Sensational view!!! The pina colada slushy was delicious. I tried the rum runner, which fine. Then, the strawberry slushy, which was tasty. The moscato was as expected but the pina colada slushy was the winner. Southern Summer was playing Dwight yoakam, Blake Shelton, and Zac Brown band - epic sound and beautiful energy. Five stars for the entertainment and the view!!! Good fries and very good tartar sauce. I'm not sure why this establishment has three stars. Me and my boyfriend are both from Illinois and went to Cranberry's earlier this afternoon (Sun, Aug 2). I just turned 22 a week ago and my boyfriend is 25. We ordered our drinks, our server checked our IDs, walked away, then came back and asked for them again. She was gone with them for 5-10 mins before letting us know that because of "reasonable doubt" and things that have been going on, she couldn't serve us. As a bartender, I completely understand she doesn't need to give a reason - it just sucks to be left confused. On the way out, we asked another employee if she could explain why we were denied. She said because of "reasonable doubt," and also because we had "REV" on the back of both of our Illinois licenses which she said meant they were revoked on 09/17/2015. At that time I would've been 11 and my boyfriend was 14... so obviously that doesn't make any sense. She even said to me, "You wouldn't have even been driving then," which is true and makes it even more confusing. I understand the businesses on the lake have to be strict, but what was absurd was the explanation about the "REV" code. If you just Google it, the AI overview says it means revoked, but if you actually look at the Illinois Secretary of State website and/or call them (which I did), it means revised. My dad & brother are cops in Illinois so when I called after we left to ask them, they even verified that for me because I obviously wouldn't have a valid license or even one in my possession... if it had actually been revoked a cop would've taken it away, they don't deal out revoked IDs, AND they don't put that on a license - only way to find out is through the police computer system. But, the most ironic part is that last night, I was there with a group of 12 people, had my ID checked, was served with no issues, and had an amazing time watching the live band. That's what made today's experience surprising and disappointing, and that's why I'm giving 2 stars. read more

I never leave reviews but Im baffled And don't really know what else to do. Girlfriend and I come in on a dead Sunday for lunch. I'm 25 and my girlfriend is 22 - our server says she can't serve us due to "reasonable doubt," I ask why, she says rudely "I just explained why." That was a lost cause, so we ask another server on our way out to explain to us why we were denied. server tells us they can't serve us alcohol due to a rev code on the back of our licenses listing a date in September of 2015, and that our licenses were revoked then. This makes no sense - I was 14 in 2015 and my girlfriend was 11 - we didn't even have licenses yet. When we tried arguing the logic of this, they just said we have doubt to serve you alcohol, sorry. I just don't understand - I could see if it was a busy Friday/Saturday when the cops are on the prowl, but this was a late Sunday when the place was dead. We're literally on their Facebook dancing there to the awesome live music the night before; our IDs were checked and cleared - none of this makes sense - just bummed because we love the place and have always had a great experience except for this time. read more

Thursday night is Rib night. Walking to front door you could smell the ribs on the grill. Got 1/2 rack with fries and coleslaw. Coleslaw was old but edible. Great fries. Ribs were of a vinegar base and probably Cajun seasoning - this is personally not my favorite but good. The main problem was that ribs were just warm and probably never on the grill-no grill marks and no grill favor. This was just a warm up with sauce on it. Just the usual ribs you get everyday. This place is the same garbage on repeat. New owners and snotty staff. HORRIBLE service at the bar and long waits for over-priced fried foods. Tonight, after waiting 20 minutes at the bar for a draft beer, the bartender told me "we will get to you when we get to you". My tab was $123 dollars for pizza and draft beers and a few cocktails, and they couldn't be bothered by me. Unfortunately, they have a monopoly on the market. Anyone with a nickels worth of sense would handle it differently. Stay home and grill out, or head to a place that' values your patronage. read more

We visited on a Wednesday when they have trivia night. Food is always delicious, especially the ranch dip served with fries and when added to the chicken sandwich. Service was great and served with a smile. Ambiance is great; it's always great when eating on the water in the summertime in Ohio. We come back anytime we visit the area! read more

Saturday, July 9th hubby Tony and I stopped while we were in the Indian Lake Area to have lunch at Cranberry Resort Waterfront Grill and Bar. It was beautiful!! Located in Huntsville OH out on the Islands in the middle of the lake. There are boats pulling up and getting out to eat. Plenty of car and boat parking available. Tony and I were seated outside along the slips of the boats. There was a lot of pontoon boats. Tony ordered a PBR and I had unsweetened tea with lemon and lime. We decided to order the Sliced Mushroom Fries with a Horseradish Dipping Sauce. We also ordered The Bay Burger with Mayo, Tomato, onions and lettuce with onion ring to share!!! It was plenty!! It was delicious!! We had a total of 4 rounds of drinks total Tip and taxes was $50 and her Tip was $9 of it. We will definitely go again if ever in the area. There was live music!!! A worker with an "employee of the month" runner-up shirt on Sept. 27th was talking to someone, presumably about a customer, saying someone was acting like an "asshole". We didn't need to hear her fowl language when trying to enjoy the wonderful location on the water and the ballgame. In fact, she seemed to have a real "attitude" when serving our group. Something in her eyes made us edgy. She didn't feel "trustable", acted kind of shifty. Hard to describe. We have never complained before, but my husband and I weren't impressed with her demeanor nor behavior. Normally, if we had ever rated at all, we would have given all 4 and 5 stars for this lovely place on the lake. We will be back but hope to see next time with our group more respectful and otherwise more "normal acting" behavior from staff. read more

