Nels, the owner of the shop, has always been incredibly respectful and resourceful. I've been working with him even before he had a shop. However, when he left, an arrogant manager named Nate took over. He made disrespectful comments about the bikes they've worked on for me and even made a mistake on my Harley, which they had fully rebuilt. I usually avoid the shop, but I was told to give them a call about my new bike. They didn't even have time to talk to me; they just sent me an email saying he didn't have time to explain the systems to me, which is part of the job. Nate is the kind of person who thinks he knows everything. If I didn't respect the owner of the business, I would have all the emails and texts of this guy bashing me as a client. read more

I was having issues with a very jerky throttle response and excessive engine braking on my 2012 Super Tenere. Due to some of the positive reviews I saw on various forums and the claims they made on their website, I decided to have 2WDW flash my ECU to correct these problems. They claimed that these issues would be greatly alleviated after the flash. After the flash, I didn't notice any improvement whatsoever. When I contacted them, they weren't very helpful. Instead of offering to double check the flash results they had just made, they just suggested it may be an issue with the valves or throttle bodies being out of sync. Even though the bike only had only 19k miles, I checked the valves and throttle bodies. The valves were in spec, and the throttle bodies needed a slight rebalance (which had no effect on the situation). I was very close to getting rid of the bike since it was nearly unrideable for me in either mode at this point. However, decided to try one more mail in service and now the issue is fixed. 2WDW does not issue refunds, so over $300 was flushed down the toilet. read more

Needed an ECU flash for my Gen II Busa after getting a full Akrapovic exhaust. I race dragbikes and after buying this 2016 Busa for the street I was a bit underwhelmed (it only had Yoshi slip ons, and just sorta felt slow probably because I'm used to my dragbike). I sent my ECU off and had it back in a week! It was a completely different bike. Much better acceleration, top end, and sounded killer (make sure to do the PAIR blockoffs and disable so you don't get decel backfire). Also runs cooler due to the earlier fan setting. Service was also on sale. Couldn't be happier. read more

They race and it may feel funny when you're there because we don't typically fit into race communities. But they have great service and very high skills. They also have a dyno. Did I say that. Super knowledgeable and friendly staff! I had my Mt03 in to get the exhaust installed and tuned they did a stellar job. Then when my bike was stolen and recovered they did all the repair work and did a great job! Unfortunately still waiting on two parts but that's totally not on them and due to back orders. However they communicated everything along the way and let me take my bike and once the parts arrive they said it'll be a quick 20 min swap and I could just hangout when they do it. 2 Wheel Dynoworks - MT03 after being picked up from repairs - Motorcycle Repair Near Me - Kirkland, Washington

I brought my bike into 2 Wheel Dynoworks for new rear brake shoes, headlight adjustment, rear brake light repair and a valve adjustment. As soon as I picked up my bike from the shop it started backfiring and sputtering. I had an appointment immediately after I picked it up, so I asked my friend to bring the bike back. We were told it was "probably a vacuum line" that got disconnected durning the valve adjustment. When my friend brought the bike in he was told that because they "cleaned up the parts while working on the bike" and that they exposed a crack in the intake manifold. Shawn was told that they said it would have to be replaced, and they had to charge for parts labor to fix the problem. My bike ran a hell of a lot better before I brought it to 2 Wheel Dynoworks. I got the bike back in worse shape thank when I took it in. I called and spoke with "Nate" and told him what was happening. I told him it also had trouble starting. I asked him what he could do to help me get my bike running before Saturday because I have a charity ride on a Saturday and I can't ride like this. He told me there was nothing he could do because he would need to order parts. I asked him if I brought it in, would they work with me on the labor cost? He said "No, we'll have to charge the full cost for labor". I told him "I've never, EVER had sputtering, backfiring or trouble starting my bike before. To say I'm dissatisfied is an understatement." All he said was, "That's unfortunate". I'll never take my bike to them for repair again. Beware. read more

