Delicious food! This was the second time we've eaten here. Honestly, I didn't expect anything outstanding from a golf course bar and grill but the food is quite good, which is only surpassed by the view! Worth a visit. Speaks to the democratization of golf through public golf courses; no gatekeeping reservation needed, no pretentious culinary experience, no unique menu. You don't have to golf to eat, the food is decent quality, and dishes are appetizing everyday American fare. Expect hot dogs, sandwiches, soups, salad. Only had three people for Thanksgiving, and decided this year to let someone cook for us. Mistake. Well the good part is I did not have to cook it. The bad part, was that it just wasn't good. Turkey was ok. Stuffing was decent. Green bean casserole ok. Fish was very fishy. Roast beef wayyyyy dry and wayyyy over cooked. Mashed potatoes had an instant flavor, not creamy whipped. Sweet potatoes tasted like (well they most assuredly were) canned yams, no pecans. No marshmallows. Just yams. Frozen corn on the cob 1/3s, rolls were hard hard and the cornbread super dense and dry. Canned cranberry (the gelatin canned type ewww) and margarine. Salad bar was bagged lettuce. Salad dressing packets (think fast food packets) no cheese or any toppings except tomatoes for the salad. Very BORING, also had to tell the guy standing at salad bar that two bowls were funky dirty. Like food on them dirty. Food was just flat not great. Did we die? No. Our waitress was sweet. Just wish more care was given. We had two seniors and one adult with 3 teas for around 100$. Wayyy over priced. Oh and the pies were awful. Pumpkin was barely ok. Peach and cherry and apple was mostly flavored gooey filling with not much fruit and the crust was raw. Literally had a communal tub of whipped cream. Also a bit disappointed that they didn't require people to wear at least one glove for handling the buffet spoons. One adult ended up with a. Cold a couple days later. Tested negative for covid, but could he have passed it if not wearing gloves? Food for thought to be careful for others and self. Lots of senior citizens inside, so I worried about covid and the way things were handled. The back area had lovely views. read more

I love eating here. The view of the gulf course all green with trees makes me forget I'm in the desert. Our server was Randy. He is very outgoing knowledgeable and kind. Randy took really good care of us. We got drink refills before we even had to ask for them.. I got the Heavenly melt. roast beef grilled mushrooms and cheese with the zucchini sticks. Delicious. Myself and friend from the senior center did the *after Sunday church* eat and greet,her entree was the traditional Corned beef and Cabbage platter as it was St,Paddys Day. she said all was delish. tender and a good sized dinner. I had my favorite, a Bacon -Cheese Burger with all the fixins. Side eof French Fries. No issues of gripes.. Peaceful ,with families as well as couples enjoying their Sunday brunch. Price point in line with any other local dinery. (Chilies-Applebees, etc. The overall *manager very pleasant and attentive without being intrusive. Now for the gentle discomforts. Service weidly slow and slightly inattentive to the point of being Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! A caveat as she could have been brand new to the place ( a new hire) as the place was not packed as in way busy... And athe biggie, the BOH speed in getting out the entress was slower than need be. As a semi professional cook, line cook, etc unless the kitchen was understaffed, the overall wait from order to eating was not very good. And of couse there could have been out of their hands as to why the service and time wait was not very good.. This restaurant is located inside the Desert Lakes Golf Course clubhouse, and seems to be the watering hole for the golfers, but also serves a good variety of diner-type food at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Lunch is mostly hot sandwiches; the hamburgers are especially good. Dinner is more substantial plate such as chicken-fried steak, steaks, and chops. There is sometimes a lunch buffet and sometimes a Sunday brunch. The dining area is spacious, with a small bar, and a large banquet room in back. The restaurant is located next to the putting green, and when the weather is nice you can eat outside and admire the scenery. read more

I have lived in otero county for a number of years and never had eaten at this restaurant prior to today. For a first time customer I will say I was not even impressed Denny's is cleaner than this place and that says a lot for being at the golf course shame on you. The menus are so filthy and disgusting I bet they haven't been cleaned in at least a year and as far as the tables are the same. You have employees with nothing to do but they'll stand against the wall but they won't clean the table. That's a management problem whoever iThe food I ate I was sick within three minutes didn't finish my meal so no I will not be back. Now that I've eaten there I know what it's like thanks for the education you guys are one step above the greasy spoon yuck. Always great, friendly service and always clean! This is a great neighborhood place to eat and since it's walking distance from our house, perfect for a quick dinner on their outside patio. The view of the mountains and course make the patio awesome! My husband loves their jalapeño patty melt and sweet potatoes and I love the BLT. Their ranch is homemade and delicious!
