I went at 2pm today. Not open. Clearly awful business acumen. Only day open is listed as Saturday.

We are staying at the Desert Aire hotel and this food truck is currently right outside their office side door. The hotel staff recommended we go there for supper. By the time we got our car unloaded in our room and walked over, the owner (Lance) told us he just had a few items left and would be closing up soon. When we asked to see a menu for pricing, he told us it was on the house since it was the end of his day! When he gave us our food, it was heaping so full that we couldn't even close the lid on the takeout box! He accepted our sincere thanks and a little tip. When we got back to our room and started digging in, my goodness! So much food and it was all fantastic! Started off with 4 sausages... Half were the spicy kind and half regular. I'm not usually a big sausage fan, but the regular one was wonderful, dare I say it's the best sausage I've had. The meat inside was ground very finely, so there weren't big chunks of fat and things like most sausages have. I don't care for spicy food, but my husband liked those sausages too. The pulled pork was tender and flavorful. There were 5-6 pieces of pastrami which were so tender and full of a just slightly sweet flavor. The meal also included potato salad with tender potato chunks, and baked beans with just the right amount of zip. If we'd had room to eat more food, he also included three slices of white bread. What an unexpected feast we had tonight, and what a talented and generous business owner. Even if we'd had to pay for the meal, it'd absolutely be worth it. Great BBQ!! If we lived here, we'd definitely frequent this place. read more

What can I say? I am definitely a foodie and am glad to have discovered this magical BBQ. When you think of s PIT Master, this is what you should envision. Lance Aujus Gardner knows his game and has the skills to beat out the rest. I'm picky about my brisket and despise when it is so chewy your jaw hurts; this is not the story with his. I stopped by and was greeted by a semi gruff woman who I asked what he was serving. I didn't know how it worked, so I wanted to make sure they were not cash only. Being a first timer, I decided to go with the 3 meats to share. I chose the pulled pork, ribs and brisket. I do not eat BBQ sauce typically because I do not enjoy disguising the meat or the sweetness. He gave us two 3 meats plates . I took it back and explained there must have been a mistake. The woman let us know it was the bosses orders. Boy was I glad there was two plates, because I did not want to share. The beans were at the right spice. The rub on the ribs was fantastic. The roasted pineapple and peaches gave it the nice freshness, along with the coleslaw. Trust me, it is well worth the money you pay. I will never go to another BBQ place again.
