    Loaded Fries
    Doug K.

Had a nice time here for an afternoon beer and an appetizer. We got the loaded fries which were fantastic. We got the large order, which was definitely too much for just two people (see picture). They have a ton of seating. You order at the bar for food and beers and they'll bring you your order to the table. The beers were decent. Definitely not my favorite beers in Cincinnati but pretty good. I would definitely go back and try some of their other food items and some more of their beers.

Had a nice time at Gilligan's. Fantastic location. Right on the green. There was live music on the green on Saturday night. The place was clean and lots of parking. The food was really good. Fantastic fish sandwich. The loaded fries were extremely loaded. Loved the rueben rolls. The wings were good but wish they had more crisp to them. The bartenders were super nice and quick. There aren't waiters. You order at counters. Food arrived quickly. I didn't understand why it wasn't more crowded.

We had no idea what to expect and were pleasantly surprised with the beer selection, which provided at least 10 taps of West Side Brewery and Gilligan's Brewery beers. The WSB selections were what you'd expect from your typical craft brewery, whereas the Gilligan beers provided a good selection of English, Irish and Scottish beer styles. I got a flight of the Gilligan brews and enjoyed all 4 and decided the ESB was my fave. Food: They don't have table service, so you order from the bar. I ordered the Spice Bag, which claims to be a traditional recipe you'll find in Irish restaurants. He got the fish and chips. The spice bag was great! It's made with fried chicken chunks, fries, broccoli, peppers and green beans, covered in a curry sauce. I thought it was great and appreciated the generous portion of vegetables. He loved the fish and chips. The fish was nice and flaky, and he said the batter wasn't too greasy. The fries were also much better than we expected. We had some leftover and felt they reheated very well in the air fryer. All in all a great experience. We'll definitely be back!

Arrived on time for our reservation. Seated quickly. Our waitress was at our table very quickly and asked what we wanted to drink. We asked for a minute to go over the drink menu and food menu. They have a really nice selection of local brewed beers. They are affiliated with Westside Brewing Co., so they had some really good stuff on hand. Food! Well, we placed our drink orders and then looked over the menu. Pretty wide variety of items to choose from. My wife ordered the Shepherd's Pie. Very large portion, along with a single boxty ( sort of like a potato pancake). She only ate half but is looking forward to the other half for lunch tomorrow. I had the spicy fried chicken sandwich with slaw. Not too hot, but enough zip to give it some really nice flavor. Along with 2 boxty for the side. I will say, it was a bit noisy. I'm a bit of a sound geek (I am a sound tech so I have a db meter app on my phone) it was averaging around 80 db, which for a restaurant, is loud enough that you need to speak up in a conversation. Other than that, a really nice dinner. We are looking forward to going back and trying something else on the menu.

We made reservations and came right when they opened for brunch on a Sunday (11:00am). It may have been because we were there right at open, but they didn't seem ready to be open yet. The kitchen was incredibly slow and the service seemed frazzled. The food was decent, nothing special. The biscuit was not fresh. The space is huge, well decorated, and clean. I am willing to try them again later in the day or for dinner. We may have just caught them at a bad time.

Oh what to say... This place had so many disconnects for us. It is probably an entirely different experience in the summer when you can enjoy the lovely outdoor space. When you walk in, there is a large foyer with tons of wasted space and no ambience or a host/hostess. On the left, there is a huge room with a total 80's country club vibe. On the right, there is a dark bar area with concrete floors and and a weird "we're trying to make this a bar space" vibe. I made reservations, but when we walked in, there was no one to greet us, and we certainly didn't want to sit on the left side, so we made ourselves comfortable at a high-top in the bar. Our server was grouchy at first, but then came around and you would think she was our best friend. As a matter of fact, she was so casual that I thought it unprofessional. However, we appreciated her friendliness and she did give us attentive service. The food.....first of all, everything was WAY over seasoned. It's like Lawry's salt was sprinkled too heavily. That said, the mussels were meaty and cooked well. We would have preferred a white wine sauce other than a tomato soup sauce. The grilled buffalo chicken sandwich and the burger were great. The grilled chicken dish over vegetables was very good. The chicken breast was cooked perfectly - very moist and tender. The Reuben rolls were good, but they needed more cheese and sauerkraut. They are the exact same ones they have at Dingle House. The best thing we had all night were the onion rings and fries. The fries are coated and were so crispy on the outside and pillowy on the inside. Our server told us that there was a new chef that has only been there one week. The best part of the ambiance were the bathrooms. They are updated, clean, and bright. They would need to up their game on many levels for us to return.

