I recently started going to this 24 Hour Fitness. It's conveniently located in a local small shopping area, and I have to say, the convenience is fantastic. it's open from 5 a.m., which is super helpful for early morning workouts. There are plenty of parking spaces available, so you don't have to stress about finding a spot. The gym is relatively cleaner than others in the area, though it still has a long way to go: some areas are still in need of a better deep clean. The equipment is a mix: some of the machines are brand new, while others are older, but I'm really happy they recently opened a new section with fresh equipment. Plus, they have big plans: soon they'll be updating the floors and adding a VIP area with massage chairs! I'm really excited to see how that all turns out. On the downside, I do wish they would improve some other areas for example the steam room always has a bad odor, and the restrooms need more attention. But overall, I'm optimistic about the upgrades coming soon! read more

This 24 Hour Fitness location on Amar and Nogales in Walnut seriously needs to step up the cleanliness. Lately the gym has been pretty dirty. Machines are often sweaty, trash cans get full, and the locker rooms and bathrooms don't look like they're being cleaned regularly. A lot of members wipe down equipment themselves, but the facility still needs consistent cleaning from the staff. For a gym that has this many members coming through every day, basic cleanliness should be a priority. I like the location and the equipment, but management really needs to do a better job maintaining this gym. Right now it just doesn't feel clean the way a gym should. read more

They just opened up from renovations and looks pretty good. Been going to this location for about 2 years and it was pretty run down before. The change was needed with a new look as well. If you're looking for a straight forward gym experience you'll get what you need here, With a new or restored equipment. This 24 is a mess. Equipment is always broken, the treadmills are so poorly calibrated the speeds feel totally random, and the place is never clean -- dust bunnies everywhere and sweat left on machines. Summer is brutal. It turns into an oven because the thermostat is stuck at 75, and the staff can't change it since Corporate controls it remotely. Super safe. And apparently they allow dogs in on the buddy pass now, so that's... interesting. Total safety and hygienic issue. Guess everyone's welcome except basic maintenance. Zero pride in this place. I'd look elsewhere. read more

I've been a loyal member at 24 Hour Fitness Walnut since 2017, and it's honestly sad seeing how much this gym has gone downhill over the years. Not only are prices continuing to go up, but the gym keeps introducing unnecessary policies that make the overall experience worse for paying members. The new bag policy is one of the worst changes they've made. I keep important items in my bag that I actually need throughout my workouts, and now members are forced to put bags in lockers. The problem is, people have already reported bags and items being stolen from those lockers, yet 24 Hour Fitness clearly states they are not liable for stolen belongings. So we're forced to store our valuables away, but if something gets stolen, they take zero responsibility? That makes absolutely no sense. Because of this policy, people are now leaving phones, AirPods cases, drinks, and workout accessories all over the floor instead. Isn't that more dangerous? People can easily trip over those items. Many other members at the gym are also frustrated with this policy and agree that it's extremely inconvenient and unnecessary. The buddy pass policy is another disappointment. I was only notified AFTER purchasing the buddy pass that I could only bring the same guest for 6 months and couldn't bring different friends or family members during that time. After 6 months, I can remove that person and add someone else. Why make something that simple so restrictive? It's just another unnecessary rule that negatively affects members. Instead of focusing on ridiculous policies, maybe focus on maintaining the actual gym. Even after the recent "renovation," there is still only ONE working water fountain while the other constantly seems to be under repair. There's also cardio equipment that still doesn't work, which is disappointing considering the gym was closed for 3 weeks for renovations. But apparently banning gym bags is the bigger priority. Other gyms like EōS Fitness and Planet Fitness don't have these kinds of ridiculous policies. 24 Hour Fitness Walnut keeps making workouts more inconvenient while charging members more money. But the manager "Omar" was clearly wasting my time when I kept telling him I didn't want a membership & kept insisting! I've always enjoyed the staff here and am not a Karen who gets upset when the front desk doesn't acknowledge me - I'm here to check in and work out and usually have my headphones already blasting. However, it's been a few months since I've been back to this gym as I moved (and the other 24 hour locations are even worse which is why I cancelled my annual membership and you should not support this corporation). Bottom line: despite some recent equipment additions this gym is terrible; some due to maintenance but mostly because the clientele are inconsiderate assholes who refuse to rerack weights accurately. Today not a single dumbell was in it's home. Everything was scattered. People that were there throw their hands up in the air as they can barely find weights near what they need, and no one reracks properly because its all a shitshow anyway. I had trouble with my sets because there are a few giant holes in the floor so my feet did not feel stable. They removed the basketball court for more new weight equipment which is nice, but the machines in the main area, particularly the leg machines are inexcusably poorlu maintained. The rollers for the leg extension/curl are always torn up and uncomfortable, and it's an easy enough part to replace. In sum, most of the gym goers here suck and they don't maintain their equipment. 9 squat racks are nice but I'm looking forward to going back to my gym soon. Edit: I have to now give this gym 0 stars. Amongst all the plate loaded equipment and press benches there are 0 5 pound and 10 pound plates. I had to find some 10s by the squat rack but they were the large ones designed for the squat racks. I don't even know if a single 5 or 2.5 pound plate exists here. Pathetic. Edit 2: Talked with front desk employees. Apparently they keep 5 pounders at the front desk because the GHETTO ASS PEOPLE steal them. Too much to police their crap clientele I guess. read more