Bought my 07 R1 last week... Went in cause my 07 R1 was not operating at full power. Called them only one day in advance and got scheduled for the next day, talked with Nate (tall gentlemen) he was very professional, clean cut and answered all of my 100 questions. Came in, Nels (who comes off as soft spoken, respectful, honest) threw it on their in shop DYNO, found out exactly what the issue was, communicated to me my options very clearly. He also showed me everything that wasn't right on the bike and gave me tips and tricks on how I could perform myself or the option of bringing it to them. I traveled to this shop from Lakewood which was about an hour away if you take the freeway. I was hesitant to make the trip at first because I figure if something wrong with the ecu flash then I would have to make another journey back and forth. That was not the case, the gentleman I was working with me was very knowledgeable and professional he even helped me save a couple hundred bucks by removing an air box snorkel instead of buying a whole another performance filter. Long story short I couldn't love my Ecu flash more and have had no issues since, they got me in and out in 40 min tops! CONSUMER BEWARE. I don't typically write reviews, but my experience with this shop was so negative I felt the need to warn anyone who wants to bring their bike here and give this place their business. I first heard about the world of 2WDW from an acquaintance of mine. The shop came highly recommended, so I jumped in with both feet and brought in my 2 bikes for tuning and tires, a Diavel and an MT07. The Diavel turned out fantastic; the MT, however, is a different story. The MT ended up with a flat spot at 3600 RPMs @ ¼ throttle resulting in a sputtering hesitation that clears up around 4k, and then takes off like a shot. For a '07, this rpm range is where the bike comes alive... so having this flat spot is much more than a slight annoyance, especially in slower traffic when the bike is bucking and jerking I was willing to overlook the sub-par tune, but then I also found paint damage down to the platic on the rear section of the MT that wasn't there upon drop-off. Photos in front of their bay door show the freshly painted tail section in perfect condition. If the damage wasn't there when I dropped it off but there when I picked it up, it isn't hard to ascertain where it came from. I alerted the shop of the damage via email, and their response and "customer service" quickly overshadowed any good of the overall experience. How would you feel if you communicated to a shop about your concerns and damage you'd found that obviously originated from their shop, and they deny responsibility, hurl insults, trivialize the damage and respond in an extremely unprofessional manner. I'm a shop owner myself and understand the value of customer service, respect and the trust that a customer has when they bring in their vehicle. This shop obviously does not. Consumer beware. I will not be returning with the rest of my fleet, advocating, or recommending anyone else to this shop in the future. I cannot in good conscience send anyone their way with the knowledge that they treat and provide service to their customers this way. I can say with unfettered certainty from experience this was an unnecessary result. Had the interaction been handled and addressed literally any other way, the result would have been a lifetime customer and advocate. So ill say first that I was sent the wrong ECU by mistake initially. And this made me miss a dry weekend, which wasn't appreciated. But they handled it professionally and compensated fairly for my time to ship back their mistake. I sent back the wrong one and received mine within another week. Now on to the results. On my XSR700 (FZ07/MT07 engine) the difference was noticeable. The bike pulls the the front tire up much easier now on roll-on throttle. More mid punch and smoother low rev response. Breathes better up high too (with help of a new pipe) and pulls well to red now. Overall more torque everywhere Id say. The trade off is premium gas is required now and I expect lower mpg (who cares?) and the tune is pretty expensive for a common FZ/MT flash. Overall Im happy with the results so far, but think they could do it cheaper considering the amount of business they get now and mostly basic (not custom) reflashes. I would recommend them though, giving them 5 stars after getting the wrong ECU. Cool people, fair in business and the flash works well. Thanks guys. read more

