First visit. Great waitress. Nice looking place. But this is not a BBQ place. They had a nice smell walking by and that's where it ended. My daughter had the catfish, which she raved about with collards. Basic filets that tasted good but the coating had no crunch and they greens were tasteless. She said they are usually much better. I went with the Brisket sandwich, there was no plates just a sandwich. It was touch and dried out meat. It was definitely not cooked by and smoke or fire. My guess is microwave. We go here rather often, and have invited others along. Good family place -- a pretty explicitly Christian owned restaurant. Service is cheerful and accurate. Prices are reasonable. Parking is on-steeet. Children's portions and meals available. Now, the food. I always get the same thing -- fried catfish, a mess of collard greens, and sometimes fried okra. The fish is epic. Crispy and hot on the outside, sweet and tender on the inside. Never yet, in my experience, under or overdone. And the greens -- best I have ever had. Anywhere. If you miss a mess of greens like back home, this is the place. Now, there's lots more -- shrimp and frog legs, and different things from cattle and pigs. I've just never tried them. My wife thinks the pulled pork sandwich is splendid, as is the Mac 'n cheese she usually gets. Guess you'll have to see for yourself. read more

Not a true bbq house, had fried and baked dishes as well. Not what I was expecting, but all good. First the sides. A solid Mac and cheese! Very cheesy! Green beans are usually over cooked, but not these! Firm and buttery! Now the meat. I'm not a huge fan of the meat coming out with bbq sause already on the meat. The meat was tasty with a good portion size. And half the brisket was cut wrong with long strands. Best side was the corn bread. Sweet and moist. Decided to take a drive for some BBQ today. I typically try to stay within an hour of Columbus. So I had read a little about 2G's and made the drive out to Bellefontaine. Ordered the 4 rib special, it came with 2 sides. I ordered collard greens, mac n cheese and ordered additionally baked beans and cornbread. Also an iced tea. Bill came to 15 bucks. Pretty cheap for the amount of food. Now for the food. The ribs, because that is what it was all about. These ribs had a phenomenal bark on them. Most ribs our wet when you get them but these dry as can be and had such a great taste, inside they were super moist. The ribs are cooked with hickory and apple wood. You could definitely taste the smoky flavor. The bones just broke into pieces as I tore the meat off them. No utensils here, that's what your hands were made for. No sauce even needed. The greens had the slightest touch of vinegar that blended well with them. Mac n cheese was of the baked version with just a small bite from the cheese. Great consistency. Baked beans were okay but could have used a little kick to them. They were still okay, Cornbread had a sweet taste to it and was nice and moist. Put some butter and it melted perfectly. Talked with George the owner for just a minute, You could tell that he is married to the business. Some people are in it totally for the money and then there are those that it is there life. He has been doing it for 9 years now and has definitely perfected his craft. The restaurant has probably 12 tables in it. Plenty of room. The waitress was on it, she checked in a timely manner and had refills when needed. I will definitely be back. Great story on the back of the menu. Pretty inspiring. read more

I was in Bellefontaine on business and happened by 2Gs looking for a lunch spot. Will start by saying this wasn't at all what I expected. I think of bbq as sliced beef, chicken, turkey, etc, slow cooked and served with sauce and sides. This isn't that. The menu is full of comfort food with cheeky descriptions. I opted for the pork chop. The server first brought out THE BEST CORNBREAD I'VE EVER EATEN! Warm from the oven, the luscious squares were nicely sweet and moist. This alone was worth the trip! The pork chop was lightly breaded and fried. Moist and tasty. My sides, baked beans and green beans, were good but not great. (And thanks to the server for noting that the slaw had pineapple in it (eww), saving me from a bad choice.) Bellefontaine is pretty far off the beaten path, but if I'm back, I'll be back! read more

I have been here twice, I have also been to events that they cater. If you dont get into the restaurant early in the evening they will run out of the fan favorites. Which is disappointing. However at least you know they cook it fresh. All the events they have catered the food has been very well prepared. Overall a good restaurant to eat at but the service is slow. Had a great time there on Thursday night. Family drove in from Lima, we drove up from Dublin. Ribs and catfish was my choice. The ribs were tender and had an amazing dry rub. I have heard great things about this place so my wife and I decided to try it out when we were in town visiting my parents. I love BBQ and this place was ok. I just had the pulled pork so my review may change when I try the ribs next time as I hear they are pretty good. My wife had the catfish and it was pretty good. I wasn't impressed with my dessert. I had the caramel apple crisp and it wasn't very good. Soggy crisp and it was heated up in the microwave. It didn't have a good flavor either. I will give them a 2nd chance at some point. read more

When a Buckeye waitress doesn't bat an eye when you ask for sweet tea, it's a good start. And the tea didn't disappoint. Ordered the staple pulled pork sammy with green beans.