Remodeled everything yet can't keep it clean.....and now they charge $15 for late fees and raised monthly fees to 40con top of yearly 60 fee..... I literally have to bring my own cleaning supplies. I am currently experiencing an issue with my service at 24. Once this is resolved, I will update my rating. Until then, this rating reflects their inability to process a refund. Last month, I specifically called to freeze my account due to a physical injury. The representative assured me it was taken care of, and everything seemed fine. However, two days ago, 24 charged me the regular monthly rate on my account. When I called back to resolve the issue, I was told by a representative that the manager would not approve a refund. That's three stars down. I requested to speak directly with the manager to resolve this, and I am currently awaiting that call. They said they call me back but it's been 2 days now. Additionally, 24.. a question to you all --- anyone considering signing up for monthly payments: why are customers forced to continue paying during a 6-month freeze, while yearly payers are not charged? How does charging during a freeze period benefit customers--or 24's reputation for service? I strongly suggest giving me a reply before i update again. read more

I asked to use the lat pulldown bar and offered to leave my AirPods case as collateral. The manager said this wasn't sufficient since the bar is valued at around $80, and required me to also leave one of my AirPods just to borrow the bar for about 20 minutes. I understand and don't mind leaving an item as collateral, but this felt excessive. As a paying member with a yearly subscription, I shouldn't have to give up multiple valuable personal items just to temporarily use standard gym equipment. read more

I am extremely disappointed with the current state of the 24 Hour Fitness location at this Walnut @Amar location. What was once a decent facility has fallen into a severe state of disrepair and neglect that makes working out challenging and unsanitary. The most pressing issue is the non-functional and poorly maintained equipment. Multiple machines have been clearly broken or out of order for an unacceptable length of time. It is rare to walk in and find everything operational, which severely limits my workout options, especially during peak hours. For a facility that is supposed to be open 24 hours, having unreliable equipment is a critical failure. Beyond the workout floor, the sanitation and basic amenities are appalling: 1. The Shower at the pool and spa has not worked for past 3 weeks. They stressed for members to take shower before using the pool/spa but they leave the shower not working for 3 weeks. There is no sign to encourage members to take showers in restroom before walking out to the pool/spa. This is not the first time, frequently there are showers in the restrooms are working. 2. Restrooms: The general condition of the restrooms is consistently unsanitary and stinks. Cleanliness is not a priority, and the state of the stalls and floors is often frankly disgusting. I urge local and corporate management to immediately address these severe maintenance and cleanliness deficits. If these issues are not rectified promptly, I will be forced to cancel my membership and advise others to avoid this location. read more

I wasn't aware 24 Hour Fitness had a 'Dry Sauna Only' policy, but since the showers have been blocked off longer than my two memberships combined, it's clearly intentional. I remember this facility when it was brand new when I was still living in the area. From time to time I will go here whenever I'm in the area for work. The equipment is still dated from back when it first opened in 2017 and it definitely looks like they hardly maintain the equipment since they do look like they are used from 2017. Their astroturfing should be redone as it's super worn out and dirty looking. They tore down the basketball court to put more cable pull stations which seems a bit off as why would they put the same equipment in a separate room? Anywho, someone with a better sense of oor planning should go in and make it over. read more