Took my bike to them with a power vision tune to have it tuned .... The told me I would have to buy a power commander to go with the power vision tuner I had supplied..... I purchased it only to find out that they had baited me into buying the something I did not need ... they installed the power commander and bike has run like crap ever simce. Tried repeatedly to get in touch with them but the so called tuner would not return my call.. TERRIBLE PLACE TO TAKE YOUR BIKE... I had my S1000RR tuned here last spring. I bought the bike used with a full system and an unknown tune on a power commander. Had to book dyno time with 2 wheel I believe it was a 30 day wait to get in. Completely worth it. Nels dyno'd the bike and took time to explain the finer details of the BMW ECU and his tuning process. The bike rides much better than before. Roll on to heavy throttle from low RPM no longer bogs and the throttle response across the rpm range is much more immediate. Bike is more predictable on the street and more fun on the track now. Also picked up some reasonably priced Power 5's and had them mount and balance, good service here. I live in Olympia but its worth the drive. read more

I have to say that this isn't the first time I was treated this way in a motorcycle shop but it is by far my worst experience. The guys here are sexist and take advantage of women thinking that they don't know anything about motorcycles. To be fair, I am a new rider and my experience level isn't high but I at least know what fair service looks like. The guy at the front was especially creepy. He kept asking me questions like who I ride with and if I had a group of girlfriends that rode with me. That if I didn't he'd be happy to show me around. So gross. A simple oil service shouldn't be $100. It's just draining it, changing the filter and filling it up again. The guy I used to take my bike to in Kirkland moved to Snohomish so I thought I'd take it here because of the reviews. He used to charge me half that amount for an oil change and without the creepy staring. It's absolutely ridiculous that they think they can take advantage of a women just because they think she knows nothing about bikes. Shame on you. Updated response - yes it was most definitely your shop. You have a guy at the front counter who was very tall. He's the one who was being very creepy. You don't have a service invoice because I decided not to have you guys work on my bike after the experience I had. read more

After buying my 2018 Kawasaki Z900RS I was very unhappy with the snappy throttle response when taking turns. I was like the fuel was just shut down. The guys at 2Wheel knew exactly how to handle the re-flash of the ECU. The bike is a totally different ride from the first day I got it. I have since made other changes that have improved on the bike's overall appearance and performance. I will be working with them again very soon. I brought in a 2018 Honda cb1000r for tuning. Sadly, they weren't able to do it, due to my bike being one of the first. Nels, I believe was really friendly and helpful and took the data off my bike and had it sent off. He still did some things to my bike and did a baseline Dyno free of charge. Now the reason why I cannot give a five star is because they told me they would get back to me and never did after the first week. I called probably 3 or 4 Times just for an update and never heard back. I mean I get things take time, but it's a pretty bad business practice not to get back to customers. A simple, "they are still working on it or we can't do it would have sufficed." I just decided to buy a racing module and use that instead and what I bought works fine. I would not recommend these guys if you don't have a mainstream bike due to the fact that they never got back to me. read more

My local tuner (Nashville) didn't have time to tune my Yamaha FZ-07. Sure glad he didn't. Sent 2 Wheel Dynoworks a text on Tuesday morning, sent my ECU on Tuesday afternoon, got it back on Thursday of the same week. The two way communication was great - they asked what kind of riding I did, type of fuel I used, my air filter and air box mods. Since they didn't have map for my Zard exhaust (nobody does) they researched the specifications and made a custom map for me. Based on the limited riding I've done since, I'd say that their estimate of 6-8 hp gain (10%) is about right. The additional power is felt most in the midrange. Bike is running cooler, throttle response is smoother (much), and mileage seems about the same. I'd recommend these guys to anyone looking to get optimized performance out of their motorcycle. A much more comprehensive tune than going with the Power Commander option, and less expensive as well. read more