Our order took over an hour to get to us because a server gave it to the wrong table. They said nothing and started eating it, then along came their real order, ate what they could, requested to go containers for the rest so they got free food. Our replacement order was almost delivered to another wrong table!!! By the manager!!!!!! We intercepted and got our dismal meal. They were going to give 20% off, I advised the table that ate our food ate for free!! They then said 50% off, fine , wanted to be done with it. This is not your next great culinary find. Expect your meals to be frozen, fried and served. This place gets crowded in the summer especially when then weather is nice, most people dock their boats and walk in. We came on a Saturday over Memorial Day weekend and while the place was far from packed, the majority of the tables indoors were open, we were told that it would be an hour and a half for food. We decided to opt for appetizers in the hopes that it would be faster. Some came out in less than 5 minutes while others took almost half an hour. You could tell the food had been mass produced for the weekend. The nice parts about this restaurant though is that there is a good amount of outdoor seating, you can dock your boat right at the dock and walk in, and they typically have live music going. This is your destination if you have plenty of time and patience and you're looking for somewhere to sit and relax while you work up an appetite. read more

The atmosphere is fun and view is great but thats where the good news ends. Do not order the chicken bites, they are tough and chewy. I really love the view and food. We come here when we come down to our camper. I was a little disappointed last time we were there. They limited their menu down tremendously. Friday night they had a full menu when we had dinner, we went back Saturday to meet friends for lunch and there was hardly anything to choose from. I will definitely go back to have a pizza or stop by for drinks, but as for dinner, probably not do to hardly not a lot to chose from. Where to start....we had visited Cranberry's last year and the food and service was horrible. We decided to give it another try today and was again disappointed. The patio was crowded so we went inside. The place has a faint smell of urine and chlorine which is off putting. It had the same smell last year too! I thought it was just me, but the other 3 people with me were also turned off by the smell and remarked that they had smelled it before. .We decided on beers and a few appetizers. We ordered the pretzels bites and beer cheese, buffalo cauliflower and mushroom fries. The pretzels were the run of the mill Gordon food Service pretzels- okay but nothing special. However, The cheese sauce came in a plastic cup with a layer of congealed cheese on top. Gross. The mushroom fries were okay but mostly a pile of breading. The worst was the buffalo cauliflower. They were so small in size and tasted like frozen cauliflower that was briefly fried and smothered in buffalo sauce. Rubbery and soggy. We didn't even eat them. I would compare the quality of food to Froggy's. Neither establishment really cares about serving you decent food. They want to give you quick, pre-made food to keep you drinking. And really why should they care? They are making loads of money off drinks and their patio. My advice to Cranberry's is to call Woody's and get some direction on how to serve real food that is thoughtfully made. read more

For many years I have judged Reuben sandwiches served around many restaurants by comparing what was served against the Cranberry Reuben as it was the best. Today I was totally disappointed at Cranberry. The sandwich served was disgusting and a true disappointment. The meat was tough and stringy as well as grisly. It was obvious that the cooks lacked pride in their product as was apparent by the skimpy portion of meat, sauce and kraut. There were three of us and we all ordered the Reuben sandwich and we were all three in agreement; we won't be back. Wish I had taken a photo of the sandwich. read more

Oh, how very sad!!! I used to come here semi regularly in the 80s & the food was decent. Returned to the area for the first time since about 1998 & was happy to see it was still around! Wish I had read the reviews before attempting my nostalgia trip! Stopped in after driving over an hour. Parking lot was packed & the food smelled good from outside - I think we were smelling somebody nearby cooking out, actually. Inside was completely deserted except for the bar & one table. The views from the deck were as beautiful as I remembered. Outside was packed. Waited for a table there because the inside seating area smelled REALLY strongly of urine. Like the bathrooms were unclean & the smell was leeching out. (The womens room was relatively clean, but my husband said the men's room was atrocious) After quite a long wait we got a table, then another long wait for a server. Super long wait for our food. Most of it came out cold. That wasn't the worst part, though. It appears that many of our items had been pre-made, gotten cold, recooked, gotten cold & then served. My fish & fries were completely stale. It tasted like they came from the trash bin. My daughter's chicken was completely dried out, translucent in places, & brown all the way through. Bread was very stale. The only fresh thing was the chicken nuggets. Two of us had stomach upset a few hours after eating. With such obvious lack of caring in the kitchen I knew it would do no good to exchange for other menu items or complain. My husband noticed we were the only table with food. Everyone else was just drinking (& seemingly having a really good time). I would suggest using this place as only a watering hole & finding a better place for food. McDonalds or the local gas station would both would qualify as better places. read more

OK here is the Scooby on this place. Service overall was pretty good they were fairly busy and the waitress did a good job getting to us in a timely fashion. The food was OK nothing to write home about. I got the Reuben it was good but a little fatty for my liking. The fries were lukewarm. My friend who ordered the chicken wings boneless said they were just so so. And Pete said his burger was OK. Overall the atmosphere of this place is really nice you can eat inside or outside we opted for eating outside since it was such a nice day. What I like about this place is if you have a boat you can just cruise right up and dock and come on in and eat and drink. It is definitely worth checking out most likely will return when I am up this way again. read more
