This is actually the second time I've had to utilize BDR's services. The first time was when standing water ruined my hardwood flooring in the hallway between my dining room/open kitchen and my living room, as well as significant parts of both of those rooms, but because the flooring was seamless throughout the entirety of the first floor, ALL of the floor had to be pulled up. This time was not terrible and devastating; thank Goodness, this was a water leak from the upstairs guest bath. At least this time, I knew I had people to call who I was comfortable with and trusted, which made a HUGE difference. I felt considerably calmer this time, and a lot of that is because the young woman who first answered and did an assessment over the phone was incredibly patient and well-versed in everything about water damage and repair of water damage. She told me places to look that I would never have thought would be affected; she somehow knew better than I could articulate what we were dealing with. She walked me through the next steps until she was sure I understood since I was still frazzled. The tech she sent out was AMAZING. Cesar arrived just a few minutes after she and I hung up, and this guy was ON POINT. He seemed to know just as much as she did, and in the same calming, easy-going way, he walked me through everything he was doing, told me what each test was for, and then what the options were. I remember this same "bedside manner" from last time as well, and it's the reason I wanted to post this review. I can't recommend Blue Desert highly enough because they explained everything clearly and respectfully and made sure to double-check that I understood before moving on to the next thing. There's something about that kind of transparency when people know their business inside and out, so nothing is vague or rushed, and they're not alarmist because they're incredibly competent, and they aren't pushy or upselling, which has really turned me off of a lot of services because I feel like I can't trust a business that does that. The people I've dealt with at Blue Desert are transparent; they know what they are doing and do everything they say they will. They walk you through the steps of the plan before you take them, and then the next steps are what they said they would be. I had a terrible situation. My tenants were complaining about a terrible smell. Cesar Castro came to my house and inspected the crawlspace under the house and discovered the source of the odor. He advised me of the plumbing issues and coordinated with the plumber to prep the space before the plumber arrived, but also came back after the plumber completed the work to inspect and clean/disinfect. This company has a heart of gold if something goes wrong they're there to fix it, especially Sam! I was upset furious because one of the employees did. But we have discussed it and all is good. I really hope he gives these workers a raise because they drive from Palmdale and Lancaster and they're in the red if they look at it. They're very good workers except for that one.
