    I started FBBC about to years ago. I was not totally convinced that 30 min sessions were going to work on accomplishing my goals - but yes it works! The coaches are amazing! As a newbie they make you feel welcome and encourage you to keep going. As you progress, they come around giving you tips on how to improve your form and get the most of the exercises. The whole team truly cares about every member.

I know that they only have 19 reviews, but the five stars is what I ran with bottom line. I was greeted by Joanna, & she was considerate from beginning to end. She digs what she does, but she does not blast you with her enthusiasm which is very appreciated since I do not want a motivational speaker while someone is touching my face. She always gave a 3-5 second heads-up on what she was about to do, let alone always proactively explained the benefits without teaching a lesson. Her questions were non-confrontational, & her comments and replies were not judge-y. Finally, she always provided a quick scale of one to ten for each step of the process in order to recalibrate the time frame & not have me burn and/or suffer (or so that she would know to apply a bit more, so as to not shortchange me & my potential benefits). I will be back. Probably not between 5:00 PM & 6:30 PM next time, but thank you for making me forget about the traffic for the first time this year, Joanna!

The gym itself is clean, well-equipped, and has an awesome atmosphere. The only reason I didn't sign up for a membership is because there isn't a location that's convenient for where I live. Their equipment is also top-notch, especially the free weights--they use some of the best brands in the industry. Because of the high-end equipment, you'll notice that the membership fees are on the higher side. ​The Cons (Hygiene & Maintenance): Despite the nice gear, the facility is extremely dirty and feels like it's never been cleaned. The handles on the treadmills and ellipticals are often sticky, and there is a thick layer of dust underneath the machines. It's gross! If you've ever been to the Planet Fitness in Diamond Bar, you'll realize just how dirty Curl actually is. ​The most shocking thing I've witnessed is the cleaning process. The cleaning lady uses the same brush to scrub the inside of the toilet bowl and then the toilet seat. Seeing her scrub the bowl and then immediately wipe the seat with the same tool is horrifying! To be clear, she works very hard and I'm not blaming her personally--management simply hasn't provided her with the proper tools or training. Additionally, there is a light in the shower area that has been out forever and never gets repaired. ​Atmosphere & Service: Another bizarre thing is that they don't turn on the AC during the winter. It gets incredibly hot inside. Perhaps that's better for the elderly members, but it's uncomfortable for a real workout. Furthermore, the front desk staff is completely indifferent; when you walk in, they treat you like you're invisible. ​Bottom Line: I only kept this membership because my child has an enrichment class nearby, and it's a convenient place to wait. If my kid weren't taking classes in this area, I definitely wouldn't keep this membership.

That's when I decided to look for a personal trainer. From day one, I was impressed by Kacy's knowledge and expertise. He has this uncanny ability to gauge exactly how much I can lift just by watching me do a single set--which I'm guessing comes from years of experience, but it's still impressive to see in action. Here's the thing about Kacy that might throw you off at first: he often looks distracted, like he's not paying attention. But don't let that fool you! He's tracking everything--your form, your reps, your timing--and he'll call you out if you're slacking on your sets. It's actually kind of amazing how dialed in he is even when it doesn't look like it. If you're looking for a knowledgeable trainer who will push you and keep you accountable (even when you think he's not watching), Kacy's your guy. Highly recommend!

If you're on the fence about it I'd say give it a try. The classes are honestly hard but you can take it at your own pace, and it only gets easier. The first thing I noticed was how friendly both the staff and other exercisers were. The next thing I noticed was that the music was super fun (think 90s-early 2000s hits). Finally, I realized F45 was the best for me because there's so much variety and constant movement, I don't have a chance to get bored! I only have one day per week I can consistently commit to exercise, and the program/equipment is different each time. Shout out to Vickey and Berry, who are very encouraging and energetic. At the time, I was going to the gym, following random workouts on social media, and eating to my hearts content. I had very little knowledge regarding training, body composition, and nutrition. After a few months of working with JP, I started to not only gain momentum with my training but also began to see drastic changes to my body. I was so convinced and confident of my progress that I decided to take it to the next level, and compete in NPC as a figure competitor. In April of 2017, I competed in my first NPC show and placed 1st in women's figure. JP's guidance helped me overcome some of my deepest insecurities. In addition to all the things a personal trainer is expected to teach you, weight training, cardio regimen, and nutrition. JP also indirectly helped me with my confidence, mental clarity, advanced methods to training and nutrition, how my body responds to different types of foods, and the list goes on. These photos speak for themselves. The success and results I achieved with the guidance of JP are beyond exceptional. Although these achievements are great, what I cherish the most is the knowledge I gained from working with JP. I knew I was at the right place the moment I heard this because JP does not sugarcoat the challenges that I will face to get my business but serious about training me and helping me to reach my goal. The journey is challenging but fun. JP is dedicated and knowledgeable. He always tries to push you to a limit while paying great attention to the form and your reaction to make sure you do not get hurt. Trough out the time that I train with him, my body does fill sore but not pain. He also designs the session to train different muscle groups in a different way and different date so the muscles have enough time to recover. Besides training knowledge, he is also a very positive person who always shows his passion for helping others to be better. To me, JP is more than just a trainer but friend. I am glad that I met him and will keep up my journey with him.

But this is not a gym; it is a training facility where you work with trainers to tackle your physical goals. Next, this is about my trainer, Kevin Abandy. Kevin has been my trainer for exactly 8 weeks now and he is awesome! I made the decision to get a trainer after my birthday to truly invest in myself. You can invest in your own skills and education, but the return is almost always indirect. But with a trainer, specifically Kevin, I gained 8 lbs of muscle mass and lost 8% body fat (approx. 13-lbs of fat) after 8 weeks of training with him. Also, at the start of my training, I had back pain (from past injury to T12) and knee pains (from under the kneecap). Through Kevin's program and coaching, my pain has been reduced to near 0 with full mobility -- like squatting all the way down and up with 200-lbs of weight on my shoulders with no knee pain. I would give a 1-star review to keep it from getting crowded, but it would be hard for me to not tell others about the good that comes out of this place. My mom is 70 and she's training with Kevin too! And the story is the same for her... knee pains - GONE. Back pains - GONE. Mia adds good variety to our workouts and I definitively know that I push myself more during our sessions that I normally would have if I were doing the workouts by myself.
