10k for a new motor from Chevy with labor. I've finally had the time to mess with the car and we found all kinds of janky stuff done to it. They broke the vacuum line that goes to the passenger side valve cover from the intake tube and put silicone on it to fix. Also broke my fuel line and instead of charging me 60$ for a new one cause at 10,222 why not add 60$ they jimmy rigged it with zip ties and a rubber hose when it's supposed to be a metal hard line. And then ran next to my exhaust manifold. Either avoid or check all the work because at the price I paid I expected so much better then that. read more

I've been taking my vehicles to Juan for a while now. No issues. He's been wonderful. There are several negative reviews on here and I don't understand why. Maybe he was having some issues with his rapid growth? I don't know. All I know is he always been very honest, very thorough and reasonably priced. He's also been very straight forward about what he can and cannot do in a given timeline. He doesn't rush through his work either. I give him 5 stars because he deserves it. I don't recommend this shop. Not only are their prices unreasonable, but there is a chance they will charge you for work they didn't do at all or that they did wrong. I went in for assistance with my vehicle and was told the engine needed to be powerwashed/cleaned so they can better see the issue. It was very expensive. They supposedly did the cleaning then gave me a long list of repairs I needed done. I trusted my gut and took the list to a mechanic in Hayward the very same week. He fixed everything for 1/2 the price. Additionally, he told me he cleaned under my hood free of charge so he can see. When I told him it was supposedly cleaned a few days prior, he informed me that was impossible and it clearly hadn't been touched. The Hayward mechanic did what was necessary to successfully do the job. 2 mechanics is just not a trustworthy place. It is hard to find an honest mechanic. Unforruantely, people loose their humanity once money is involved. Luckily, I found a wonderful mechanic in Lathrop who will get the job done and do everything he can to save you money. There is still decent mechanics out ther, this just isn't one of them. Go somewhere else. read more

The owner of the shop told me that fixing will cost ranging from $55 to $110. I told fine. Please go ahead. After spending one and half, they came up with bill of $900 and said the wires are old, spark plug and coolant has added to the car and included diagnostic test of $110. They had a sign up that read $89.99 AC Recharge. My AC wasn't blowing cool so I stopped. He put the machine on the car, came back and told me he couldn't charge the AC because it was full and the fluid inside was contaminated. He said he could drain the fluid put new fluid plus oil and dye and that would cost me $260. A friend told me to try Speedy Lube. I went to speedy lube....they told me there was only 1 and a half pounds in the AC. They drain and filled it with 3 and half pounds of fluid +oil and dye and charged it...total cost....$159. I now have Ice cold Air with NO leaks. I believe 2 Mechanics Lied to me and was trying to over charge me. read more

I took my Jaguar Xk8 coupe here, because a friend of mine recommended me to Juan. My timing chain guide had snapped and pieces of plastic were in my engine and causing havoc. Anyways, from the get go, Juan was very straight forward with me and explained to me what he was going to do to the car and what parts I should get. The work took a little longer than I expected, but then again it was very precision and delicate work, taking the whole front part of the engine off and replacing all timing chains on both banks along with the tensioners and guides. I got the car back with new fluids, spark plugs, gaskets and the work done well. My car runs great. Thank you Juan. Now I need to get my Lotus worked on, I'm taking it to 2 Mechanics. Wow I can't believe this place still exists. Drove by and had to share my experience. Horrible lol. I had a Nissan truck, they "replaced" the transmission with an older one, told me it was new. Then the computer didn't read correctly(obviously). They insisted I got a new computer module yet they just tried fixing my old one and putting it with the faulty transmission. Paid $4,200.00. It took a shit 1 week later. They wouldn't refund anything. Many places in Tracy, don't fall victim here. read more

