Wow! This place is huge! Don't bother with any of the other thrift stores in Laurel....just go here! On my first visit, I was overwhelmed and left with only a set of place mats. Today, I was mentally prepared and had a list. After browsing nearly the entire store, I scored a hoodie, long sleeved corduroy shirt, a pair of Hilfiger denim shorts, 2 paperback books and some framed artwork for less than 25 bucks. Clothing is neatly arranged by color and type/size. Prices are great, especially on Sundays and Mondays when certain color price tags are 50 percent off. Go expecting to spend a good deal of time here but you will walk out with some great deals. read more

I've been going to Laurel 2nd Ave Thrift for years and I'm still amazed! Generally you can't go to a thrift store with a list and find specifically what you want, but 90% of the time I do at 2nd Ave! When I don't find it the first time, I can pretty much count on finding it on my next visit. The inventory is huge and there's lots of turnover, so there are always fun new items. Sometimes their marked prices are high, but two tag colors are 33% or 50% off every day. That, along with occasional holiday and special half-off sales, make my actual purchase prices very reasonable. The store is well organized with a friendly staff and customers. The selection in this thrift store is incredible. This place is huge and very well organized. It is also the cleanest second hand shop I have ever been to. When I moved I ended up getting ALL my kitchen stuff from here for like 20 dollars. I've gotten all sorts of crazy deals from here and it's pretty fun to see what you can snag. So I use to shop here on sale days mostly, until I was in one Friday morning looking for something and I noticed they were removing all of items from the racks with green and orange tags. So I said to my daughter I bet that is going to be the sale colors for the next week. We went back on Sunday and guess what the sales colors were you guessed it orange and green. During this covid 19 , I went to purchase this mini frige for 9.99 , before I had walked into the store there was a sign that sid orange and yellow colors are off , so I picked it up m oh nd you the mini frige was locked and didn't open , there for we asked for a discount and the lady gave us misleading information , saying "I honestly dont know what are colors are we change them" as I tried to tell her about the sign she acted confused and seem to not care . The store smelt bad , and some people weren't wearing a mask , therefore I am appalled at the prices and the lady at stqnfinh there not doing her job at the dressing room looking at us black people trying to figure out how to open it . read more

I have a thing for thrift stores. I've [proudly] visited over 30 Goodwill stores. So when I say that this thrift store is worth 5 stars I mean it. I was a search for a spring dress and not only did I find my dress but I also found another dress, 3 shirts, and a pair of shoes. Both dresses were under $10 and one of the shirts was Michael Kors and the other was Loft. The store has a LARGE variety of purses, home decor, clothing, accessories, and shoes. I will definitely be back to this location and will definitely be visiting the other locations in Maryland! read more

They used to be an excellent value now some items are priced more than at a regular store. Be careful buying crystal, China, or commonly known designers. Those are over priced. Excellent designers that are not commonly known but very high end you can get very at a cheep price. The reason for the low rating is their over pricing, long lines, and poor customer service. Try the 2nd avenue in Columbia MD. It's smaller but higher end quality merchandise and great customer service. read more

Best. Thrift. Store. Ever*. For my college group, we had a skit night and the losing team had to attend our Bowling Night the following week dressed in bama outfits of our choosing. We outfitted an entire team of 10 for $40. The best haul - an 80s style, nylon, teal/green track suit with tapered legs for $5, which was one of the more expensive items. Huge selection, easy color-coded discount system, and the clothes and merchandise are surprisingly well organized. I think Sunday's are 1/2 off everything. I've bought an entire season's wardrobe for my baby girl for the price of an item or two at Gymboree. "But that's so dirty," you say. Well, you see, there was this little invention called the washing machine and it has this setting on there called Hot, and--you may want to sit down for this--it washes your clothes in hot water. And the amazing part is, if you're seriously afraid of contamination, you can wash it again! Admittedly, I'm still a bit of a n00b and don't know the exact days they put new merch on the floor and when the discounts are steepest, but on any given day, you can expect to find a sweet deal. Extra Bonus: The times I've been here, the checkout people have been seriously on point. You know how some people at grocery stores are confused about prices and sometimes need to ask for price checks? Never here. They fly through your purchase. The parking in front is plentiful as the adjacent stores are a subpar steakhouse and failing furniture stores. The Dollar Tree is one of the best Dollar Trees I've been to and you can get your fat on at OCB for about $10/person. I love Laurel! *For shopping purposes only. Too Expensive! Its massive and Ive never seen a store so well organized before! Not even first hand retail stores are this organized. My favorite things to look for are vintage and antiques. Like this cute antique lamp I bought. Ive bought down coats, wine glass racks, curtains, and assorted housewares. I love looking at their tea sets which are overpriced imo but Im a bargain hunter. Would have given this place all the stars but whoever is pricing this stuff is greedy. I once saw an old package (like the package was yellowed and dusty) of lightbulbs for 5 dollars. They recently relocated down to the other side of the plaza. It's also now called Second Avenue Value Store. It's MUCH nicer. And they have A/C! It's probably 3 times the size of the old store and has nicer fitting rooms and bathrooms. The bathrooms are pretty gross though and none of the stall doors actually lock, but there is a family restroom available that is probably the best choice. There are tons more cashiers and the lines go through a lot faster. Everything is organized and their shoes actually have their own aisles now. Lots more books available! It's clean and new - much easier to navigate. They still have great things and I left with a bag full of name brand items! Love this spot. read more

