The appointment for my cut and highlights was one of the best experiences I've had at a salon. I was greeted warmly by the receptionist and offered water while I waited since I arrived very early. She answered my questions about the products they offer. I also had the pleasure of observing her interact with other clients. She was the perfect blend of efficiency and kindness. McKenna was right on time for my appointment. She reviewed the things we discussed during my initial consultation to make sure I didn't want to make any changes to the plan. Then it was on to the highlight process. I'm very happy with the results as well as the cut itself. McKenna has the best personality and made the time fly by. She made me feel comfortable and confident right from the start. I highly recommend this salon and McKenna. I feel I finally found "my" salon. The salon itself is beautiful and bright. When I arrived a few minutes early, my stylist, Skyler, was still with a client. Her previous appointment ran well over the allotted time. During my consultation, I showed her a picture of a chin-length bob so she would understand the style I wanted. Most stylists appreciate it this. She said it was no problem, washed my hair, and started the cut. She cut very small portions at a time, which I assumed meant she was being cautious. Once she reached near my chin I was happy with the length. Her next client arrived for a coloring service. Skyler stopped working on me. The receptionist came over to dry my hair and burned my ear with the blow-dryer. The receptionist then had to return to the front desk to answer phones, leaving me to wait until the owner of the salon came over to finish styling my hair. I was never offered a mirror to check the results. Exhausted and ready to leave while Skyler worked on the client next to me, I just heard a "thank you" as I walked to the front to pay. She never completely finished the haircut. The service was expensive and not worth the outcome. When I realized how uneven my hair was, I called the salon and spoke with the receptionist. I asked to speak with the owner, who was not in that day, and scheduled a follow-up visit. When my husband and I arrived for the correction, the salon was completely vacant during mid-morning heavy traffic hours, which felt intentional to hide what had happened. The owner sat me in the chair and lectured me about the time they had spent on my first visit, blaming me for the poor results. She then grabbed scissors, snipped a tiny bit of hair, and declared it fixed. My hair still looked terrible. In my opinion, this salon charges high prices for poor quality and poor time management, having squeezed me in between chemical services.