PLEASE READ: Juan was my go to guy, I spent a lot of money on repairs on numerous cars including my fleet vehicles. I trusted him. Looking back, I should have realized things were going south with a van issue he kept charging me for mis-diagnosing problems. I had like 5 things replaced including 02 sensors, cat converters, distributor and other sensors. I picked up the car 3 different times after Juan said it was done. Every time I picked it up I drove it a block and the problem still existed. It's like he never tested it, sad. He put a used $99 computer in and problem solved after spending $1800 dollars. He said he goes by what the computer tells him. Ignorantly, I trusted him. No refunds offered for the wrong repairs either. Me being a trusting fool, I hired him for another service. Having faith because he acts like your friend, genuine and a man of his word, I go back with a request for him to service my bmw 540i transmission which the dealer charges $750 dollars for due to the cost of the fluid, etc. He says no problem he's done them before and he will do it for $600. I'm excited that he can do it. I pick up the car after the service is done and throttle up to see how it feels, after 150 yards it immediately goes into (trans fail safe mode immediately) and the car stays in 3rd gear. I take it back within 2 minutes and he says. "Sometimes the tranny fluid changes break up all the stuff and the cluthes breakdown and they go bad" huh?! WTF!??? Lying with BS. I then ask him what oil he used. He says "Redline, it's the best, I know what kind of hard driver you are and Redline is what you need" What!!? I'm not a hard driver and Bmw requires the specific fluid that costs $45 a quart that's why the service is so expensive at the dealership. Redline is 10 bucks a quart, why did you charge the expensive service if that was used!? It should have been like $110 instead of $600. Now furious, I tell him that he needs to fix this ASAP, we argue for 10 days and it comes down to me finally telling him I will take legal action. He agrees to do something finally, he offers to get the tranny rebuilt for 2k by his buddy in San Jose who supposedly is a bmw specialist and Juan will eat the install and removal labor. He also wants a positive review for his kindness. Considering the 10 day battle, this sounds as if he's trying to right the wrong. The conditions of the service are that after the rebuild I will have no warranty because of the discount and only Juan must deal with the San Jose shop, not me. Hesitantly, I agree, but after waiting 3 plus weeks it's still not done, I call multiple times 6-8xs, he tells me that because it's a friend deal it's getting done as a fill in and he also said had to also wait for parts from Germany. So angry now, I can't even think straight. Keep in mind, I do not have proper seating to get my 3 kids to school either, so I'm stressed out. He knows this. After 4 weeks, he tells me it's ready. Excited, I hurry and go and get it and sign off. Guess what? it does the same fail safe mode immediately. Now FURIOUS, I go back and he hands over the rebuild money back and says there is no warranty, sorry. We have words, I leave. The offering of repairs was all a paperwork SCAM to protect himself. Legal work order verbage, etc. The next week, I drive to a local tranny shop and he said that he just worked on the same car. ??Huh, what?! What did you do to it I ask. He said "a flush and clean that's it". How long did you have the car I ask. "3 hours he said" Bottom line is he completely lied to me and the tranny never got rebuilt by his so called friend in San Jose, it was just a paper trail to cover juan being liable for the initial failure. He lied to me 21 times I can recall. He smiles as he violates you, the worst kind of bad guy. He held my car to cover his lie for a month. Call after call, I was desperate for my car back. The cause of the problem was the fact he used Royal Purple synthetic (per lab test I had done) as opposed to the required factory oil. He lied about the Redline fluid he said he put it too. There is a big sticker on the bottom of the tranny that says to use the factory oil or the tranny will fail, he ignored it. Update: I recently had stopped next door to his business for a smog and I couldn't resist bringing up the situation when I saw him face to face. I had assumed that having this review up for some time now he may offer a apology or something similar. When I spoke with him, he immediately took the position of no responsibility in the lies, dishonestly or anything to that extent. In his mind he does no wrong. By the end of the brief encounter, he was very combative and was blowing kisses at me while taunting me. Saying "what you going to do sweetie?" I was so angry. I really don't understand how people can be so blinded by their own egos. This man should be shut down. HE IS A CRIMINAL AND HE DOES NOT STAND BEHIND HIS WORK. Today's return visit to 2 Mechanics Auto Repair was, thankfully, uneventful. In fact it was smooth as silk. I showed up not long before lunchtime without an appointment but with a Lexus that needed an oil change. "No problem, we'll fit it in right now if you like." They remembered me from my last visit. About forty-five minutes later, I was headed back out the door. My car had been serviced and for a reasonable price. The shop used Mobile 1 synthetic which is a type recommended by the manufacturer. (They verified that before using it.) And, the filter cost about 1/4 of what I'd paid when at the dealership. 2 Mechanics is a nice little garage that is run by the owner and his wife. She handles the office work and he oversees the auto repair. I like patronizing small business when the owner is "hands on." The service and care taken with the work is so much better than at a high volume chain. And, it's vastly less expensive than work done at a dealership. True, the waiting room is a little spare and lacks the free coffee and tea I enjoyed when I last visited the Lexus dealers maintenance shop. I didn't see today's copy of the Wall Street Journal. But the room was warm, the chairs were comfortable enough, and I saved about $75. With that kind of savings, I can drink coffee at home and bring my own book. I'll definitely be back. read more