I heart them. This is my kinda store, I could spend hooourrsss in there. Whether you're cruising around the store, which kind of reminds me of a super walmart, or you need something in particular, this is THE BEST thrift store. Its so well organized and I continually find awesome brand new/ like new/GUC stuff for me and my daughter who won't stop growing. Recently I needed a snowsuit for my daughter. We walked in, went to the back left corner to the kids section, all the snow suits and pants were grouped together. Found 1 pair of LANDS END snow pants, 1 pink Osh b gosh snowsuit, like new condition, spent $8 for both. Pshhhhh. Pass me some savings please. Another day, Im cruising on half off Thursday, head by the 9/10 section of shoes. I find a pair of heels, two pairs of almost brand new adult brown UGG boots for me (19.90 each) AND a pair size 12 purple bow tie uggs for my daughter 4.90. Got a flat iron, scarf, Xmas cookie jar, 2 sweaters and something else. and paid something around $78. A steal is a steal. I think my toes are tingling just thinking about it. This is an "OK" thrift store. It is one of the larger ones in the area, but as large a store as it is, it often feels very cramped and crowded. The bargains are often hit or miss, and you definitely have to take your time and look through everything with a fine toothed comb to find the good stuff. I certainly would never accuse the management of keeping the store clean, and I always want a shower after leaving. If one doesn't have the luxury of shopping at the mall for clothing, the selection and variety of sizes to be found here will likely suit immediate needs. I went back last night to look for stuff to do some crafting and upcycling for Xmas gifts. Wow - did I score big! I got a pair of men's burton snowboard boots on sale for less than $10. An adult 5150 snowboard for around $15. A pair of Cuadro women's cowboy boots for around $15 - I looked online and these go for $200+ brand new! I got a bunch of belts and cheap costume jewelry for my crafting projects. And my FAVORITE find was getting a pair of HUDSON designer jeans for only $6.90!!!!! If you don't know what these are, these jeans can cost hundreds of dollars for ONE pair! This is one of my go-to thrift stores in the area. They also have a store in Columbia, I find the selection in Columbia to be slightly better (I'm searching for high-end finds) but I love the Laurel location as well. The selection is MASSIVE, most of the clothes are in great condition, the store is clean and well maintained, and there are dressing rooms so you can try everything on. Whoever does the merchandising and pricing knows their brands. The higher end labels are priced a bit higher and put on end cap racks, but good steals are still to be had! I tend to go on Sunday when certain tag colors are 50% off. J crew, banana republic, Ann Taylor, INC, Ralph Lauren - you can find them here but you have to be willing to look for them. I mostly buy clothing at their two locations, but they have a great scarves selection, sunglasses, coats/jackets. Check it out! read more

I do not typically write reviews but I downloaded this app just to write a review about this particular store. This is a great thrift store. I usually cannot afford clothes for myself and am always buying for the kids. Here I can spend what I normally spend on both kids at other stores but for the entire family instead! The 50% off four color tags days on Sundays and 50% four color tags plus 33% on an additional tag are great. If you get there early you can snatch up the good stuff. I spent less than 50 bucks on a Sunday on an entire winter/fall wardrobe. I bought 2 heavy sweaters, 2 light sweaters, 5 long sleeve shirts, a sport jacket, 3 hats, 4 pairs of gloves (one leather), 3 hats and 3 scarves. Half the shirts I bought still had tags and even the used merchandise was in excellent condition. I can dress like I came out of a Kohls or Target in multiple outfit options. Yes, I am serious. The store is very organized and clean. A few cons Dressing room and bathroom are tiny I used my debit card and the money went through almost 3 weeks later (I don't know if this always happens because I shopped there before for toys and husband clothes and did not happen) so I just suggest using cash. This is the best thrift store I have ever been to! I live right down the street so I find myself going there at least 2 times per week. I have a 10 year old daughter and I've been very lucky finding brand new and like new, brand name clothes for her. The women's section is huge and there are a lot of brand names. The men's section is very impressive, especially the sweaters and jackets. Saturday morning is the best day to go because the store is so well organized and things are not picked through. On Sundays you get better deals but that's when all of the extra cheap skates come out and things are just thrown all over the place, it's too crowded and it's hard to find the nicer items because they've already been hoarded in someones shopping cart. Go on a Saturday morning, spend a couple dollars more per item and you'll have a much better experience. read more

