Steam and sauna rooms are shut down with less than five minutes' notice -- often just a paper sign taped to the door minutes before they enter the room... and while the heat and steam are turned off immediately, even when the rooms are full of members. There is no verbal announcement, no reasonable grace period, and no consideration for members who are actively using the facilities for post-workout recovery. Members are simply forced out mid-session so cleaning can begin. That is not customer service -- that is disregard. What makes this even more frustrating is that the steam room, sauna, and bathrooms at this location are consistently dirtier than other 24 Hour Fitness locations. Cleanliness does not appear to be proactively maintained throughout the day, yet management suddenly demands immediate shutdowns at peak usage times. Why can't cleaning be scheduled late at night or early in the morning when the facility is empty? Why shut down rooms when ten or more paying members are inside? A customer-centric manager would communicate, give reasonable notice, and plan maintenance around member usage -- not inconvenience an entire room without warning. Instead of listening to members, the GM argues with them and insists the rooms "need to be cleaned right away," regardless of how many people are still using the facility. Turning off the power immediately without allowing members to finish is dismissive and unprofessional. This is not how a well-run facility operates. It reflects poor planning, poor communication, and a lack of leadership.

He took the time to show me around the entire gym, answered every question I had professionally, and even gave me a complimentary guest pass even though I'm not from the area. The gym itself is clean, well-equipped, and has an awesome atmosphere. The only reason I didn't sign up for a membership is because there isn't a location that's convenient for where I live. If there were, I'd join without hesitation. Gustavo's professionalism and hospitality made an already great gym experience even better. Their equipment is also top-notch, especially the free weights--they use some of the best brands in the industry. Because of the high-end equipment, you'll notice that the membership fees are on the higher side. ​The Cons (Hygiene & Maintenance): Despite the nice gear, the facility is extremely dirty and feels like it's never been cleaned. The handles on the treadmills and ellipticals are often sticky, and there is a thick layer of dust underneath the machines. It's gross! If you've ever been to the Planet Fitness in Diamond Bar, you'll realize just how dirty Curl actually is. ​The most shocking thing I've witnessed is the cleaning process. The cleaning lady uses the same brush to scrub the inside of the toilet bowl and then the toilet seat. Seeing her scrub the bowl and then immediately wipe the seat with the same tool is horrifying! To be clear, she works very hard and I'm not blaming her personally--management simply hasn't provided her with the proper tools or training. Additionally, there is a light in the shower area that has been out forever and never gets repaired. ​Atmosphere & Service: Another bizarre thing is that they don't turn on the AC during the winter. It gets incredibly hot inside. Perhaps that's better for the elderly members, but it's uncomfortable for a real workout. Furthermore, the front desk staff is completely indifferent; when you walk in, they treat you like you're invisible. ​Bottom Line: I only kept this membership because my child has an enrichment class nearby, and it's a convenient place to wait. If my kid weren't taking classes in this area, I definitely wouldn't keep this membership.

There are plenty of parking spaces available, so you don't have to stress about finding a spot. The gym is relatively cleaner than others in the area, though it still has a long way to go: some areas are still in need of a better deep clean. The equipment is a mix: some of the machines are brand new, while others are older, but I'm really happy they recently opened a new section with fresh equipment. Plus, they have big plans: soon they'll be updating the floors and adding a VIP area with massage chairs! I'm really excited to see how that all turns out. On the downside, I do wish they would improve some other areas for example the steam room always has a bad odor, and the restrooms need more attention. But overall, I'm optimistic about the upgrades coming soon!

I like the location and the equipment, but management really needs to do a better job maintaining this gym. Right now it just doesn't feel clean the way a gym should.
