Harp and his company are a fraud. In summer of 2024, they were assigned by Home Warranty of America to perform roof leak repair on my house. HWA paid out the claim to them ($300-$400) and they never initiated the job despite countless follow ups over 7 months. Just not a trustworthy business to get any work done. Must be avoided at all costs. I'm going to be taking next steps to get my money back so I can actually get it done by a legitimate handyman. read more

I am so disgusted with this company. I won't go into all the details, but Choice home warranty got 24/7 to handle my electrical issue, Choice is another company I would never recommend. I had an appointment scheduled for a Wednesday with a 5 hour (!) window. I sent pictures of the issue so that they could be prepared as requested, they never showed up. Ok, things happen, I gave them another chance and we rescheduled another 5 hour window for the next day. Again, a no show. There goes 10 hours of my time for for a company that could not care less about the customer. I do NOT recommend using these un-professionals. read more

I had a pipe that was leaking in my laundry area. And it's an older home with cast iron pipes that were very difficult to work on because they were crammed into a very small area between the laundry tub and the water heater and then disappeared into the slab. Chele and his friend arrived and got to work surveying the job and then getting to work. It took awhile (did I say it was a complicated job??!!) but wow, they did such a professional job. Very dishonest and poor quality work We ask them to waterproof with plastic our new framing wood. Did not know what they are doing. Wasted over $812 supplies. Harp promised for the job for $700 then elevated to $1660 then $1900 plus supplies Sunny put the plastic wrongly and did not cover the trimming correctly to prevent water leak. Harp was very professional, he assessed the job I needed done (a door repair) and was honest and upfront that he could not do the job by himself with his existing tools because of how the door was set into the wall. DO NOT USE!!!! CANCELLED LAST MINUTE!! DOUBLED THE PRICE! I hired Harp to do a move for me on 2/15/19. It entailed picking up ~ 35 boxes of medical charts, several medical examination tables and some small office furniture to move a doctor into our practice. He then removed some old exam tables and took them to the junkyard and dropped off a file cabinet to an elderly doctor at home. He charged me $80/hour plus recycling fees and that went fine. Fast forward 7 months later to Sept 2019, I texted Harp 3 weeks in advance AS A REPEAT CUSTOMER to do another similar move. I again needed to move a few medical exam tables, some boxes of personal effects and remove a couple of older medical exam tables to the junkyard. The evening before I texted him again to remind him of the details, addresses, etc and he asks me what he charged me last time. I reminded him it was $80/hr and sent a screenshot of my venmo payment. He then informs me his rates are now $175/hour and tries to extort over double out of me at 9pm the night before a 9am move the next morning!!! After much back and forth, he texts me that he doesn't even have a truck for the next morning and cancels. Disgusting. Miraculously, Edgar from MEAA movers responded at 11:57pm to my internet plea for a mover on a Friday night! He and his team did the move for us the next day and were total stars. I was beyond appreciative. Edgar's rates are $70/hour for 2 movers, BTW. I have rarely encountered such unprofessional behavior as I did with Harp. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. We had a great experience working with 24 SF handyman and we LOVE our new bathroom fixtures. I was obsessed with getting a few bathroom updates completed over President's Day weekend. By Sunday we had finished the painting and purchased the vanity, mirror and new light fixture, but I hadn't arranged, or even researched, someone to install everything. I started messaging people on Yelp and Home Advisor Sunday night around 7pm. Harp got back to me right away and agreed to the do the job the next day, Monday. On Monday night the person he assigned was running late, so to make up for it Harp came over, too, and the two of them got everything done. They ran into some challenges with the plumbing and instead of throwing his hands up and saying he needed to come back the next day or later in the week, he went down to Lowe's, got the part he needed and came back and figured it out. It was around 8pm at that point, so I was impressed. They finished around 11:30pm, including taking away all of the old fixtures. Harp and his colleague worked diligently and were polite, professional and tidy. And they didn't leave us with a big mess to clean up at midnight which I really appreciated. I decided to rate at 4 stars. I had an urgent same day within two hour service request that they were able to complete for me at a total rate of 280 dollars. The work they completed was the building of one full size bed frame and the mounting/hanging of one 4ft. Long wire shelf and one 3ft. Long wire shelf. Everything went OK and I was really grateful they showed up in about an hour after my request the only thing that I saw which was an error on their end were two holes in the wall I guess he placed it wrong and then realized it and then fixed it. Aside from that I was happy to get it done 280 is pretty expensive though I feel for an urgent call and for this small amount of work 200 was more than enough. read more