Gilliagan's on the Green was a very nice surprise. Though this was our first time, the ambience was familiar. Those who live on the West Side know. Service and food met the standards we've come to expect at other EP Investment Group establishments. Now on to the food. The first time I had a boxty was at an Irish pub in Omaha. When I saw it on the menu at Gilligan's, I knew we had to try it. We started off with the Burrata Potato Boxty. Everyone absolutely loved it. I could make a meal of this dish. Our friends both ordered the Erin Go Bragh Beef Stew. The were thrilled and raved about it. Score! I ordered the Jonathan Swift Reuben, which comes in three sizes. I ordered the smallest, the Lilliputian, and took half of it home. I can't imagine the size of the Gulliver or the Goliath! I loved the the "Handhelds" came with a side. I didn't get created and opted for the Pub Chips. They were perfectly crisped and spiced. So very good! Mark ordered the Pub Burger with a side salad. The salad was fresh and refreshing and he loved his burger. I think I'm going to be going back to Gilligan's very soon.

Amazing new spot in the Wyoming area. This is in the old Station BBQ building. There's a full bar offering house taps, taps from Westside Brewing, cocktails, and beer cans to go. Plenty of parking in the street or in the lot behind. There's a regular dining room, a back room for large parties, and the side room that holds the bar. I suggest make a reservation for now since they are new and popular. Irish themed menu with plenty of options. Portions are large so they fit the price. There's apps, soups, salads, entrees, sandwiches, and desserts. I did not notice a kids menu. We got an app and 3 entrees, some beer and cocktails. All were delicious! The only negative remark was that the salmon seemed under seasoned and it's skin-on salmon, which my friend doesn't like. Otherwise no complaints! Service was good, and we didn't have to wait long for anything even though they were pretty busy. Would return

I was taking a trip back in time dreaming about my favorite restaurant in Wyoming where the brunch, lunch and dinner offerings were incredible - sadly, they went out of business - fortunately for us all the newest occupant of the historic space on the Commons is Gilligan's - The staff greeted us with smiles and recommendations of where to sit - we sat in the bar next to a window with a view of the commons - the tables were high tops and had stools that were comfortable - the weather was bright and sunny, the perfect backdrop for brunch - I ordered the Bangers and Mash breakfast - the sausage are sourced locally - I could've eaten a plate full of them bangers - the potatoes were seasoned perfectly, creamy and a nice complement to the dish - the experience was amazing and was made better by Matt - he was very attentive to our needs - and was very helpful when we had any questions! I am happy that we live so close - we'd like to try the dinner menu, drinks that look delicious, very nice wine list - I am happier that some great memories were made in the past and soon will be made in the future -

I am genuinely shocked Gilligan's On the Green has ever received anything but 5 star reviews. I would give 6/5 if I could. The majority of the food is made from scratch, in house, and it shows. Everything is seasoned SO well. Such spectacular Irish pub food. I ordered the potato & leek soup, boxtas (potato pancakes), beer battered fish and chips, and whipped potatoes. I would order every single thing again. The whipped potatoes would make the perfect addition to a Thanksgiving celebration. Be prepared when ordering that portions are HUGE. The soup comes with a boxta, so it's definitely a full meal on it's own. The beer battered fried fish comes with a huge piece of fish that is perfectly cooked, actually seasoned (sooo many places don't seem to add seasoning to their beer battered fish), and has the perfect ratio of fish to batter. My literal only critiques are that I prefer my tartar sauce a little tangier and the coleslaw wasn't amazing. Pro tip: Order a side of ranch for your fries. It's house made and has a lot of dill. YUM. The servers were SO kind and accommodating and checked on me several times. I am really excited to try more of the menu on future visits!

    Mussels
    Michelle D.