Cmon 24 hr like really , I am a paying customer and have been since 2007 and I live in walnut which is not cheap to live in . so city of industry 24 hr closed and now this one decided to shut down its basketball court . so now I don't have a basketball court to play at . And many members loved to come here or the city of industry and there both gone. Now we have to travel to the brea 24 hr which is a 35 min drive . Edit: Changing to two star from 1 star. Was able to finally get in contact with the manager. I went over multiple times and he was busy. He is a busy man, i'll give him that. My only critique is how difficult it was to get in touch with him. He gave me some tips on how best to communicate when there is a grievance and he said that its best to show up in person or send him an email, or if you have it, give him a text. This way when he is in meetings with other people, he can multitask and tend to the grievance. He listened to my complaint and understood, and didn't try to convince me of staying when I was explaining my grievance to him, it just doesn't give excuse for how I was treated. His staff should be able to handle a grievance in any other way other than "sorry, manager is busy, wait in the corner in line with all the other people that want to talk to him". The manager should have also assured that he would talk to his employees and teach, not punish, how they should have handled me. For example: 1. When someone says they want a 1 week pass, try to compromise and offer some useful suggestions 2. When there is no way to compromise because of "policy" (bs word btw) and I ask for a monthly membership that can be cancelled, don't give the person a membership commitment for 12 months that can only be cancelled with a 50 dollar penalty fee. 3. When your customer comes with a grievance about all of this, don't offer to just cancel their membership knowing that cancelling will cause a 50 dollar penalty. 4. Inform your customers, don't lie through obfuscation or lie of omission. Especially when they give you full context about what their needs are. I got scammed so hard. I am here visiting family for a week and I asked if they could provide me with a deal for 1 week, but they said they can't. Inflexible... I then said screw it, I will get a monthly pass and asked them to give me a membership that I can cancel immediately. They started to pull up the forms and had me sign some stuff on the computer. They tried to submit it, but the system was down... meh technology happens, whatever... So they busted out some papers for me to sign, I specifically asked and gave context that I was here for 7 days and won't need the membership after, so I need to be able to have a monthly pass to cancel. I signed the papers and went to my swim. Today I went to ask about bringing a friend, because I remember a while back I use to have a membership and I could bring a friend. They said, no, you have the wrong membership. You have the "Commitment" membership. That means I am signed up for at least 1 year before I can cancel. Freakin smack my head dudes... I told you I am here for a week. I won't be using this membership after, I basically want to immediately cancel it in like 2 days. Totally freakin scammed! Do not come here, another fitness place that just wants your money. The gym is poorly maintained too. The shower next to the pool doesn't work. I went to use a shower in the shower room and it didn't work, and then I got lucky and found one that worked. I didn't check the rest to see whats out of order, but things are just poorly maintained. Poor lighting in the treadmill and biking area. No enforcement of rules in the pool area, got people walking into my swim lane completely oblivious of etiquette. Oh ya and the water fountain is broken... Going to talk to the manager tomorrow to see if I can get a refund. But judging from the people leaving reviews, thats not gonna happen. read more

0/10 stars! This is by far the worst 24 Hour Fitness location I have visited. I used to recommend this gym regularly, but over the past few years, the quality of this gym has declined significantly. The front desk staff member (did not get her name) was kind and welcoming; however, aside from her, my experience was extremely disappointing. I was previously a member and decided to give this location another chance by signing up for a three-day trial. Unfortunately, that was a mistake. The tour was conducted by a Damien, who was rude and demonstrated a complete lack of customer service. I requested to speak with a manager and was directed to Omar Nava, whose response and professionalism were no better. During this interaction, Damien behaved unprofessionally by making faces and shrugging while I was speaking with the manager, and the manager appeared to side with him rather than address my concerns. Due to this experience, I left immediately and chose to use my trial pass at a different 24 Hour Fitness location instead. This gym was unwelcoming, extremely dirty, and lacked basic customer service standards. I will not be returning and would not recommend this location to others. 0/10 stars! I've been coming here for 3 years and they recently hired new staff and they are rude. They don't bother to make eye contact or say good morning. They just stare which I find it awkward at times. What happened to customer service ? I noticed they pick and choose who they say hi. Come on guys we are not in HS. Another thing I noticed the gym recently has been a little messier THAN BEFORE. I don't know if it's under new management or what, but for the last couple of months it has been a roll of the dice if the pool is going to be at a decent temperature or just to darn cold to swim, same goes for the showers, most of the time they are lukewarm at best. I do have to say the early morning staff is wonderful, always friendly and very helpful. read more

Almost the entire staff acts like they have a chip on their shoulder. Most of them don't even acknowledge you. The place is not well maintained especially the bathrooms. On top of that, they seem to be jacking up the monthly price at any opportunity possible. read more
