Type place where you know what to expect... you get what you want and you know why you're there. (Probably not a salad) keep going, Brothertons! You make everything better when I'm feeling homesick. I think it's the wood paneling inside or the predictability of the broken doorknob to the women's bathroom. (if you try to lock it, you will most likely only be locking yourself in until your family notices you have been gone awhile . Have a good buddy watch the door for you) Tbh I've never seen the doorknob NOT "out of order"... now it's part of the charm of the joint... yep. Now you know. I have been ordering double-decker club sandwiches from Brothertons for decades because my father took me there and his father took him there. I like the turkey club double-decker with plain grippos potato chips (portion lasts me two meals) Recently tried their chicken and waffles, and it was actually pretty delicious. My other go to is a BLT double-decker on Rye add Guetta, fried egg and American cheese. I admit I come here hung over most of the time and it's perfect and I love it but you don't have to be hung over for Bretherton's family restaurant to hit the spot... you could also be really high. Service is always wonderful and consistent. Old school bar/counter near kitchen, tables and booths for seating options. Enter through the front for handicap accessibility.

Once seated, we were immediately greeted by our really awesome server, Raven. I tried the Catfish and Grits with a side of the classic French Toast. My friend ordered the Catfish and classic French Toast with a side of grits and eggs. Our food was DELICIOUS! Additionally, we learned that they served MIMOSAs. My goodness, my pineapple mimosa along with my dish plus great service and a vibe scene made for a really awesome first experience. I will return soon and often.

The lady that seated us seemed to be nice/ pleasant. Once seated our server Brandy came to our table gave us menus and walked away. Once we were ready to order she took our orders and we waited over 30mins to get food, the food came to each of us slightly warm or cold. And served 1 person, 1 item at a time. I'm in my 60's and my experience is that your table is served at the same time. Food for each person at the table comes so that you can all eat together. I ordered the 1st Lady, chicken, grits, toast. she brought the chicken with a couple items for others, 8/10 later she brought the grits, and couple items for others, later the toast. Toast was cold and most or all 7 of our food was cool or slightly warm. None if us had our complete order at once or at the same time. Nothing seemed to be freshly cooked. My chicken taste like it was cooked in old frying grease. One order was to go once we were finished. Brandy brought it out as if it was to be served with the meal that was ordered and it was not what was ordered. Brandy seemed to be too busy to serve us with time and attention. Over all this was a horrible experience. You only have 1 time to make a good 1st impression.

Came here for their Sunday brunch and it did not disappoint! Brunch doesn't start until 11am on Sunday and we arrived around 1140 and got a table for 2 without any wait! The hostess and our waitress were friendly and attentive. Started with a stacked Bloody Mary which had a slider, bacon, and a chicken wing! The bloody itself was tasty, though I prefer mine to be a little spicier. We got the Hawt Mess and Breakfast Poutine and both were delicious. The over easy egg on the poutine was perfectly cooked and the smashed potatoes in the Hawt Mess were crispy and flavorful. We will absolutely be back to try the rest of the brunch menu!

I get there at I get there at 11:55 in hopes to get the Coney fried burrito thing and they say they have brunch until three. Any normal person or restaurant would understand that brunch is not a thing after noon. I've been wait for 45 minutes on my food for just breakfast eggs and potatoes should never take that long and there was not many people in there then I watched multiple tables get served before me after they came in 20 minutes after me, my hungry ass came for the Skyline burrito and left with the filled stomach of poutine Fries. I'll tell you what it hit tho. Brunch til 3 but you can order wings???? WTF. Tommy want wingy

And the dirty gravy is very different- it's hard for me to put in words but it definitely tastes similar to your New Orleans style fish and grits. My only complaint about that meal was that there was not a lot of the dirty sauce. That's what makes the dirty catfish grits its meal so I wish there was more to offer in that regard. The dirty breakfast bowl was good with a proper amount of dirty gravy. My complaint here was that we ordered for the eggs to be scrambled but they fried the eggs. Not a big deal, but definitely check your carry out orders! The salmon croquettes were made very well. No complaints there. However, overall for this meal and the catfish grits- the grits almost taste like instant grits. But they do give you a whole lot of grits. The service was very friendly and welcoming. There's a couple of tables for seating but it's pretty much a carry out restaurant. I see the potential of how great the DirTy BreakfasT can/will be! I will try it again!

The hostess was wonderful and our waiter - whose name was either Jack or John; I just couldn't keep that straight - was perfect, answering questions, checking on us several times, engaging in just the right level of friendly conversation. We chose to sit on the bar side and I liked the atmosphere very much. The other side was pretty crowded when we arrived on a weekday around 1 PM. Food came quickly and was fresh and delicious. Soup of the day was a sausage chicken gumbo so I had to try a cup of that. Chunky, hearty and full of homemade flavor. My husband had the single grilled pork chop with vegetable of the day plus mashed potatoes. The chop was big and plenty satisfying. Potatoes were house-mashed, just lumpy enough with bits of red skin and an amazing gravy. He was very impressed that the veggies, including the carrots, were cooked so nice and tender. I had the Avocado Chicken Club which was perfection. I took the cilantro mayo on the side so I could apply it at leisure, and I also enjoyed dipping my parmesan fries in it. This was also an ultra-satisfying portion, in fact I decided to polish off the fries and took about half the sandwich home which was super delicious that evening. The roll was so soft and fresh - everything was super fresh. Although we were beyond full, the homemade dessert menu was impossible to resist so we took home a piece of bread pudding, which was, unsurprisingly, excellent. Convenient parking lot in the rear, just note there's no rear entrance so it is a bit of a stroll to get to the front door. BaCall's is quite a ways from my home, boo hoo, but we try to get out and about a lot so if I'm anywhere in the vicinity be sure I'll stop again. Winner!
