I had a very disappointing experience with 24 Hour Lock and Key. After a long back-and-forth conversation where the technician collected all my car details, photos, and made multiple calls, he quoted me $260 to program and make a new key. I refused the offer because the price was unreasonably high - I had previously made and programmed a key for the same car model for only $120 elsewhere. Shortly after I declined, I received a text message with a different and unauthorized charge - clearly an attempt to pressure or trick me into accepting the service. This behavior is unacceptable and shows a clear intent to exploit people during stressful or urgent situations. I do not recommend this business to anyone. Be very careful if you contact them -- always compare prices and get written quotes in advance. read more

EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL WORK! I would Never recommend! All that was required was a re-key for a newly vacated rental. Instead, they literally drilled out a front door lock, then left all the shavings and hardware where they fell and left, then charged me 292.00!. Unfortunately, my management company could not stop payment before they cashed the check, hence this review. I requested the owner call me directly if they still disputed, but never heard from them. Do not, under any circumstances, use this business. I find it hard to imagine this is a legitimate business. The technician showed up in sweatpants and a locksmith sweatshirt with a different business name than 24 Hour Lock and Key. When I declined the quoted service, he tried to coerce me into paying it, asking what I was going to do all day if I didn't pay. His car was unmarked and his front license plate was missing. When I asked where it was, he said it fell off and asked me if I had a screw to put it back on. Asked, "What am I supposed to do?" when I said no. When I asked him for a business card, he showed me a magnetic business sign from his car and asked "Is that good enough? Does that work?" The phone number on the sign was different from that listed on Google and Yelp. The texted receipt for the $35 service fee (and $4 card fee) listed the wrong service address and no business name whatsoever. No one on the phone (several different phone numbers used for one incident) identified the business when they answered. I feel violated and vulnerable knowing they have my home address and credit card info. Update: after getting texts to my personal cell from two different numbers, I was offered a refund and was asked to take down my negative review in exchange. I own a rental property in Oregon, but I live out of state. My property management company contracted with them to rekey the locks. Four locks, all with Kwikset smartkey locks. You slip in the old key, do a quarter turn, slip a small tool into a special slot, and then insert the new key and turn it. I could have done all four locks in 10 minutes, easy. They charged $333.00. Do NOT make a car remote key from them! I'm not even putting 1 stars! I called them at 7am on Thursday, they said their technician would call at noon. I didn't hear anything so I had to call them. They said someone would come between 3-6pm. And he sent me text at 9pm on that day. I have kids and we are going to bed. They text me next day but I didn't trust them anymore. They text me on Saturday again and I let them do. And now I've been use if my remote key for 3 days. I have to press the buttons so many times to open the door. I called to have my lock on my car door fixed. I waited at my car at the time we'd established, no one. I had to call to inquire about the status of the technician to see when they'd arrive-- the guy on the phone couldn't tell me. The technician called me soon after to say he'd be there in about 20 minutes, 30 minutes+ after the time he'd said he'd be there originally. Once he arrived it was clear he had only brought the tools to deal with a car lock out. I did not just need to be let into my car, I needed the lock itself fixed which is what I'd requested. He said "Oh well I wasn't prepared for all of this", seemed annoyed, and then tried to still get me to pay $150 to let me into my car. Lost my motorcycle key Called around for really expensive quotes. One told me it could cost up to $385? Had to talk to key techs to get any idea how much it might cost for a "hard quote". Texted Omri via text. Lowest quote and told me 8am the next morning. Other places could only give a "window" of show up time. I don't often write reviews but the help/service that we received from Eric at 24hr lock and key was soooo good I needed to share it with the world. I was out of town and got a call from a neighbor @ around 5pm that someone had broken into our building through the front door, and propped open the back door. I called four different Portland OR area locksmiths and landed on 24 hour. They were prompt, super clear communicators, did great work, and truly seemed concerned not just about the functionality of the door and lock, but also the look, and price. I initiated contact with them around 6pm, and they were onsite within 45min. Eric bored out and installed new auto locking deadbolts on two doors by 10pm--they were punctual, clear, patient, hardworking, and diligent. Would work with them again in a heartbeat! read more

I called and told them that I needed to get into my car. The guy said the price is $75-150. When he shows up its $150. I said so when is it only $75 he said that the lower price is for mail boxes and stuff like that. So he lied to me over the phone because he knew from the phone call it was a car lock out. They just don't want you to say no over the phone so they mislead you on the price. dishonest. I am not the only one that this happened to. Absolute bait and switch, and literally the most unprofessional interaction I've ever had with a business or technician. They quoted us between $85 and $113 over the phone to get into our car (we were clear that the issue was that we were not able get in because someone had tried to steal the car, and had damaged one tumbler and broken a key off in the other), and then when the guy got to the vehicle he quoted us $185 to get the broken key out of the useable lock. When we refused and said this was not what we'd been quoted, he asked for the service fee to come out. They had never mentioned a service fee on the phone during the initial quote. When we declined to pay that because of the misquote, we were told "well, I was going to do the job for what you'd been quoted but now I won't because of how this went down." Unbelievable. read more

Update: I received a call this morning and the customer service was great. They refunded me a portion on the fee to match the range and apologized for the sub contractor not wearing a mask. Said it would take 15 minutes. It took 3 and walked away laughing. Stay away from this company! They do not train there technicians and just throw them out in the field with no experience. They do not pay their techs well and lie to them. They have no clue how to dispatch and do no vetting on the customers. they leave the pricing up to the technician and let them hang out to dry. You ask a question they have multiple different answers from representatives you can never get the same answer. They have no problem taking your money but if you need to cancel because you've got a solution they won't help you and they continue to keep the money. Never recommend them. read more

I needed to have a remote for my 2017 Nissan Altima programmed and I started with Davis Lock and Key in Beaverton. They told me they don't program car remotes purchased online and if I wanted them to do it, it would cost about $300.00. I then called 24 Lock and Key and they came to me house free of charge and programmed my keyless remote in 15 minutes for only $99!!!!!!!!!!!. Diego's customer service was over the top!!!! Kerry was very kind and courteous. He worked very quickly and got my door open in about 5 seconds. It took about 30 mins from the moment I called, to the time he arrived to my house. I would echo the other reviews in that the pricing should be more transparent. The operator told me "starts at $75" but when Kerry called, he told me about the $29 service fee. And THEN when he arrived he told me there was ALSO a $25 operation fee on top (why?) but then did me the "favor" of knocking that off because I complained about the additional fee and because my lock was so easy. read more

They use a call service to take basic info then have the company call you back which I didn't really like because I called several locksmiths and all used the same service so was a little confused who was calling me back/who I was dealing with. Once 24 hour lock and key called me back it was a great experience, the women who set up the appointment was friendly and able to book same day. Diego (the tech) showed up on time, was really nice and helpful. I needed 2 keys cut and programmed and he had it all done in about 20-30 mins. Mike came to repair a lock that was sticking and also install a 2nd lock. He made sure that all of the locks work well with the same key. He was prompt, friendly and did a great job with all of the locks. He also explained things carefully and showed me how to re-key the locks myself if I need to.
