Marshall's located in Laurel, Maryland was once an unbelievable oasis overflowing with real name brand leather handbags, exclusive fashions that you would see in this store at the same time they were for sale at bigger stores like Macy's. This Marshall use to carry beautiful Kate Spade, bags and modern dresses from BCBG. Now it's all fashion for frumpy grandmas and old church ladies. This Marshall's use to be the go to place for unique quality shoes and delicious styles. The store was clean and organized in a way that made it feel like a more prestigious store. It always felt like this Marshall's was a far far class above TJ Maxx and totally far beyond the league of Ross Dress For Less which is set up like a disorganized thrift store. Unfortunately, whomever is managing Marshall's worldwide has done it a terrible disservice. They have reorganized the set up of this store so that it now resembles the bargain basement Ross Dress for Less snd every local thrift store. The shoes use to set up nicely like notable shoe stores with shoes visibly set on top of a row and all the sizes of that shoe in their individual boxes under the top displayed shoe. Now Marshslls has reorganized and set up their shoes in close rows like those old Payless stores where the shoes are not easily visible snd you have to go on a hunt row by row looking for shoes or a particular shoe. Also, they cut the tops off of the shoe boxes so you cannot store the shoes nicely when you get home. This shoe set up makes the store feel cheap. In addition to various other issues, Marshall's no longer carries dresses. Well they have maybe 30 dresses that look like they have been there for years. Most of their dresses are outdated and not organization. The handbag quality has also declined. Marshdlls no longer carries nice Italian leather and name brand bags. Now Marshalls carries cheap handbags like Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. All the items appear as though the buyer for this store is 85 or 90 years old and never heard of fashion. The place looks sad inside. It needs a coat of paint on the walls and someone who knows how to organize a store. They really need help staging this space. The bathrooms snd fitting rooms are also of concern. They appear as though they are never cleaned. Marshall's please make changes. Your store is declining in every way. read more

As a hispanic woman I felt targeted in this store by a lady named " roxi " as when I checked out she kept asking. me if I wanted to have a card with them and I said no multiple times. She was being very pushy and after the 6th time of saying no she acted very rude towards me. And I feel as shes only targettig hispanic people as she only pushed for hispanic people to get a card and no other people. As i was reading the reviews someone had the same situation happen to them and im very displeased and that she hasnt gotten a report or even fired what kind of store is this? This is terrible they need to read there reviews cause this is horrible fot business especially having a woman like her, trying to basically scam people into getting cards. read more

Best of both worlds, marshalls and homegoods. I like how first thing you see when you come in Christmas decorations and products are out on display. They are doing good job on covid-19 sanitization, call carts are beong wiped down. You can pretty much anything marshalls and homegoods can offer. Staff are really friendly, reasonable prices, quick check outs, planty of parking . Its just perfect. read more

I really liked this location! This store evidently is called Marshalls Homegoods now (two in once). There were so many home items that I wanted to buy, I was delighted to see the extensive selection. I was also looking for a handmade pillow from India with an elephant on it, which is oddly specific but this store came very close to one. They have an entire Colors of India section, with tons of pillows and decor from India. I've never seen such a vast selection! The staff were friendly and helpful, and the fitting room area was clean and in good condition. The men's section was neatly organized by size (super helpful and a time saver), and there were quite a few racks with clearanced clothing. I couldn't resist! Checkout was fast and efficient, with an automated machine announcing which register number is free and available for the next customer in line. read more

It is now six years after my last review and this store has added their Homegoods brand to the same space about 4 years ago. EXPENSIVE. TOO EXPENSIVE. This is not Chevy Chase ya'll. All I can say is ditto pros and cons for m earlier post, and what is still awful and pathetic are the employees. They employees are poorly trained and apathetic and rude without reason. Other nicer people may need a job these unfriendly ones do not need to be dealing with humans! Not enough carts, not enough shoe selection, personal care/makeup part of their store is always a mess and trashed. No care for sunglasses, jewelry always a mess and the place is dusty and grimy. They did a dis-service by cutting out products women crave and putting in Homegoods. Not a good move cuz women are shopping elsewhere. This is a Dual store: HomeGoods/Marshall's, and to be honest, both sides are pretty sad. Don't waste your time with the HomeGoods side as it barely has anything. The marshalls side, again isn't what you might expect. Drive to Olney or Columbia if you need to go to HomeGoods. It didn't help that there were kids running Ning around, uNattended, playing "hide'n seek." read more

