When me and my buddy came in there was nobody working and so we waited for 2-3 min at the front. After nobody showed up we proceeded to just walk and go get a table ourselves. We weren't served until I waived down and employee to help get us started. Once we finally were being served(20+ min later), we ordered the mahi mahi tacos. They were pretty tasty, I'd say like an 8/10.. but the problem was that it was 3 mini tacos for $22... I mean they were good but DEFINITELY not that good. After the poor experience experienced from service and me really not feeling like I got my money's worth from the meal I probably would pass next time I'm nearby. I'm giving this a 3/5 however because the views are cool and even though I personally did not get a drink, I did see they looked good as well. In my opinion this place is probably more of a hideout and better known for their drinks than their food so I really don't think it'd be fair for me to evaluate them totally and only on their food. read more

I was staying at the AC hotel when I was told they have a rooftop bar that I must visit which I did and the views were amazing! They don't serve food only appetizers which I didn't mind as I'm not too big on dinner, me and my so decided to get the charcuterie board...and I loved the different cheeses and textures and flavors. We also tried a few diffrent cocktails which were also very tasty! Next time you are in San Antonio, be sure to give them a try. read more

About last night ...discovered a new upscale spot downtown San Antonio Tx on the 15th floor of the AC hotel. From the moment we checked in with the hostess we were directed to the restaurants own dedicated elevator entry and with little wait time it was up to the rooftop to one of the most spectacular views that San Antonio has to offer. Hubby and I had one of the most amazing experiences enjoying each other's company and taking in the San Antonio skyline. It was a beautiful evening that turned into a beautiful night. If you haven't checked out any of the rooftop restaurants downtown San Antonio you definitely need to check out 1Watson! It does not disappoint...atmosphere is amazing, libations/drinks were spectacular (I love a good smoky drink and my favorite was the "Smoking Gun", the other one was "Damsel in Distress", the food was perfect for an evening of conversation and just relaxation, and the service was very attentive. Amerishio our server was awesome! Be sure to make reservations to get your choice of seating; it'll be worth it whether you choose inside seating with their luxurious leather chesterfield like sofas, textured tweed side chairs, bolstered benches or the outdoor balcony high top seating mix. We chose valet parking but there are parking areas within walking distance of the restaurant. If you don't want the hassle of finding parking, valet park and text prior to departing and your vehicle will be waiting for you when your evening is done. Just moved here and this was our first stop in town with our friends and family joining us. We wanted to treat them somewhere nice and we couldn't have picked a more beautiful atmosphere than this rooftop! The charcuterie board was perfect and the bartenders made us some craft drinks that were FANTASTIC! Vic & Caroline were our bartenders at the bar outside & they were AMAZING! Be sure to ask for them. Honestly not super impressed. Went for my birthday and was shocked at the extremely casual environment. It was like a frat party on the balcony. All of the social media I've seen has really played it up like the other rooftop places. The menu was very limited and we were even told they're still budgeting to complete their kitchen. If you want to be ignored, this is the place to go. 2024 Fiesta we stayed at the Element, it was ok the hotel staff is amazing but that rooftop bar, so totally opposite. We went after San Fernando there was no one there maybe 5 people at the most, stood at the bar only to be ignored by the female bartender, never looked up as us never made eye contact with us, finally had to ask and only to be ignored again so the male bartender took our order but he was there also and never looked up. So when we checked out I complained to the hotel staff and they took my number and said a manager would call me back, haha never got a phone call. So this year we stayed at the AC Hotel and again the staff is amazing. Took some of our kids up to the 1Watson bar with hesitation but we still went we were greeted by a snobby host said everything was reserved, again not a lot of people there but ok, he said you can go get a drink at the bar and go outside to see the parade. Went to the bar and wouldn't you know it the same bartender was there stood in front of her at the bar and she never acknowledged me again, finally after standing there for a few minutes asked a waitress where can I get a drink, she said right here the bartender said right here, never looked up at me, then she decided to talk to a guy sitting at the bar that had already been served, she had a full conversation with him while I was still there waiting my boyfriend finally said let's go. What is wrong with this place why do they hire such incompetent people who know nothing about customer service??????? When we left I let the host know what a crappy place that place is and we never got served, he didn't give a rats ass cause we are nobody. What a joke of a place. So again I complained took my number assured me by management I would get a call back but again I never did. I'm done with these two hotels and there lousy bar, they suck and so does management. Never again. If you want good service go to the Drury plaza Hotel, their service is impeccable and they don't ignore you at the bar or make false promises. read more