Pretty good. We had dinner here on Sunday evening. We were greeted promptly by a host and seated quickly. My husband ordered a beer and we ordered the Mussels appetizer. The appetizer was delicious! I usually prefer a white wine sauce with the mussels but the tomato sauce was tasty. A bit thick but it had a great flavor. My husband really, really liked the sauce. We both ordered the Fish and Chips. I substituted the Roasted Red Potatoes for the fries. I should've stuck with the fries because my potatoes were burnt and tasted of burnt oil - quite unpleasant. The fish is huge! It was fried well and the fish was soft and flaky. The breading was a bit thick but it had a good flavor. And we both liked the coleslaw served with it. There was so much food that we had to take it home. Did I say that the fish piece is huge?! The kitchen was really slow for not being busy. But I think there was a small party in the back room, so that left us sitting for a bit. I agree with others who stated that this place lacks ambiance. It was kind of dark and plain. No music and some tvs on but the sound down. Just kind of blah. We'll stop in again and check out more of menu.

The seating is family style with long tables. You can order via QR codes (meh) or walk up to the side of the bar for food and drink. The manager came around and introduced himself to everyone and was all over the place. Helping in the kitchen, bar, cleaning up etc.. He's definitely an asset because he didn't disappear as the rush started coming in. The inside is nicely decorated and I was digging their Voodoo/skull theme. We settled in and watched the 4pm NFL game on one of the large TV's while chatting with some disappointed Bengals fans and locals. Beer wise they had a nice selection of classic Voodoo brews (we used to get them a lot in the Philly area several years ago), a balance of styles and some newer brews I'd never heard of. If you enjoy the dark side of beer the Where Our Secrets Go Imperial Stout was delicious and thankfully more along the lines of the traditional style Impy Stout. I had an IPA that I can't remember the name of, but it had a nice Belgian yeast/hop twist to it. My son enjoyed their root beer. Food wise the Jumbo Chicken Wings, roasted in house hit the spot, I highly recommend them. I added their Good Vibes BBQ "Sawce", but you can get them dry rubbed or chose from several other "Sawces". The wings were big with fresh meat and the sauce was great. The Pub pretzel we ordered was huge and the good vibes beer cheese complimented it well. The Mr. Pickles Fried Pickles were also a great choice for an app. They were a big portion. My friend had the Chili Mac and my son ordered the Lil Mashburgers - 2 little smashburgers oozing with cheddar & chippies off the kids menu. We ate, had a couple of beers and enjoyed our dinner at Voodoo before we explored more of downtown Cincy. I'll be honest I wanted to avoid BrewDog and Voodoo and experience home grown Cincinnati breweries, but we were really happy we stopped at Voodoo. Thanks guys you earned a fourth star for great friendly service from the manager and bartenders!!

They brought our food all at once due to that, to include the appetizer. Service was quick but we only saw our "waiter" once to deliver our food. If we had needed refills, we wouldn't have gotten them. We didn't even get silverware and only got one appetizer plate. The ambiance was nice, it's a great looking facility. I probably won't be back though, unfortunately. Just not great enough to bother going again. We did have one beer off the draft list that was good. The dragons milk.

We were a tad thrown off with that since they literally had waiters and people roaming around, didn't make sense to me. But that was just the start! We decided to order nachos and a pretzel to start the meal. The pretzel was disgusting, hard and lacking flavor and the $14 nachos was a side plate with a small portion of nachos on it. I asked the server what was with the size of the nachos and he said he though they were normal. They aren't, you go to a normal bar and for $14 comes out a platter with nachos that are loaded. Then our mains came out, my wife's salad was gross, lacking flavor and with dry chicken and my burger was decent. For $90 this meal should have been WAYYY better. We headed up to the mezzanine and played some games while watching the 4pm game on their big screens. Food wise - we didn't eat here, but I can tell you from past BrewDog experiences their wings are always on point. Beer wise - They had a good mix on their 24 or so taps - IPA/Pale Ales (8 on tap), ciders (4), stouts & dark beers (3), lagers & pilsner (2), sour & fruit-based (2) and five beers for a community beer festival that was running that weekend. $1 of every pint poured went to charity. It was average with sweet pecan flavors, caramel, vanilla, toffee and tasted malts. Drank like a porter. It was OK which is what most of their beers are. Just above average in my humble opinion. From my experiences between BrewDog and Voodoo, it seems the outsiders are better options than the local breweries (except Northern Row they were good) in Cincinnati.
