I'm pretty shocked at all the 4-5 star ratings. I don't get my nails done very often, and when I do I go in with the expectation I am not going to be rushed or feel stressed by the reception or nail technician. I was asked to pay before I even picked out a nail color, which was really awkward. The guy at reception watched me struggle with my bag and coat and I ended just throwing them on the empty chair next to me. The pedicure itself was boring. I didn't pay $30 for a color change. I was rushed out the door when it was over. It was just a very stressful situation that I really did not appreciate. Also, I'm not sure if there are nail technician apprentices or something, but there were a handful of girls wearing white shirts and black jumpsuits that did not match anyone else. When I was trying to pick out my color they were hovering over the polishes; it took about 2 minutes before I could actually get my color. read more

Your average nail spa but with the nail technicians having good hands as they massaged the legs and shoulders. I felt pampered. I did like there selection on colors and may have annoyed them a bit as I couldn't narrow my choice then your normal woman which spots one within minutes. Overall I would go again, I was seated promptly, no correction on nails and they really cleaned under nails. Now, for those ladies who keep writing it's a nail salon bad touch. Here's my advice to ya: At night polish your nail tips with clear polish. I can get away with a color on my hand nails for two weeks. Despite negative reviews and mediocre service, I continued to go to 2x10 nails for its convenient location. I finally paid the price! After a $55 mani/pedi (incl tip) Friday morning I woke in the middle of the night in pain, BOTH of my big toes red and infected. I went back on Sat to show them and they were clearly annoyed I was bothering them, their only concern getting me out before customers saw what they did to me. I asked for my money back - and was offered a discount on my next visit. Next visit??? 3 days later I am still sore and putting shoes on is incredibly painful. And to literally add insult to injury...the manicure barely lasted one day! Obviously I will not be going back and I would advise anybody to go elsewhere. read more

How does this place stay open? The chairs never work and they charge $45 for a mani and pedi (on a Monday too). The service is okay. Once in a while you'll stumble on a good massage, but for $45 I want the chairs to work and I want my mani to last more than a few days. Great selection of colors. Friendly staff. Always perfectly polished fingers and toes. I really love this place. For me, the shoulder/back rub post mani is a plus. I've seen some people complaining about it, but I consider it an extra perk. Walking in here always decreases my stress level. Oh my first bad review....and I kept trying and trying to like this place. I have only ever continued to go here because it is so close. After my recent experiences I will spend the extra 10 minutes to go somewhere else. Not only do they cost $2-$5 more for every service, they don't give extra quality. In fact, my manicures have always been worse here than cheaper places. All of my manicures I have gotten here chipped the NEXT DAY if not THAT NIGHT! I decided to try the no-chip and got it twice and it was very nice......THEN on my third time it chipped 3 days later. No big deal, I understand that it can sometimes happen. They told me they would redo it for no charge, by the time I went in the next day almost all of my nails had chipped. (no-chip is supposed to last 2-3 WEEKS and it had been 4 days) They re-did them and the girl who had previously been nice to me seemed very displeased about it and rushed. I still tipped 20% on the actual cost, cause hey she still had to do all the work and she was not the girl who had done it last time. Then 5 DAYS later almost all my nails were chipped AGAIN! I decided to forget about spending the extra $25 on no-chip and just get a regular mani when I went to get a pedicure. They told me that it would cost to get the no-chip taken off! After they had done it twice in a week and a half and it still did not meet the guarantee time of the original?! No way! They ended up taking it off for free......but then....my manicure chipped THAT NIGHT!!! I decided to just forget about even going back and asking them to redo it....to much time and hassle. read more

I had a no chip today. I am not happy at ALL. First of all, I understand people come here to get together with friends, however there were these ladies talking nonstop in their chairs. Ok. After one of the ladies was done the other one pulled up a chair in the space between her friend and me. I had the pleasure of them talking in my ear non stop. I don't care about your business. I would like to sit and relax a little. There is a reason the seats are spaced the way they are not for you to pull a stool they use to do pedis. Obnoxious! I don't know why the ladies in the salon did not stop them especially after the lady doing my nails told another to move to another area because she was too close. Secondly, I did not like how my mani was done. My nails look like I could have done them. They almost look like a 10 year old's hands. The nail polish was taken all the way down the bed of the nail. I went in to get a mani pedi this weekend. We waited for about 30 minutes after our appointment was supposed to start. They chipped and split with in the first two days. I could see the different layers of polish right when I left. Their other location on Montrose does a much better job. read more

