Very important. Look at the picture. John is now (4/2019) actually at 271 Canal Street. I went to 259 where someone actually fixes watches too, only when they saw it was complex they told me that "this is complex go to John, he is next door." John card however says 259 so not sure what the deal is. Ok John is super honest and very reasonable. In front of me he asked the customer to pay $50 for repairing 4-5 watches including replacing bands. The customer paid by mistake $70. He ran after the customer to return the $20. Then he quoted me $20 to fix a Quartz Tag Heuer and replace the battery. He spent a good 30 min but got it running. My watch had a broken mechanism he was not able to fix. John is now my guy! read more

Stopped by again since I needed a new watch battery and since it had been some time since my initial visit, I found it hard to find since most of the places along Canal St. all look the same from the street. I had to look for the address number which was a bit hard as well since most places didn't have the number listed on the outside. Then I remembered the lit up red and blue LCD lights above Mr. Le's work area and saw them from the street. I gave him the watch and a new battery was $5. I also needed my current watch to be a bit loosened and although he just adjusted the watch, he didn't charge me for that. Come here for any watch repairs or adjustments. As others noted, this shop has moved down a few doors. the watch stand is in the back of the store. I went three times, Friday and Monday the stand was closed, guy was finally there on Tuesday. Mentioned I had two watched that needed batteries replaced. Was told it was $10... for each watch. Asked about doing $10 total as others said it was $5 each and that was the cash I brought to pay. Answer was no, gentleman turned around and continued watching his movie. Obviously a shop owner is entitled to sell their services at whatever price they want, but was overall disappointed. not sure if the actual owner is on vacation and this person was covering, but wanted to share the price increase with others. read more

Passing by, this place looks just like any of the other tourist trap, knick knack places around, but trusting some reviews I read, I took my watch to be resized, and they very quickly looked at it, checked how many links I needed taken out, and got it all done in 5 min, charging me $100th in the process. read more

This location is not closed! I was there today, and have been going to Mr. Lee for my watch batteries and minor repairs for 15 years. I wouldn't go anywhere else. He always has the batteries I need (and at a great price -- they were $5 each for the watches I brought in today), and takes extra care to clean away any dust or dirt. He's even adjusted my watchband clasp when it wasn't closing properly. He treats even the least expensive child's watch with respect and care. read more

After reading the 2 glowing reviews for Mr. Lee I went to him since I had 2 new watches that needed their bracelets adjusted. Found the place with no problem since I Google mapped the address and got the street view. It is, indeed, directly across Canal Street from McDonalds. Mr. Lee did a great job and made sure that I was happy with the fit. He placed the removed links and pins in plastic envelopes for me to take. $5.00 cash per watch, which is the minimum he charges (posted in plain sight). I was in and out in a matter of minutes. Highly recommended. There is a man working in the same store who was giving me a hard sell to buy cologne but it was easy to just say no after a couple of sniffs and walk out. I guess you can't blame a guy for trying but I would question the authenticity of the merchandise. read more