Our server was nice, and unfortunately that's the only nice this I have to say about the experience. Came for a birthday party and the way they couldn't separate tabs is RIDICULOUS. The food was overpriced for small portions and not very good. Our waitress was helpful and explained many things. My husband and I came here for Valentine's. You can park in the garage next to the hotel/1watson. It's a very short walk (worth it). We made a reservation for dinner. The decor was beautiful and so was the ambiance. The bathrooms are great! Low light inside of them but it was cool. Dress code was dress casual but hey feel free to dress up because it makes you feel like you should dress to the 9s!! I loved it!!We had some drinks and food and it was AMAZING!!!!! I had The Thompson & Pretty as Peach, both great tasting, on the sweet side but my favorite was The Thompson. Hubby had the Smoking Gun and he really enjoyed it. For food...we had the Street Corn Skillet. It was Very good!! I must try! We also had the Taste of Texas Charcuterie Board and it was hands DOWN MY FAVORITE!!!!!!!!! OMG!!! The view was really pretty, you could see the whole city from the top but unfortunately we didn't sit outside because it was a little chilly. The inside is cool and modern with cozy tables and comfortable chairs. Their espresso martinis were amazing but the food portions were a little small. We ordered the charcuterie board, ceviche, and crab beignets to share and definitely could have ordered more food. Their menu isn't very big but everything else sounded good. Walked in with four people. Seated outside. Waited a rediculous amount of time for what was supposed to be a server to stop at the table and ask us if we'd been helped. He left and returned 5 minutes later and asked the same question. We're all starting to catch a bad vibe about this first visit. Hasselhoff and his buttoned down shirt brought three waters for four people and then sat down at a nearby table to chat with two guys. Obviously we bailed and spent our money down the street. We heard about this place and gave it a try a few days ago. Since it was our first time there, we didn't know it was for the most part small plates and drinks. I did like the atmosphere and luckily it was not crowded. My plate was the pork belly mini tostada and it was very tasty. The shrimp grits was just okay and the ceviche was good. What we didn't like about 1 Watson was that our server kept disappearing and we could not find her. We even asked the hostess if she could locate her. Update: After this review, and I hate that this is what it took to get a response, the ticket has been voided. Thank you. December 12th I arrived. Paid $20 for valet. The hosts were very nice. Very beautiful inside and outside. Decided to sit outside. Ordered some wine and some apps. Appetizers were very small and just okay. I'd say go for the drinks and views. Not so much for food. It got quite cold and was drizzling out so they allowed us to move inside which was kind. However, we did have to ask someone else because our waitress would disappear for long periods of time. Left a bit before closing. Went down to get my car from valet. People were coming out after me and receiving their cars before me. I stayed patient. Finally about 15 minutes later of standing outside waiting for my vehicle, the valet comes flying from up the street in my car. I'm ready to go at this point so I don't say anything. On January 4th I receive a ticket in the mail for my car being parked illegally in a parking garage that does not belong to AC Hotel (the hotel 1 Watson is located in) I had to call twice just to get in contact with someone that can handle this. I'm still constantly emailing Yaneth, the person that handles these things I assume, and still do not have an official update as of January 25th. A $90 ticket. Never again. Moon's Daughters at the Thompson Hotel has my heart and is the alternative I recommend as far as rooftops go. read more