As thrift stores go, this is probably THE best you will find in the area. It doesn't have that thrift store stench that most thrift stores have, it's very spacious and very well organized..most of the clothes are even colored coordinated. There are a ton of things to chose from in a variety of sizes. You can easily go in there and get tons of clothes and spend next to nothing. It is a little "pricier" (if you want to call it that) than a lot of the thrift stores around, but I don't even think that is a bad thing..although some may. They have added Thursday as a discount day, so you now have three days to get an even deeper discount. I often find brand new with tags items in here. You really can't go wrong here..no complaints. read more

Huge store, as everyone has already mentioned. It has lots of clothes that are pretty well organized for a thrift store (some of the things may have been put on misplaced racks by consumers). Being on the smaller side, I found some really nice winter jackets/coats that just didn't fit me. :( The rest of the store is also pretty organized by section. I looked around and found some very new purses for under $5. I also bought some scarves and a fleece hat for less than $5. As I was getting ready to head out, I saw a band new bag (with all the plastic wrapped on it) for about $13 and got that too. They also have kitchen stuff, electronics, and kid's stuff (clothes, books, toys) on sale as well, so there is something for everyone, all priced reasonably. And if you can't find what you want, there is a Dollar Tree next to this store as well! read more

I have visited this store a bunch of times and this experience was the pits. I was in the store for an hour found one shirt for my daughter, went to pay and was told I couldn't buy it cause the tag looked funny. Are you serious? My daughter was in tears. The shirt was $7. I shop a lot and I understand policy's but I didn't see what they were talking about and if the tag was changed why would anyone put $7 on a shirt? This is a very good second-hand store -- interesting and unexpected merchandise, generally excellent employee service. The only star off is due to an upsetting incident of late. I was more than put off by an older employee's culling the shelved housewares and throwing glassware, mugs, bowls, etc. into a service cart; pieces of glass flew out of it as she tossed things, some of which missed. As someone who often donates good items, I felt for anyone who gave in good faith only to have them come to that end. Since it was well into the store's Saturday hours, this type of activity--if even necessary--should have been curtailed until after closing. Moreover, the broken glass was a hazard to anyone (especially kids) walking nearby. Otherwise, though, the Laurel store does a great job. Will definitely return soon. read more

I was excited about walking straight to the girls section to shop for myself, thinking it was going to be organized. The denim for girls had extra small woman's denim. Nice suggesting, or a mistake, or a customer... But it made me change my mind. The sales were nice and I like how it was labeled by color. At this point since nothing was organized correctly, I was brand and material shopping. This is the perfect place to go for a pro thrifter. It general I like the store, mostly prices, but a couple of times I experienced real problems. One time items were stolen from me after I paid for them. Staff member showed me recording from store camera showing a guy grabbing my bag while his woman was paying for just one item. Some staff members are rude and unprofessional. I was standing in line that went into the shelving area with books. As I waited there, the line all the sudden was turned to go towards the back of the store. This shift was made mid-way through the line. The people that were waiting there after that point were told to go to the back of the line even though we were in line before the line got shifted. The manager didn't care that we were there first. He just keep saying to go to the end. I put down my one item and left. This was handled very badly!! read more

This place is incredible! It has as much stuff, probably more, than most large Goodwill stores but it has so much more space, you don't feel like you're being suffocated. They have tons of kitchen stuff and other house wares, plenty of clothes (not great stuff but lots of it), hundreds of purses, and just about anything else you could want. The only section I was disappointed in was the furniture, very sparse. I ended up with 3 picture frames for my desk, a ceramic jar for sugar, and a mexican painted jar for my pens for $11. This is hands down my favorite thrift store in Maryland. The selection is huge and, though often dated, there are always gems to be found if you're willing to paw through. I tend to have the best luck with shoes but I've walked away with amazing finds in every category. Basic sewing skills help a lot since many of the clothes are almost-perfect-but-not-quite-right. Prices have gotten higher over the years so Sundays are the best time to go since everything is half off. It does get crowded though, so be prepared to forego a shopping cart. read more
