I got a quote for a straight forward repair that turned into a couple month nightmare of difficulties made by his mechanic. Owner was far from accommodating. He was rude and blamed me and my car, claimed he didn't have the tools to fix it correctly, and after it was over, he held my car until I paid his very enlarged bill. After I finally got my car back it leaked oil. It had no problems except the thing it went in for. A lot of extras and no real paperwork to prove any of it. If you want to chance a repair at this shop, be prepared for a possible rude/hostile and untrusrtwrthy treatment of you and your vehicle. read more

Well update now, I got rid of the disaster they fixed for me. I had to get a loan to repair that truck they so call repaired for me. $3000 in repairs and still wasn't running right?? I had to get rid of it. Ever since Aaron left, this place went to shit! I would not trust the work from here anymore, Marco I think is the mechanics name. He's the guy that did repairs along with Karl the owner. My truck was falling apart after and they let me drive that crap work with my family in it. I do all my own work on my cars except for my Toyotas... Karl just finished the top and front end of my 79 Hilux and it is running better than it ever has. He has done the 4 to 5 speed swap, exhaust, headers, electrical and more. Karl and his team do the best toy work for the best price. Keeps my Old toys as the most reliable vehicles I have. This message is in behalf of my Husband Francisco as he is unable to write at the moment. Please read this before starting business with the owner Karl. Francisco: I called to order wheel adapters, I provided the size and the owner Karl instantly gave me unkind remarks. He questioned me about knowing the size before even him knowing the size. After he found out he was wrong he didn't even acknowledge or apologized. I asked him if the adapters came with lug nuts and answered with a smarta** comment.... Karl: "Just like cars come with keys, the adaptor comes with lug nuts". So I didn't even want to continue business at the point but I really needed this part in time and this business was the only one available to make it in time. I received the adapter today but with no lug nuts, when he clearly stated "Just like cars come with keys, the adaptor comes with lug nuts". So today I called him to advise him with the error, he then said "oops my bad, they don't come with lug nuts" Karl did not own up to his mistake and just referred me to other places. So as I was thanking him for being prompt on receiving the parts he hung up on me. Fast service but very bad customer service and false information, I believe if he were to hire someone else with better customer service he wouldn't have bad reviews.... see below, as most of his bad reviews are for his bad customer service. I had the best worst day of my life because of 1st Rock. While on my way to work the front wheel of my truck feel off due to a snapped bolt and a broken ball joint. Luckily Karl was driving behind me. He pulled over told me his shop was up the street and that he could take care of it. Without having another option I took a chance and was more than happy with the outcome. Karl as well as Grant and Marco are honest, resourceful, competent and professional. They work hard to get you back on the road without gouging your wallet. DO NOT let appearance of the front of his shop fool you. You're in good hands here. read more

I had bought a car with a broken window figuring I would be able to get it fixed and would be fine. This place made sure that my experience was as terrible and caused more damage than there initially was. I brought in my car because they claimed to specialize in window repairs. I brought my car there and left with it fixed with some damage to my door and my lock button being stuck. He gave me a business card with a written warranty for the next year. Within less than a half a year, the door started falling apart and the window broke again. We called them back and they said they would honor the warranty if it was their fault. Low and behold, they looked and it was their fault. They still charged me $50 for labor and gave me another warranty. Within the next couple of months, the entire car door started falling apart. I had to take the car to another place for fear of being screwed over again. The next place tells me that the repair was done with off market products so I am going to have to pay $600 just for the parts they need and wait for them to get it delivered. Will throw their stupid warranty and business card away and tell everyone I know this is the last place they should get their car repaired. read more

I pulled in to this dump by accident unknowingly at the time it was the wrong place and was immediately yelled at what I needed. I was caught off guard and couldn't remember the name of the dealer who had just sent me. He then also realized I was in the wrong place and continued to yell and tell me to back out (the lot is very very small and another car was backing out) I said you don't need to yell at me, so he then yelled back your piece of shit out of here so I did follow up with a fuck you. I don't judge a book by its cover but in this case you need to. The place looks like a dump junk yard and he looks like a pig. I did end up finding the right place and turns out this is not the first confrontation that has happened there. I had to give a star to comment there is not a choice for a negative. read more

These guys are the people you can trust with your vehicle to quickly and find any issue your having and fix it at a hourly rate the is best in town and the service u get is excellent. I brought my Suzuki forenza to them yesterday and they figured out the problem I was having and fixed it when all three of the auto shops including the dealer could not find there the noise was coming from.this shop will be my go to shop for all my cars and I will be telling all my friends about this place.Karl the guy that runs the place is very knowledgeable and and very friendly give him a call and he will get u all fixed up!!!!! read more

Great shop. I've rarely seen dedication like I saw from Paul. My 01 Silverado had a cv axle issue. Seemed simple at first. It wasn't. Paul worked and researched the issue, then found that he needed a tool. He went to get it and got in a wreck in the parking lot. Caved in his driver door real bad, thankfully he wasn't hurt. I figured we were done for the day and I'd be getting a ride home (yep, he offered an Uber or a ride) from Karl who had come to the shop and picked me up. Not this guy. Paul went BACK to the shop and FINISHED my truck. Two and a half hours after hours and a wrecked truck and he wouldnt accept a tip. Ten stars! Not only that, the billing was more than fair, I'd say generous. The repair of course was just right and working fine. I can't say enough about the dedication and quality service I experienced at 1st Rock. Top shelf performance! You'll need to call and make an appt with Karl, and if you need a shiny sign and a snack bar at your shop you'll need to look elsewhere. If you want your vehicle fixed right for a great price this is the spot. I'll be back! read more

These days it's hard to find a good, trustworthy mechanic that does quality work. But believe me, as a single female, Karl is the one we've all been waiting for. He comes across as a grizzly bear but is a true teddy bear at heart. When everyone else was telling me I needed a whole new transmission $$$$. Put a rear end in my truck that he god knows where then told me he could do it for 500.00, and he'd do some tradin on services. I stopped by on thevday he said that it'd be ready and dude acted like I had just killed his dog. Then his mechanics claim the couldn't get u bolts off so the had to torch em off, so now I get to buy new ones. Then the drums on the new rearend aren't the right ones orbthe rearend is wrong and he tells me I gotta buy new drums or different rear end. I have the original price and figure he'll do the service for service trade, wrong. He wants cash cause hes pissed cause I showed up with out an invite I reckon. I scrape up the money and less 90 days later its making noises again and when I check level of gear oil its way below. Guess what mr I don't text, I dont do emailsand ddon't come to my shop without asking, that rearend is screwed up. No. I doubt I ever use 1st rock. read more
