I wish I could give zero stars. Our meal here was a very bad experience. We waited over 45 mins to get our food, did not get our complete order and our waitress rarely came by to refill coffee/let us know how much longer the wait would be. The cook brought our food out, but did not even apologize for the wait! Would not reccomend and will not be visiting again. read more

Maybe I am bias because I go here all the time but, this place ROCKS! The food is so good, the corned beef is the best around made from scratch. The staff is great, they are funny and very attentive. If you require being fawned over, and told how lovely your blouse is and wherever did you get it, you might want to skip the Two Sisters. We stopped in after a walk through Gloucester for a cup of coffee and a muffin and were not disappointed. I felt like I was visiting my sister's house after a big party. Ask once, and not too loud, your order will come up shortly. Enjoyed the curmudgeonly banter between Sister 1 and regulars. The corn toasted corn muffin was excellent. Ordered the sausage gravy and biscuits with a fried eggs and hash. The biscuits were odd, not bad or anything, but they were cakey and dense; almost like fried corn bread. Being from Texas, that wasn't what I was expecting from biscuits and gravy. Anyhow, they used Italian sausage, which added a nice flavor. I have yet to find a breakfast place as good as this on the North Shore. I drive 20 mins almost every weekend to go here. I am a huge fan of the waffles .. not your typical Belgian style.. but made with an old fashion iron that needs to heat up... Patti is the owner and server on Sundays... she is great; a perfect blend of sweet and sour.... Always there with a good quib, the french toast can be made with many different types of home made bread.. even banana bread and as a gloucester tradition they serve kielbasa and two different types of potatoes; home fries or hash browns... I hate to be negative about this place. We picked it based on a local's recommendation and the Yelp reviews. The staff was friendly although she forgot to bring us water when we asked. Our problem was with the food. We both ordered omelettes with onion, peppers, and mushrooms (mine had sausage too). None of the vegetables were cooked at all and the sausage wasn't heated up either. They apparently cooked the eggs, dumped in the extras, folded it over and served it. Raw onions just don't taste good in an omelette.. maybe on a hamburger but not an omelette. If I went there again I'd make sure they cooked and sauteed the vegetables and meat. read more

we had breakfast here this morning and were happy we did. this place is small but tables turn over fairly quickly. regulars as well as newcomers are treated like family. the service was prompt and fun. i had the schooner omelet [portobello mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, cheddar] and my dining companion had a cheese omelet with chili. my omelet was delicious and chock full of fresh fillings. the cheese omelet with chlii was tasty and spicy. the home fries were delicious and made from red potatoes. they have a specials board that lists all their home-made breads and i chose the anadama, which was great - not too sweet and it had a nice texture. the menu is extensive and it all looks good. we were very satisfied and will return. read more

I've been here numerous times. I like it because it is small, neighborhood place but cash only! Just about everything is freshly made; crab cakes, yogurt, muffins. Portions large. Don't expect anything fancy like a latte or a glass for beverages and little would be considered "healthy." Be prepared to wait on a weekend as this a favorite for the locals. read more

I just ate here the other day with my in-laws, after attending my brother-in-law's wedding the day before. We had a delicious breakfast! For my in-laws, the highlights were the Portuguese Sweet Bread and the homemade corned beef hash. I had a typical eggs & bacon breakfast and it was super-tasty. We ate here this am while staying in Gloucester. Coming from New Jersey..the Diner state..I've never eaten better sausage gravy and biscuits! There were actually loads of delicious sausage over flaky biscuits! I mean..loads! The eggs were perfect, as were the potatoes. My wife had a western omelette that was delish. Chunks of ham, onions, cheese. The home made corn muffin was large and tasty. Lots of choices on the menu of this cozy breakfast spot. The server was very friendly, and the prices beyond reasonable. We always stop by Two Sisters when we come to Gloucester twice a year. Food is excellent and so is the service.

We have been going to Two Sisters for over 20 years! I have never been so disappointed. The new owners sent out shredded potatoes that was literally in-edible along with raw bacon and an omelet that was tiny and had barely enough egg to cover it. This place was always packed with a wait and today we got right in. Should have know. The waitress was over compensating and I have a feeling it's because we are not the only unsatisfied customers. What a shame to see such a great place go down the tubes. read more

Eating here this morning brought into focus what should be one of the cardinal rules of where you eat breakfast: never eat anywhere there isn't a loyal gaggle of regulars. And a counter. And a real counter: not one for show. I love Two Sisters! My favorite is their eggs benedict. It is the best eggs benedict I've had, super yummy. And I can never finish it all, so I bring home the rest and have breakfast the next day. The owner is super friendly and it's got a great small town vibe. I enjoy looking at all the plaques on the wall, it shows the owner's sarcastic humor and I absolutely love it! OH...it is important to note that they only take cash, so make sure you go prepared, otherwise you will be crossing the street and hitting an ATM at the convenience store. read more

This breakfast place is tiny and unpretentious but they make delicious, simple food that is not overloaded with grease. In addition to fresh fishcakes and crab cakes they make their own corned beef hash which is so good! I love their home-fries because they are not greasy. Some restaurants deep fry their homefries here which I can't abide. They have a huge selection of breads and muffins that are home-made. Their only option for celiacs are gluten free english muffins, but they are good. The waitresses have all been there for years and are about as Gloucester as you can get- no nonsense and slightly salty. If they like you they give you a hard time. read more

While looking for a coffee shop, this came up on my GPS. It looked like a delicious dinner and NOT a coffee shop, but I stopped by anyway as I really needed a cup. The woman at the counter handed me a regular cup of black coffee to go (no fancy coffee here); and although the cup was average, her manner and kindness deserves a review!! Yum. Gluten-free bread was a big plus. Recently my wife and I were both diagnosed with celiac disease. The thing that scares me about writing yet another 5-star review for Two Sisters is that people will want to come here. And then the lines will get longer. And then I will have to wait longer to enjoy the most amazing breakfast in all of New England. The homemade bread is the "Mmmmmmm" that puts you over the edge. Whether you like a nice savory omelette or favor a sweet carb-filled delight, this breakfast cannot be beat. Only a fool would skip this place after seeing all its reviews.