There is nothing Harp's team can't do! Settling into the new place sometimes not as quick and easy as one can hope. Tons of small and not so small things that needs to be done. Assembling stuff, fixing stuff while assembling because it's defected, building one bookcase out of two to fit into the spot, expanding the closet wall to use more space, painting, cleaning the place so that after all that dirty, hassled with lots of trash workday the house looks clean, neat and leavable. I needed help after a torrential SF storm - I called and Harp was here quickly and on time to help secured wires that had been blown off my roof. When on the roof he found some small cracks in the roof which he repaired. All done quickly and efficiently. As a result I asked him about two other leaks I was having issues with. We agreed on an approach and he came back and has effectively solved those issues as well. That work included fixing a problem on my neighbors roof and he worked with both of us to fix her issue. Now I am using him to repair my deck and he is in the process of doing that work now. I have found him to be honest, reliable, cost effective and a very solid professional who knows what he is doing and gets the job done. When we purchased our home a few years ago, my husband and I were admittedly unfamiliar with the local market when it came to hiring workers from the various trades involved in home repairs and maintenance. So we did what any excited, happy new homeowners do--we searched the Internet, a number of gig economy apps, and even flyers stapled to utility poles to look for trustworthy, well-intentioned, competent professionals. From following these leads, we have experienced a wide variety of results, from pretty good to really, super disappointing. When I recently needed to complete a very difficult, very unpleasant project on our property, I approached the task with heartfelt dread. This specific project was ripe for failure. I knew it would be a difficult one with all the elements for a disastrous workday in place. The task involved heavy lifting, unpleasant working conditions, and unique challenges. It also involved a lot of unknowns because it required the demolition of previous construction. It is always impossible to predict what has been obscured for so long. I needed someone not only with the physical strength and tools to tear down a significant structure but also the wits and intelligence to navigate an evolving situation. I admit that when I reached out to Harp, given all that I had been through, my expectations were set very low. The first worker I had hired to accomplish this task had completed only a small portion of it. The task was unpleasant, difficult work, and I understood that it might take several attempts to get the work done. As I prepared for Harp's arrival, I saw the day ahead as just one in a series of attempts. Tomorrow, I assumed, I would just continue the process of finding the next best path to get this work done. Well, then, Harp arrived. Immediately the situation began to improve. He greeted me in an upbeat, professional manner. He took a long, careful look at the situation. What I found especially reassuring about his approach is that he asked insightful questions, listened to the answers and was careful to make sure he had really understood what I needed. Only after he felt satisfied with his understanding of what I was asking did he gather the necessary tools and organized his work area. With no further delay, he then set to work. In preparation for all the loud demolition noise, I had equipped my husband and I with hearing protection headphones. When I left Harp alone with the task, I went about my other work with the ear muffs on to buffer myself from all the noise I was expecting. When, after a while, I couldn't hear anything at all, I went to check that everything was going well. I was surprised and absolutely delighted to find that Harp had already made tremendous progress. He had done an amazing amount of work and done it all very quietly. I walked away and put our earmuffs back in their case at that point. At the end of the day, not only did Harp complete this most unpleasant, difficult task, but he did so with intelligence and competence. He gave us important, new insights about our property, offered sage advice when needed and suggested helpful future action items. What I appreciate most is that at every step Harp approached the task not only with brawn but also with brains. He demonstrated a determined, competent ownership of the task and thoughtful respect for our property. He was flexible in the details as the situation evolved all while exhibiting patience to someone less capable in this area of work. Harp not only completed the task he was given, but did so with resourcefulness, professionalism, a positive attitude and a demonstration of technical competence. In terms of what Harp charges for his work, I understood when I hired him I was paying more than I had for other tradesmen. But I also understood that the task was going to require more than the average, entry level worker could bring to bear. I decided that anyone who would charge that amount per hour and had that much positive feedback was worth the risk, and I would take a chance in spite of what one or two internet trolls might have written. After the fact, I am exceedingly pleased with my decision to hire Harp. If I need some boxes moved, I'll rip a flyer off a utility pole. If I need professional level, stress free trade craft to maintain and repair my home, I will call Harp. I highly recommend Harp. read more

If there were more than five stars, I'd give them to these guys. The backstory: A tree knocked out our power because of the recent storm. PG & E said we needed to get an electrician to fix the wires before they'd hook power back up. We called 6-8 electricians, who either didn't call back or were booked for a week; meanwhile, the food in the freezer was melting, I was charging my phones and computer at work, and we had a couple of out-of-town guests coming for the weekend. Enter Harp and Craig. Harp runs the corner store down the street, came over immediately to look at the wire, called Craig (his electrician), and they had the wires up and running in a matter of hours, just in time for PG&E to finish the job.
