Outside the front door, looking west just after sunset. Savannah City Hall.

Always love going here when we're in town. Great selection of wines with constantly changing offerings and knowledgeable hosts

Beautiful large hidden wine bar off of river street! Stopped by in the late afternoon and was told to "sit wherever you like" at a nearly empty establishment. There was one other couple that was leaving and felt as if the bartender was annoyed by us coming in. He came to our table with glasses of water and was ready to take our order shortly thereafter. Had an idea of one wine to try and spoke highly of it without asking about my taste preference, which is something I was not used to. I did enjoy the wine though! While we were seated another couple walked in, received the same cold greeting and then walked out. The wines are selective here and a bit on the pricey side. They offer wine tastings at $28 for 4 sample which I find a bit steep. Overall, this wine bar is beautiful but felt between the coldness of the bartender and lack of guests it seemed a bit off.

Love this wine bar, from its selection of wine to its knowledgeable and friendly staff (Shannon and Aiden) to its exposed brick walls, artwork and music, not to mention the great views of the Savannah river! Will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

There is much to be enjoyed at 208 Wine Bar. I am so happy that downtown Savannah has a great wine bar! The service was excellent. The bartender was knowledgeable and kind. They answered all of my questions. If they had not tasted a wine personally they said so. This I appreciated! When my friend and I described our individual tastes we were given suggestions. The wine menu like most at a wine bar can feel overwhelming. Do not panic! Ask questions, the bartender will help you. We both decided on a tasting. It was the best deal in my opinion. I got the "Mambo Italiano". The tastings can change weekly. So this particular tasting may not be on the menu anymore or may rotate back on. It was $28. I was expecting a small tasting portion. Much and happily to my surprise it was four full pours! Great deal for the price! My friend and I also got the veggie plate. They do not make these themselves. A catering company makes them. The veggie plate was ok. It was good to have something to snack on. The vegetables were fresh and the hummus was tasty. The description of the veggie plate did not say it came with a cheese spread. My friend and I are both allergic to diary. So part of it we could not consume unfortunately. There is plenty of space inside of 208 Wine Bar. The bar itself wraps around with multiple bar stools. Then there are plush blue chairs to sit on in one area. And a few tables with chairs in another. The exposed brick walls and wooden floors are a lovely decorative touch. The bathroom is clean and matches the rest of the decor in the bar space. It is around the bar on the left side. 208 Wine Bar is a gem! I will be back for another glass or two of wine.

What a unique little gem of a wine bar right on the river of Savannah. They have a great selection of wines. You can do a glass of wine, flight of wine or bottle of wine. The service was friendly, top notch and truly passionate about wine herself

What a great spot! I extensive wine menu. Beautiful decor inside a pretty big space overlooking the river. Some of the tables are made from deconstructed cottages in the area. Nice chill vibe. Staff super friendly and eager to please. This place is spotless . We even found ourselves there later in the night. We will return.

    Red wine flight and charcuterie.

Fantastic. Highly recommend. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. The charcuterie board was outrageous. Worth a visit.

So we just wanted a "glass of wine" and found 208 Wine Bar about a five minute walk away... so Karen and I grabbed Uki and walked over. K and I each had a glass of wine that the very knowledgeable and awesome bartender Shannon recommended and walked us through the flavor profiles. As we enjoyed the wine, we decided to get a bottle to go and just walk to get dinner to bring back to our cottage. Shannon gave us a few tastes of wine... but we decided on a bottle of 2017 Trione... one of her favorites. The bottle is nothing short of spectacular. Went great with dinner... and just capped off a great day. Can't thank Shannon enough... she was awesome and made the whole experience very special. Enjoyed the vibe and ambiance of 208 Wine... the service puts it over the top! Highly recommend-and we will be back!

I have been wanting to check out this place for a while, so finally my husband and I checked it out on date night. Great place to have a glass of wine or maybe even 3! Our wine server was amazing! He was hilarious and knowledgeable about the menu. He made us feel comfortable and let us sample about 3 different wines. Location: Downtown by River St. easy access. Prices: Reasonable. A flight is $28. Parking: Downtown parking is tricky. Either you park in a parking garage or just drive around until you find an open spot. Great place for a date night, girls night or just to have a glass of wine.

This was another highlight on our Savannah trip! We were walking along the street by the river and saw the "Historic Steps". We took photos on the steps and saw the sign pointing up for a psychic shop. We climbed up the steps and saw the long line for the psychic, but saw the wine shop on the other side! We stopped in on a whim, and were SO excited we found this place! The owner Christina is super knowledgeable about wine! She explained the different flights offered and snacks too. We each did a flight which seemed a little expensive at first. Then we saw how huge the wine pours were and it was not overpriced at all. She has wines from all over the world. The Old World Zin and Napa Cab were my favorites. The snacks were very small. We ordered a cheese plate and the bites were literally bite sized. The cheeses, bread, and olive oil went perfectly with the red wines I tasted. My friend even had champagne on her flight. It was fun to try some different wines and learn about the area they came from. There was a man playing acoustic guitar and it was such a nice atmosphere. As it got later, the bar filled up with locals and tourists. There are great views of the river out the window. I would definitely go back to this amazing wine bar!

