So glad we found this restaurant for lunch while we visited Alamogordo. It was one of the better lunch spots on our trip through New Mexico. I believe it is an old home that is converted to a restaurant, the old wooden floors are sort of worn and a bit uneven which gives it lots of character. We were told to sit anywhere and a server soon came with menus and took drink orders. She was all dressed up for the holidays with cute little floppy reindeer antlers on her head and an apron with snowmen on it. My wife was in the mood for eggs as we had skipped breakfast so she had an omelet, hash browns and cinnamon raisin toast. It was perfect and she enjoyed every bite. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with a side of their sweet potato fries which were crispy and hot from the fryer. The place is cute inside, lots of cute things on the walls like old photos, signs and even a big Santa Clause for the holidays. What's more I used the men's room and it was super clean which always tells me how good a restaurant is and that they most likely keep a clean kitchen! We would dine here regularly if we lived here, the food was that good! read more

The Sin Roll is the size of your head! Wish there was more icing for how big it was though. There were pecans in it as well in the center. The center was gooey and the outside was more crispy. The biscuits were the best. It was very thick and fluffy. The amount of gravy that came with the biscuits and gravy was definitely plentiful! The huevos rancheros was a little bland though. There is no doubt that this restaurant serves very delicious breakfast every single time. However our last visit was a very unhappy experience. We were told management does not allow substitution of bacon for sausage in one of their combination breakfasts. Not only weren't we told upfront, we were told in a tone of voice that was less than pleasant. Leaving us with the feeling that our business was not appreciated at all. read more

We tried out this restaurant based on yelp reviews. I usually only write positive reviews, but this was such a strange experience. We sat down and waited a while for our waitress. No big deal. But when she (I think it was Tristan) arrived, she didn't greet us, instead she sighed and told us how understaffed they were. Again, no problem. She took our drink order and huffed off. She came back later and had forgotten our drink order. We told her again. And again she told us how understaffed they were. She left and we waited more for drinks. It had been 20 minutes at this point. She finally came to take our order. When I asked about an item on the menu, and decided to switch from hashbrowns to country potatoes, she sighed and rolled her eyes. She ripped off her ticket and told me that she gets charged for how many tickets they use. We finally received our drink order and it was wrong. The food arrived and it was so bland. Truly your momma's cooking! When you walk in, you are allowed to choose your own table. The two waitresses we saw were very friendly and welcoming. My husband ordered us some chips and salsa. He said it was some of the freshest salsa he had eaten in a long time and that the chips were great. I had the special of the day, which was French toast with sausage. I ordered eggs on the side which were cooked to perfection. My husband had a ham and cheese with green chili's and within 5 minutes, his plate was basically licked clean. Stopped in for a hot breakfast on our road trip to Colorado. It's a very quaint place probably family owned & operated. The servers were very nice, not overly chatty except with the locals that they knew. The coffee was ok, not as bold as I like but good. I had their version of juevos rancheros with green Chile and hubby had a tall stack of pancakes with a side of bacon. I enjoyed the rancheros but needed a good dose of salt for flavor. If I was stuck in almagordo again would I consider it again? Possibly. I had the scramble. The potato's were good. The red sauce was horrible. The sourdough toast was good. My sister had the oatmeal and a side of eggs. She said the blueberry muffin she had was amazing. The oatmeal was of course just oatmeal. She didn't like her scrambled eggs. I found the potatoes needed a lot of salt-but, I like a lot of salt so that may just be me. The corned beef hash was a little fatty BUT the flavor was excellent & no salt needed. I will take a little fatty hash from SCRATCH over canned hash any day of the week. I have been to many restaurants before that advertise from scratch hash & it was from a can...this is not the case here! My eggs were cooked perfectly-runny yolks over the hash=heaven. I have been in Alamogordo almost a month & have been very disappointed in my restaurant choices-SO happy I found this place!!! I just wish they were open for dinner too! We were greeted and sat immediately which we always like, and brought two of the best cups of hot coffee two girls could ask for. Went into this restaurant and it took awhile for someone to tell us that we can "sit anywhere". We find a table and sit and a very rude waitress says "I set that table for someone"! I go " well she said sit anywhere" her response is "not a set table " with a terrible attitude. So why would I as a 2 person party sit at a table bit enough for 10 or at a dirty table! Use you head. Also how are we supposed to know to not sit at a set table? This place is disorganized and the staff is incredibly rude.
