The atmosphere was amazing. Great music and great outdoor seating. Great beer selection but the food for the price was just okay. Nothing special. I had the burger and beans. Beans tasted like they came from a can and my burger was a little too chard for my taste. My friend ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and she said it was a little dry but the Au-Jus sauce was really good. I think it is a hit or miss depending on how well you like your food cooked. read more

Don't go here. Ever. There used to be a really cool, new, innovative bar idea here that took a lot that was empty for years add transformed it into a unique fun part of the community. Then the owners of "the slab" (really?!?!) raised their rent so high they had to relocate. Now instead of 64 tap beers you can choose from 8 bottles. Instead of a full liquor bar, you can have a box wine. Instead of friendly local staff, you have rude, disinterested people who don't care. There is a MUCH better beer place right around the corner where you'll be much happier. The slab is as interesting and fun as it's unoriginal name. Just don't go. read more

It's a huge practically-empty concrete-slab lot that serves as a walk-through between Elkhorn (the main) St. & the Riverwalk. -0- Atmosphere, that's for sure. Do yourself a favor and keep walking by. 7 of us were there yesterday and stopped by after visiting RMNP. Asides from the horrible service, the food was awful. Pork BBQ sandwich appeared burnt and left over from the week before. It was covered in sauce to mask the fact it was burned and obviously left over. Rubens left a long lasting taste still with me over 24 hours. Burgers were overcooked. Philly cheesesteak left one of us sick. Very casual and free-spirited patio bar type deal right on Elkhorn, Estes Park's main drag. They have an excellent selection of all kinds of bottled beers, it's probably the longest beer list I have seen! Super laid back environment with outdoor seating and a small area for live music. This is an absolute perfect location to hang out with friends, enjoy some brews (even the obscure ones!), and maybe even hear some tunes. It is definitely pet friendly, so it is a good quick spot for those with pups. I was actually really shocked to see so many poor reviews for this place; I definitely think it is geared more toward a younger, more carefree crowd so it probably isn't the best place for people with children or people looking for a sit down meal. Expanding the beer list to include drafts would have bumped up my review to 5 stars! read more

My friend recommended this place to me after I had a bad experience at the Barrel. I asked the cashier about the history of the property and about all the different kinds of beers. Terrible service! We walked up asking if we could bring in our pup, he was very good about that, saying we love four legged friends. I asked how the set up worked, he said "we have food from the establishment behind (can't remember the name of it), so here's the menu, pick out what you like and I'll be over to get your order". So we waited about 5+ minutes and he was busy taping up a sign, no indication he was coming over so I walked back up to the bar and waited while he finished taping up the sign and then placed the order. He put it in and I walked back to the table carrying my own drinks and waited. And waited and waited and waited. After about 45 minutes our hot dogs and Rueben sandwich still hadn't arrived. At no time did anyone check on us. One guy was eating his own food and the other guy was playing on his skateboard or jumping to see if he could touch the top of the tent. At the 45 minute mark we overheard a conversation that they hadn't even made our order yet. We got up, asked for a refund and left. My friend said to the guy that he should have paid more attention to his customers, his reply was "the kitchen was over there". They had no interaction with the other 5-6 tables also there, and were not even working. Unacceptable! read more