I had a HORRIBLE experience from 2 Wheel DynoWorks: bad upgrade install, horrible customer service, and the owner would not accept responsibility for poor installation. I had 2 Wheel DynoWorks install a Stage 4 Rottweiler air intake system on my KTM 1190. I had this installed right before a trip with friends to Utah. While out on my vacation, I was stranded with dirt in the motor. The KTM mechanic in St. George Utah who fixed my motorcycle said the inner air filter was not oiled. I have pictures and a statement from a certified KTM mechanic. When I approached 2 Wheel Dynoworks, he kept changing his statement to put the fault back on me or Rotweiller Performance. At no point during our conversation would he accept fault for failing to oil the filters. Irony is that I asked the mechanic if I should run home and oil the filters ahead of time. He said "No, we take care of that." Since my problem, I have heard of 2 other customers in the motorcycle community to have similar experiences with shoddy work at this shop. My experience was even explained and twisted to another customer that it was the fault of the Rottweiler design and not his work. I was going to let this slide, but after hearing of more bad experiences AND 2 Wheel Dynoworks referring to my problem as still not his fault, I can't be silent anymore. Please think twice before bringing your motorcycle here. read more

Had my 2017 Yamaha FZ-07 ECU remapped to address the factory deceleration fuel cutoff and for exhaust/intake upgrades. I shipped my ECU off on a Friday and received my ECU it back the following Saturday. I reinstalled the ECU and was very pleased it no longer backfires and the sever deceleration (from the factory fuel mapping) is gone. They also increase my rev limiter above the factory 8500 RPM and the bike now pulls hard to 10500. Only took it out for a 30 minute ride, but the performance enhancement makes the bike more fun to ride. read more

So this is my second review of 2 Wheel Dynoworks, who just finished up fine-tuning my second Yamaha FZ07 (I reviewed their work previously - it was awesome). I brought the bike in because of a problem other FZ07 owners might recognize: the bike can have a very abrupt throttle response from idle, so much so that you often find yourself having to baby-sit the throttle and clutch at low revs to avoid lurching. Nels remedied this problem in about 30 minutes; this and the other work he did really made a *night-and-day* difference in the drivability of my bike, which I noticed the minute I took off from their shop. It's so much better now! If you haven't worked with Nels and his crew, I recommend them very highly. Like other reviewers have said, they are great problem solvers, and they have the skills and the dedication to get the job done right. Had a great experience with the guys at 2 Wheel Dynoworks last week, they Dyno tuned my 2016 Thruxton R. It's no horsepower monster but after the tune it is soooo smooth. Straight from Triumph these bikes often struggle with a low speed downshift stalling issue but after the 2 Wheel guys did their magic that is completely gone and I couldn't be happier with their service. read more

I was pretty excited about getting a new ECU for my motorcycle. I talked with Nel's (the owner) months in advance to make sure he'd worked with it. He assured me he had. Once I got it, I had questions about should I install it or have him install it before tuning. Over several emails with long delayed responses, he promised he'd answer and never did. When he final was able to schedule me in, he still hadn't answered any of my questions. I installed the equipment and rode in. He spent 45 minutes tuning, said it was an hour and a half. It was cool to watch, I'm not sure why he thought it took so long. (I've since found out, that a proper ECU tune time is 3 hours with a base map) He then said he'd email me the results. He had a local ECU rep there to help tune. It turns out, they'd never worked with my ECU before. The local rep had only worked with this ECU once a week prior to mine. They didn't know what they were doing. It took multiple weeks and emails after this and Nel's wouldn't send the results. It wasn't until I asked for a refund that he mailed the results. The bike has been running extremely poorly and after asking for a refund, I was informed the fuel/air sensor for the dyno was broken and that is why the tuning failed. I just asked for my money back as when watching them tune the bike, their responses (lack of), and the results of the tuning show that Nel's doesn't know what he is doing. The response for my refund.....NO RESPONSE. So, having someone be so incompetent, lie, no communication, and ultimately ruin a $15k motorcycle....I would stay away. read more

Nels and crew did a spectacular job tuning my 2014 VFR800F. They tuned up the bike for my aftermarket exhaust, cleaned up the throttle snatch on hard rolloff, smoothed out the engine braking, and paved over the VTEC torque drop. (Picked up 6 hp and 4 lb ft of torque at the rear wheel in the process.) It's like a whole new -- and virtually perfect! -- bike. Customer service was great; they let me hang out and talked over all the tweaks and changes, and answered my questions expertly.