I am surprised to see such negative reviews on here but I haven't been here in a few years. In 2012 when I was newly separated with my children and starting over on my own and found myself in need of a major repair on my car. Juan was very caring and saw my struggle and worked with me and helped me out and I always think of what he did to help me and am to this day very thankful. He even let me borrow one of his cars while my car was being worked on so I would not miss work. To this day I refer people to him. WORST MECHANIC SHOP, WOULD GIVE 0 STARS They are out for your money! I was traveling down to San Diego, and my car broke down. I have it towed to the nearest mechanic shop (Two Mechanics Auto Repair). I SPECIFICALLY tell them "I believe its my alternator the battery cant hold a charge". I even have the part ordered before I get there. After telling me they checked the alternator and the battery the only thing that was needed was a new battery. They charged me $200 for the battery (knowing im desperate). Get back on the road... Breakdown AGAIN (battery still can't hold a charge) have to get towed AGAIN only to be told by a TIRE SHOP that my alternator is shot and it TWO MECHANICS would have just tested my alternator they would have seen it was done for. TWO MECHANIC YOU OWE ME $200 FOR THE BATTERY THAT ENDED UP GETTING FRIED FROM THE SHOT ALTERNATOR THAT YOU NEVER CHECKED. Also, the TIRE SHOP got me a battery for $99. I have been using Juan's shop "2 Mechanics" for years now, Jenny is not just a pretty face (really beautiful) but she is an extremely knowledgeable as she should be. They have taken care of all of my families cars for some time now. Both Juan's are top of the line mechanics and if they tell me a part is going to be a problem down the road and should be replaced, I trust that advice and if I can afford it approve the repair. I have a 99 Pontiac Grand Am that is in excellent running condition thanks to this shop. I have a hard time trusting anyone else now. This place is the ONLY trustworthy shop period! If you want to overpay for auto service, go there! They overprice everything!! We are new to Tracy & 2 Mechanics happened to be open on a Saturday that is why we ended up going there. I wish I would of done my research in Yelp first before going there. Juan charged us $110/hr for a "diagnostic" to tell us something we already knew was wrong with our car thus the reason why we went to his shop. According to him they MUST do a diagnostic to make sure what we are telling them is wrong is really wrong, wtf!! They charge $110/hr. for labor, regardless of how easy or complicated the work needed it's the same hourly rate, even for an oil change, doesn't make sense. Waist of money! We did end paying over $1K for a tune up, YES over $1K for a tune up on my 2007 Chevy Tahoe, smh!!! I tried to make him waive the $110 for the "diagnostic" of our other car since we had already paid him over $1K for the tune up in our other vehicle, and we knew already what was wrong with our car, but he refused! When my car was done, the mechanic told me that there was something wrong and that it would cost me 900 to fix. I dont want to know the specific part that needed work, but lets just say that when that area is cracked then you'll definitely know it. My car is always in the garage and its barely ever driven and I never find leakage from this "crack" that they all of a sudden found. So I go to another mechanic, an honest mechanic, and he says there was nothing wrong there to begin with. THIS PLACE, 2 MECHANICS, TRIED TELLING ME THAT THERE WAS 900 DOLLARS WORTH OF WORK I NEEDED! VERY DISAPPOINTED !!!!! I took my car there to get my Freon added to my A/C. They told me I had a leak in one of the tubes and that I needed to replace the tube that connects to the A/C system. They quoted me a price of $420.00 with a 20% percent discount for the repairs. SOMETHING DID NOT SEEM RIGHT!!!!! I took my car to another body shop (Super Lube Plus) and they discovered that the O-ring in the tube was broken and that was the only thing that needed to be replaced. After replacing the O-ring and adding my Freon, my bill was only $130. $130.00 compared to $420 dollars makes me question the integrity of 2 Mechanics and the quality of work they are doing. Overall I don't feel this place has the best interest of it's customers. I believe this place was just trying to rip me off for work that didn't need doing. I recently had my car towed here and was told I wasnt going to be charged for them to check it out and tell me exactly what was wrong with it. Long story short my car needs a new engine and they were quoting me a high price so I found a good used motor and a really affordable mechanic. I went in to pick up my car and he basically got mad that he wasn't going to do thr work on my car and charged me for going under the hood to see what was wrong with the car. He had my car since Saturday morning until Monday evening and throughout our conversations when I asked if I was going to be charged he would say no so to then be charged is wrong! Juan replace an axle for my honda. Next day it was leaking oil I took it back to the shop he inspected it and told me that it was the transmission. I said I will be coming back another day. I took the car to another repair shop they told me that my transmission was perfectly. They found that the axle that Juan installed was for another car not a honda civic. RIP OFF!!! AAA driver recommended this place, must have been a relative. Took my vehicle in at 8AM for a positive terminal replacement, new battery and oil change..When I called at 4PM no answer, had to drive over to find out if my truck was ready. When I arrived the first thing I hear is, "we found more problems". coil and spark plug corrosion!!! I truly believe he swapped parts out. He also replaced the negative battery terminal (without calling) and told me (at 4PM) the battery was a special order, didn't replace it.. stay away. I had problems with my father in law's van while visiting. they put it on the computer for free and found the problem with sensors.They never tried to sell me anything not needed. van runs great again and also were a lot lower than dealer prices. I absolutely love Juan and Marco at 2 Mechanics. They are really knowledgeable and kept me updated on the progress of my car every step of the way. Juan kept the broken pulleys to show me before I paid for the work and answered all my questions in ways I could understand...then he gave me a mini-lecture on how if I keep up on routine maintenance my car will last a really long time. ;) I definitely call them "my mechanic" and will return there even for oil changes. read more

I have been coming to Juan's shop for a little over a year. I have had a fantastic experience every time. Juan his staff and mechanics are extremely friendly and helpful with giving honest opinions with things that can wait to be fixed if need be. I have moved out of the area but just drove all the way back to Tracy for them to look at one of my cars that was having a issue.
