Great place with a huge selection of video games from old to new. Went in a couple weeks ago and was greeted by the workers of the store who were very friendly and helpful. I bought a copy of Pokemon HeartGold for cheaper than any place I had looked for it before, and it was guaranteed authentic (unlike a lot of eBay or Amazon sellers). Upon inquiring the prices of several games I was interested in, they were the least expensive compared to a ton of other retro video game stores I've been to. It seems they also repair consoles if needed. While their website is a little lacking, they constantly post on their instagram on their new inventory. This place is alright, not the best but OK. A few things here are pretty absurd to say the least. First; is the "return policy" You can only get your money back if the game is defective. Second; they ID you if you use a debt card or credit card which is dumb because I'm buying games not alcohol! Your best bet is Just take cash to avoid the ignorance and annoyance. Lastly; some games and consoles are super overpriced, literally over market value. What I find amusing is some games are already set price on them but some aren't. When I would ask how much a particular game was, the worker would say "let me ask my boss" mind you the boss wasn't in the premises so she was texting him apparently. When In reality, she was looking them up online & trying to sell over market value. Because Every time I asked about how much a game was she would always say "let me ask my boss". I picked a game that I already had just to test my theory and I was right. She told me the game was $45 and I told her "I can get this game for $10" then she was like "okay, I'll sell it to you for $20". Seems like they prey on the people that don't know anything about games which is a bad business motto. But to each is own. You've been warned! read more

Horrible service, they are rude and lazy. They act like you are ruining their day if you even try to show up and they can't even bother pricing their games, that and they keep trying to peddle you the knock off carts instead of the real ones to you. To the butt hurt people writing about customer service. Just a reminder that this is a damn video game store. If you think someone will walk up to you and follow you while you look at their millions of games then you are wrong. I came in yesterday and went straight to the Super Nintendo games. There was two guys working and one did acknowledge me but he left me to myself in looking for what I wanted. When the time came to help me out Angel was there to grab what I need. He was super friendly and gave me prices on items that did not have prices on them quickly and efficiently. When I was ready to pay he made sure my Super Nintendo cartridges were clean. I could see him cleaning them all with cleaner. I ended up purchasing 7 games and a price of 53 dollars you cannot go wrong. Their game system and selection here is second to none. Some popular Super Nintendo games are not in stock but is expected. They have all types of game s and systems at their store like, game boy, Saturn, jaguar, dream cast... You name it they have it for any system. I recommend this place to anyone who loves old school video games and new school games also. I don't know and can't comment on their repairs, which this store does, but if I as going to repair something as far as my system this is the place I would take it. Good job 1up. DONT BRING YOUR PS3 TO GET REPAIRED HERE!!! I brought mine 5 months ago to get it fixed, worked until the beginning of Dec. I brought it in again with my cousins PS3 as well and after TWO WEEKS of leaving it with them, I find out they haven't even touched it. The guy on the phone sounded really high every time I called to get the status. They always gave some lame ass excuse why they didn't get to it and that they would call me back with a status and estimate for both PS3's, which they never did. They say they open at 11am but they dont get there until 12 or whenever they feel like it. Plus they charge more. Don't waste your time here. Bad customer service. Shoddy workmanship. read more

My ps3 wouldn't play blu rays after only a year and a half of medium usage but that's another story. I know sony charges an arm and a leg to get it fixed. I called this place which was right around the corner from me. When I called the guy just answered "hello", I had to ask if I had the right place. When I asked questions, he just answered in monotone one word answers, no elaboration or nothing. I was here a few weeks ago, pretty awesome place! Very clean, the workers are great and knowledgeable. If you need a system repaired these guys are experts and they will tell you how long it will take depending on the problem it can be a few hours or overnight. If you want to wait theirs a bar "rude dogs" right across the street to your drinking convenience. I've been a collector of video games for about 10 years and I must say this place by far has the best prices when it comes to used classics. The prices aren't all ridiculous like in some places. I just went here today, and I really don't have any complaints. I called early in the day searching for a gamecube game that is pretty difficult to find anywhere besides online, and to my surprise they had it in stock and it wasn't an insane price. They put it on hold for me. :) I actually got to the store a couple of hours later, and they had the game waiting for me but I was still looking around and the guy helping me who I'm pretty sure was the owner, was not impatient at all and was very laidback and friendly. He seems really knowledgeable about older games. Some people might take him as being unfriendly, but he just isn't a bubbly gamestop worker. As for prices, I would say they're fairly decent! Not overpriced, in my opinion. The owner truly cares about gamers and he wants people to enjoy the older gaming systems as well as the new ones. He talked to me about how if I needed to find any games they don't have in stock, he'll mass text every game-seller type person to see if they have the game and he'll find it for you which I think is awesome! He won't even charge you extra for finding the game from someone else. Whatever price he buys it for, he'll sell it to you for the exact same price. When I finally chose another game I wanted to buy, he ran all of the games through a disc cleaner just to make sure everything was looking good, which I appreciate (because I probably wouldn't do that myself... haha) To top it all off, he said since it was my first time in the store he'd give me a discount. $5 off both games I bought, which I thought was nice of him. The only negative I can think about is that the place isn't super bright and it doesn't look like they have a lot (but they really do. They have more than what's on the shelves in the back.) The game store, has a great variety of games and consoles ranging from the NES all the way up to modern games like the PS3 or Xbox 360. Their prices are fair and also there will be certain deals going around. Recently, there was a buy 2 get 1 free PS2 games when I went. Also, he gave me a nice discount when I purchased multiple games and a free sticker (Pikachu) for shopping there for the first time. Lastly, they offer repair/cleaning services for game and consoles. Before you buy your games, they make sure the disc is in good shape. If it's not, they will take the time to clean the disc with their own machine they have in the back to ensure the discs run perfectly. Took my xbox 360 there to get repaired. It had RROD and a broken lazer. The guy quoted me $80 to fix. (A different place quoted me $167!) I went to go pick it up and the guy said "Yours was too screwed up. Heres a refurbed one for same price." The refurbed on was nice and shiny clean with an hdmi output -which mine didnt have. 90 day warranty too. I do recommend this place! read more

