! I started chatting with the bartender about their different beers and decided to have the Super Melodious Jalapeño Maibock with the burger. It's soooo different, but in a good way. It paired so well with the burger. You get green bell pepper on the nose and a hint of it on the palate. When you swallow you get a little heat at the back of the throat. It was so good! Great bar. Great food. Great beer. Go check them out!

Bar service can get a little backed up depending on how crowded the place is...one time I was there, the bar was so crowded that I couldn't flag down a server long enough to place a food order so, before I left, I placed my food order to go using the mobile route. Whatever, I didn't care. I'm pretty chill. Anyway, burger was still good when I walked it back to my hotel. When the place isn't slammed, service is like night and day and the place is a bit more quiet. Pop on in if you want to try some good beer, a tasty burger or other pub fare.

It's located in an old building downtown that has a couple levels. The upstairs is often used for private events like parties. If it's not available then it's hard to get a seat anywhere. The seats at the bar fill up, and there's only a few tables. It's about $7 a pint. There's a few of the more stronger ones that cost more though. Best one we had the last time was the 3 Amigos Imperial Stout. Full bodied and thick as a brick too. There's notes of ancho chilis, cacao nibs, cinnamon, and vanilla. Also got something to eat. It's $8 for the Bavarian Pretzel. Helps to absorb the alcohol. They also have chips and salsa among the food options. Got to add it to the list of breweries that seem to be everywhere in this city. I ordered the Smashburger because the server told me it was the best burger in town. It may have been the best burger in town because I have nothing to compare it to, but it was not good. It was the special for the day. It was $15 for the burger and fries. I ordered it without onions. It came with a lot of shredded lettuce and sauce between the bottom bun and the burger. I was not a fan of the amount of sauce that came with this burger. The burger itself did not have any flavor. It looked like there was some pepper in the meat, but I could not taste anything. The brioche bun disintegrated in my mouth after each bite. My experience with a bun like this is it was either frozen or it is stale. Not sure why the bun was bad since it was their special that day. I chose poorly with a burger. Every other time I went, I got the Yakisoba noodles with short rib ribs. Blockhead definitely delivered on the food and the vibes. It was busy when we arrived, but we were still able to grab a table for two on the patio. The host didn't seem too friendly, but our waitress made up for that with quick service and solid recommendations. Although this is a brewery, the cocktail menu had so many fun options to choose from, so I opted for the mango sticky rice cocktail (I forget the exact name). It was delicious! My husband ordered the Two Suns of Tatooine, which wasn't his favorite initially, but had a better taste after sitting for a while. For dinner, we tried a bit of everything! The Yuzu Butter Wings had a unique, craveable flavor, although the wings themselves were a bit fatty. The Crab Rangoon Potstickers were stuffed with real crab and just the right amount of cream cheese. If you like a classic crab rangoon, I think you'll really enjoy Blockhead's twist on it. We also split a few sushi rolls, which hit the spot! The Spicy Crunchy Tuna was my favorite, and my husband loved the Krustee Crab. Finally, we shared a bowl of the Night King ramen noodles. These were full of spice, very saucy, and topped with tasty short rib and an egg. If you're in the area and looking for a fun fusion dinner, this is the spot!