I was actually surprised at myself for not reviewing and the one ding this place earlier. I am kicking myself for failing to highlight this establishment as one of the best wine bars in the coastal GA area. This location is a perfect stop while in Savannah. The owner Christina is a true blessing and her staff including Shannon and Patty are truly exceptional with their wine knowledge. They don't have a kitchen so don't go looking for food but they do have nice cheese snacks and small plates. The location on Bay Street is perfect and the bar area and seating area allows you get views of the Savannah river. The selection of wine choices is what really makes them stand out. They have flights so you can try multiple wines and the bottle list is absolutely able to handle ever palate that's out there. This definitely is a place you need to try. I attended and event this evening and that's where my photos came from. Come try this if you're a wine drinker!!!!

OMG!!! If you are in the area you have to stop by! This place hasn't been open very long but I knew I wanted to stop by. I went with some of my friends and we ended up getting some flights and we had a blast trying all the different wines. I believe the owner was there and he helped us pick some of the glasses and even told us the history of the wines we were drinking. It was a great experience and I can't wait to go again!

Strolling down Julian street (best street in the world because they named it after my son, obviously), my partner saw the wine tastings and immediately directed me that way, knowing I love wine lol. When we stepped inside, it was so much bigger than I expected. There were a bunch of daiquiri machines spinning, hundreds of wine bottles on display and happy people drinking. Heavenly. I made my way to the tasting counter and had the chance to do my tastings under the guidance of Noah. There were so many options to choose from, Noah was so helpful helping me find my choices and explaining the notes. He was one of the best parts of the experience, I was really impressed with his knowledge of the wine and his fantastic customer service. I decided to try the jalapeño wine, the Tybee island pearadise pine, velvet reserve, white Pinot noir, and the prohibition pomegranate. The pearadise pine and white pinot noir were both so light and lovely, perfect beach wines. The jalapeño wine was surprisingly fantastic. Noah said that many people were pleasantly surprised with it and I joined that number. It was sweet and smoky, not overwhelming at all. The prohibition pomegranate was my least favorite unfortunately. It was tooooo sweet but I'm one who prefers a dryer wine and Noah did give me a heads up that it was pretty sweet. I couldn't finish it. BUT. BUT. That Velvet Reserve? Babyyyy. My bff Noah said it was his favorite and a favorite of many, bold and high alcohol content. Let me tell you, he didn't lie one bit. It was so bold, rich in flavors, phew. I immediately asked him to grab a bottle for me. Such a great experience trying some local wines, so happy to head back to ATL with a new fave vino!

The empanadas completely surprised us. They were incredibly flavorful and honestly one of the highlights of the food menu. They were a little different from a traditional empanada - the crust reminded me more of a paratha-style case - but the flavor was so good that we didn't mind at all. The Putu Punch was such a fun cocktail. It somehow transports you straight to a beach with a warm breeze and vacation vibes - hard to explain, but it really captures that feeling. The Goldilocks, a whiskey-based ginger drink, was another standout. What's cool is that you can customize it and make it your own, which made the experience even more fun. Our version was delicious - perfectly balanced with a great mix of flavors. Great drinks, beautiful views, a fantastic sunset, and a lively vibe make Peregrin Rooftop a Savannah spot worth checking out.

The whole place is designed to feel like the inside of a trailer--spray-painted antique chandeliers, old pictures of different trailer parks, and random little details everywhere. It's kitschy, but very intentional, and honestly pretty cool. We came in late after a 4h drive into town after work, and the staff was still super friendly and accommodating. No "we're about to close" energy, which I appreciated. We started with the creamy collard dip, which is basically their take on spinach-artichoke dip, but with collards. Really good. I do think the chips were a little too heavy for the dip--a thinner chip would've been perfect--but that's a small note. The chicken pancake tacos were probably my favorite. The chicken was fried perfectly and still really moist. And at this point, I'm convinced Savannah just knows how to cook chicken. Everywhere we went, the chicken was consistently good. My partner got the grilled apple pie sandwich, which has fried chicken, grilled apples and bacon. He's not even a big pork person, but that bacon was so crispy and the whole combination just worked. Even the waffle fries were good--crispy, fresh and actually seasoned. We had the Grateful Dead and Wicked Kiwi cocktails, plus a couple of shots, and the drinks were strong, good and reasonably priced. Honestly, I don't have a ton of notes here. It's not trying to be some elevated dining experience. It's just a really good late-night spot with good food, strong drinks, friendly service and a fun atmosphere. We sat inside because Savannah in August was not about to have us sitting on anybody's patio. Definitely recommend, especially if you're looking for somewhere to eat late. It was a vibe, the food was good, and it did exactly what it needed to do.