My daughter told me about this place, so I had to check it out for myself. I met the owner which is a very cool guy, and he had practically all the games that I wanted for my PS2. What I was really looking for was by Namco it has all the old games like Mappy, Pole Position, Joust, Ect... Not only did he have the game, but he has a machine there that can buff out any scratches on your old games like they're brand new again! Took in my 360 to get fixed, and although it broke a few weeks later I still liked their service. The who fixed it was up front with me and said he couldn't guarantee it because someone else had tried to fix it. I guess I gave them a four star because he was honest and didn't charge me what they would normally charge. They do have a lot of vintage video games tho. read more

Probably my favorite retro video game store of its kind. I've been to a couple others around the area and this one takes the cake. The reasons: price and selection. I've compared what they charged me to Amazon prices and it is very fair. They have tons of games for virtually every retro console and some hard to find accessories that I've only seen on the internet before. In fact, there is little reason now for me to order anything online anymore considering I can see and touch the item before I buy it and there is no need to wait to get it in the mail. The guys who work here are very cool laid back people. They really know their video games and genuinely love the product that they're selling. They treat their regular customers well and have given me some great deals on games in the past. Also, I know they do repairs, but I have not had to use that service as of yet. My only minor complaint is that the store is sometimes closed at the most random of times. However, I think it's understandable given that it's a small business that's still getting on its feet. Thus, I'm not taking away any stars. Just a great little store for what it does. read more

This place is your go to place for video games, whether it be a retro game that you're looking for or one of the newer generation games. You won't find another video game store within the area like 1UP. Your only other options are Gamestop, and they don't offer retro games. The owner, Joey, is a nice and knowledgeable guy and is very helpful when it comes service. The store has games, accessories, systems and offers system repairs. The prices for the games are reasonable, and they offer pretty high prices for your trade-ins. Their selection is great, but however there were some games that I wanted and they did not have, but that's understandable since they are hot items and are harder to find. One thing that I really liked is that they cleaned the games I bought for me, and I was able to test them out before leaving. Unlike some game stores I've been to, they were willing to barter and help give me some discounts since I did a big trade in and made a rather large purchase. I usually only give reviews when it is necessary. In this case, it is absolutely necessary. I walked in to 1up video games today around 12:30 in the afternoon. I was happy to see the variety and huge selection they had. I, in particular particular, am searching for Nintendo 64 video games to complete my collection, and I will pay for the items I need, which i found some titles at this location that I needed. As I browse around, I noticed they had a few titles for sale, including complete in box titles. I approached the clerk, who I assume is not the business owner, and ask him if he can assist me with complete in box Nintendo 64 games. I was willing to make a deal right at that moment. To my surprise, the boy behind the counter said "we dont have any CIB N64 games." I was shocked because I clearly saw that they had some available. I was so mad, but maintained my professionalism and walked out! I feel sorry for the owner of this business, because clearly, this person was working that day clearly didn't want anyone's business. I really like to support small businesses, but it's instances like this and people like this, that ruin it for small businesses. I'm a respected video game collector in the community, and it saddens me to know that place is like this clearly disregard that. Found these guys off of Craigslist when my PS3 stopped reading discs. They fixed my PS3 with a new laser and cleaned it all up (common problem with PS3s) at a great price. It only took about an hour, and I played their Streetfighter machine while I was waiting. The owner is an old school gamer, and he knows his stuff. Obviously some more popular games run higher $35-55 but for the most part games are under $15. They even have games for xbox360 and ps3 for decent prices (cod black ops 2 for example).