It's a typical Marshall's but it's also a home goods. So it's likes a Marshall's on steroids! I've seen this concept in Tyson's corner and at the Potomac Mills mall. To be honest it's a little overwhelming and I seldom end up purchasing anything because I can't decide if I want clothes or something to decorate my house with. This particular location is organized well and there were about three racks of clearance racks. Mostly umbro, north face, and polo sweaters. They fit a little different than the ones that you would purchase at the mall. Overall it's a good store but needs to focus on one thing either clothes or home furnishings not both! read more

Unfortunately one of the staff member "Brenda" from the laurel shopping center where I shopped today was so rude to another employee while processing my transaction it was very unpleasant and disrespectful, I highly believe in "treat others how you would like to be treated" and hoping she realizes how bad of a conduct she provided and apologizes to her coworker. read more

So I love a good Marshalls or HomeGoods, but to have them both in one store, I don't know. I have been in this location several times and to be honest with you, I still don't know what to think of it. This location is in the Laurel strip mall nestled right at the bottom of the plaza near the LA Fitness. Upon entry, because this is a two in one store, it is divided down the middle and it seems a little more cluttered. Right at the front, there is a table with seasonal items.I personally love to decorate with seasonal items, so having these items right up front is a bonus to me! To the right is the Marshalls, with clothing, shoe and luggage options available. To the left is the HomeGoods side with plenty of houseware options to choose from. I personally do not shop at Marshalls for clothing options, so I always go to the HomeGoods side. I just moved to this area about 6 months ago, so I am always looking for something for my place. I personally feel like both stores have been shorted with this concept and location. Meaning that the stock for both stores are limited. Don't get me wrong, you can find good things in both sides, but I prefer a straight HomeGoods or a straight Marshalls. This place can work in a pinch! But if you want to take your time, go to a HomeGoods or a Marshalls. The customer service here is alright. It is touch and go. Sometimes, it is very good and other times, it is just ok. I love shopping at what I affectionately call Trifecta (Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Homegoods) but I guess it is really a five-fecta with the additions of Sierra and Homesense : ) I love scouring the store whether I'm looking for home décor, clothing, shoes, handbags (my weakness) or even travel accessories and pet items. You never know what you are going to find and I've learned the hard way- you cannot come in and expect to find a specific item. You can try and that is part of the thrill of the hunt but inventory changes often and it can be a hit or miss. Then, if you are lucky, not only did you score a good find but possibly you scored a yellow or red clearance sticker even better! If you made a bad decision and left something behind, you may regret and never find it again. For that reason, my daughter and I adopted this motto- buy now return later. I guess I also learned that from my mom. Buy it, take it home and try it on a few times and ponder it over and if you really don't want it, take it back. Another excuse to check out that inventory on that date. The best part is their rewards cards! You earn points which translate to dollars to spend on future purchases. So sad I didn't know about this when it first came out and routinely said no when asked if I wanted to save 5% or more, I mean duh. So now when they ask, I'm like well yes, it's my favorite card! On top of that, I am pretty sure they have good features for international travel. I don't believe there are foreign transaction fees, at least when I inquired in the past. It will soon be time to inquire again. The reason I am writing this review for this particular store is that recently an error occurred with my transaction on Mother's Day. I won't go into the details because I don't want someone to take advantage in a dishonest way but when I brought it to the manager's attention, she offered a fair and fast resolution. I have never had any issues in the past so it was just reassuring to know that they addressed the concern and trusted me as a valued customer. I love Marshalls! read more

I LLOOVVEE this Marshall's. I go everytime I get paid. Not to mention they redid the whole store to be a lot more convenient and up to date! There is stuff in here for everybody!!!! I don't know about your Marshall's but PG Plaza & Laurel's are the sh!t especially if you a stylish chick like me. The staff here are ssssssoooooo nice!!! You may have to sort through some items to find that "special piece" but believe me, it's there!! Make sure you go the evening of a shipment!! read more

This Marshalls is clean and most often have pleasant personnel working there. I found myself going to this store more often then others. Of course it's Marshalls, so some times you will found something and others, you will just have to check in once in a while. At this time the store is transitioning to winter clothing. Since the renovation, the store is cleaner, however since the renovation I have not been that successful with finding ca-ute shoes. The housewares area is decent, but that's the only area of the store that keeps it consistent. When they're hot... They're hot, but when they're cold..... They're WAY COLD. The kids clothes section have reasonable prices as well, but the only downfall is the same items are also sold in the competitions store. Despite the inconsistencies, I'll be back. read more
