I hate to do this to a company that has a lot of good reviews. But this is a case of an owner with an ego. I brought my work truck into his shop to get the transmission rebuilt. I was told it would take 4 days. Got a call after 3 weeks they were having problems. They kept telling me it was not the transmission but a sensor (TPS) that was causing it to surge when it warmed up. That I would need to take it to a shop that worked on diesel's . I paid them in cash over $3000. Drove the truck 5 minutes and had to call them. There was no surge issue. It would not go into 3rd gear. The transmission was slipping in and out of the other gears. He said it was not the transmission. He had been rebuilding transmissions for over 25 years. It was a sensor, I got the truck home, drove it to my mechanic the next day. He told me is was NOT the sensor Louis was claiming. My mechanic said it was the transmission. I called Louis and he again said there was nothing wrong with the transmission. "DONT BRING IT BACK TO HIM THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION". So I took it to a transmission shop. They confirmed it was the transmission. Call K2 again asked for them to take care of it. Louis said there was nothing wrong he could do because there was nothing wrong with transmission. So I paid the second shop to rebuild it again. It only had 35 total miles on it after leaving 2B shop. I was in the 2nd shop saw my truck up in the air tranny was out and on a table. He showed me the issue. 3 gear clutches were destroyed. I told him to rebuild it all over I don't know if 2B used crap parts. The second shop did a great job. And they charged less than 2B. I call Louis again . Asked how he wanted to handle this. He said if I was having problems with it why didn't I bring it back to him. It's under warranty. I said I called you numerous time s to get you to fix it and he said "NO"every time. I said just pay the bill from the second shop and I will call it even, he said the second shop charged me to much money. The second shop was almost $700 less than what 2B charged me. It was at this time Louis said they don't normally work on diesel trucks. He should have been honest with me from the start. So hear we are he does not want to refund or pay what I paid the second shop. His offer? I have a credit for future repairs. lol So all I can say hopefully if you choose to take your vehicle there Louis without the ego is there. I am sure he is I nice guy. Louis with the ego is a bad mechanic. Louis you know who this is after all my phone calls and what truck that you did a horrible job on and kept my money. read more

Finding a good, reliable mechanic has got to be one of the single, most terrifying and necessary evils on earth. After having read through hundreds of reviews, good, bad, recommended and not, being on the waiting list over a week for 2 of my friends' trusted mechanics (who were already overbooked with business), I was finally at a point that I had to take my chances or be without a car. I'm lucky that my brother can do most of my minor maintenance for me, and I'm pretty good with following instructions, so I've been able to fix things like door locks, rear view mirrors, and window motors. But when it comes to major repairs, I have no choice but to take it to an expert. I had a decent list of possible things based on previous posted repairs of the same make and model that I thought might be wrong when I chose this particular mechanic, one of them being the transmission. I was prepared for the worst, and told Luis as much when I brought the car in. Luis got my car in and diagnosed it the same day, and to my surprise, it wasn't the transmission. Luis was very up front and cautiously optimistic about the simple fix and said to watch it closely for the next 3 weeks to see if that corrected things and if it did not, then I may need to bring it back in. He also mentioned that my rear brakes might soon need to be replaced, and when I said that I wouldn't mind if he went ahead and did that this time, he said that there was still a bit left on them and that I should wait the 3 weeks in case the same issue showed back up (in which case the repair would be extremely expensive and I may decide not to keep my car since it had a lot of miles on it). I called this shop after I felt that AAMCO was taking advantage of me and my 2008 Mazda 3's transmission problem. Luis indicated that what AAMCO was saying didn't make sense and that they should be able to diagnose the issue without completely removing and disassembling my car's transmission. Within hours of having my car towed here, Luis called me to tell me the issue was my car's transmission computer and in no way the actual transmission. Great Mechanic brought my GF's car to Luis because of the air conditioner and he took care of the problem after we got ripped off by AAA which we thought was a great plan at first due to AAA being a big company and all which we were wrong they charged us and still had the same problem. I've waited far too long to offer a review of this business. My wife and I have been taking our vehicles to 2B for years, since shortly after they opened. Luis and his brother are simply the best, period. Imagine that you have a good friend or family member who is an expert and experienced mechanic, and you know that if they do the work it will be done right and you will get the lowest possible price. That's what you experience here. Example #1: My wife's high-mileage Trailblazer needed ball joints and bearings, in addition to other suspension work. Had I taken it to a dealership the bill would've been over $2,000 easily. (I know, because I worked as a service advisor at a couple of dealerships) 2B did the work last year for under $800 and the car has performed fine since. Example #2: Recently I took my older, high-mileage Toyota SUV in because the check engine light was on and it was time for the emissions test. Turned out to be a bad catalytic converter. Typically that means a repair bill of well over $1,000. ('Cats' are expensive because of the elements they contain) Luis called me with the bad news after doing the diagnosis. Then he called me again, but with very good news: he found a reliable 'aftermarket' (i.e.: much more inexpensive than an "OEM"--Original Equipment Manufacturer--version) converter. (Note that I specified a reliable catalytic converter. Many aftermarket cats are poorly made with cheap materials and will fail prematurely, often before you can get from the repair shop to the emissions testing station. Luis made sure he found a good one.) I had him change the oil with synthetic. He replaced an air filter, a radiator cap, and--get this--even fixed my broken radio antenna. I forgot to mention the antenna when I dropped off the vehicle, but when I brought it up over the phone, he informed me that he had already repaired it. Total bill: $617.00 I'd give these guys 10 stars if I could. read more

When the AAA facility quoted me $5000 for an engine swap after the timing belt broke on my '07 Eclipse, I called 2B and asked Luis if he could do it for less. He came back with a quote $1500 below the AAA price for an engine with 10,000 fewer miles. Great! Then he recommended we put a new timing belt on and see if the engine really needed to be replaced. Long story short, the engine ran great with a new timing belt & water pump. He saved me so much that I had him take care of all the other things on my maintenance "to do" list and got my car back the next morning with less than $1500 out of pocket. Louie is a straight up guy with an honest garage. My father has been doing business with him for 6+ years and he kept telling me to take my car here. I previously took my Prius into the dealer thinking this might be a specialty Prius issue that maybe the dealer would have some sort of special insight on my issue. They told me I was going to have to replace the generator and possibly another expensive repair to fix my issue. Well Louie fixed it for considerably less than the dealer quoted due to them wanting to completely replace a major component of the car. I was a wholesale car dealer and have hundreds of cars repaired at his shop. HONESTY is the most important for me. I just dropped a car where it wasn't starting this morning. I believed it was the starter. He checked it for 45min then he told me there is nothing wrong with the starter. It is the key that is not programmed for the car.