LOVE it! Finally I dont have to trek over to Pinkys on southport, which was ALWAY soo crowded. 2X10 is super clean and neat, tons of colors and great staff! They get to know you by name if you become a regular... They closed down the store on a friday afternoon for my bridal party so we could all get our nails done at the same time! They also have a nice rewards program, if you go enough they send you gift certificates and coupons!!! read more

You'll see that I have a history with this establishment. It was FANTASTIC when it opened (my 5-star go-to) and the women that managed it were great. I suspect that it is no coincidence that the service has tanked since a the new patriarchal model of management has been adopted. A young gentleman condescendingly barks orders from the front desk to the hard-working team. Today my toe was cut during a pedicure (a problem in itself) and the woman performing the service was visibly upset. It was well known in the salon that I had been cut and was still bleeding. The management did not make one comment to me during the 20 minutes it took for my toe to stop bleeding (yuck, btw). Not one gesture was made about the (pre-paid when I arrived) service as I prepared to leave afterward. I asked the manager at the front desk if injuries occur often and was simply told "no". I answered pleasantly that this is good news because it really does hurt. Still no gesture of apology, discount, refund, coupon...nothing. What was supposed to be a relaxing afternoon with my daughter instead turned painful, awkward, unsatisfying and easily rectifiable with nothing more than management acknowledgment. Business was brisk while I was there, so once again I'm reminded that my business isn't necessary for this establishment's success. read more

Even if you had appointments scheduled, a tech could have done the polish change in the time I was trying to talk to you. When I moved into Roscoe two years ago I started going to 2x10. I thought the massage was great and the staff was friendly. THAT WAS TWO YEARS AGO. Fast forward to NOW -- they ran out of the majority of their OPI no-chip nail polish, replaced it with a third of the colors they used to have, tried convincing me to choose colors that I wasn't interested because they didn't have what I was looking for. THEN... I got attitude from the girl who was going to do my nails because she was upset about the nail polish I had on previously and that it would take longer than normal to take off. She got snippy and rude with me, making me feel incredibly uncomfortable. After having her give me attitude about picking a color I didn't really want in the first place and then again for not wanting to deal with taking off my (i'll admit a little more difficult - but not impossible) nail polish, I decided to leave. When I asked for a reimbursement, it took 4 people to figure out whether or not they could even reimburse me. And I'm still not sure they did it right. Even if it's convenient in location, the attitude in this place has significantly been on a downhill trend over the past two years and after today I will walk to belmont to get a mani/pedi before I even think of going back there again. read more

I have been going here for a year because there really isn't anywhere else in the heart of RV. I think I have finally decided that convenience isnt' worth the bad service. Not to be agist, but I have noticed that the older ladies pay a lot more attention and are less rushed than the younger girls. My cuticles are hardly ever cut down enough, the mani hardly ever lasts and I don't like feeling that I am inconveniencing them when I do a walk in. The last time I did a walk in, it was at 7pm for a mani. They close at 8pm. My nails are super short. They rushed me through the mani, totally skipped the massage and were cleaning everything out from under me and under my feet by 7:45pm. I was really irritated that I never got the massage. I was going to say something but everyone was too busy cleaning to even come near me. The manis/pedis are just ok here and the customer service just isnt that good. I don't recommend as there are a lot of places in the area within a 10-14 minute drive. read more

I have been a regular customer for 2 years. Probably the best neighborhood nail spa I've been to. Mani/ pedi $45, pricier than others in the area, but worth it. Better to call for an appointment, but walk ins are welcome. Very clean and bright, with a large selection of Opi & Essie polishes. Comfty massage chairs for pedi. Have E! On tv's but without volume.. Also I love that the nail techs don't make small talk. When I left a bottle of my own Essie polish there for several weeks, they returned it to me on my next visit. I forgot that I left it there. Be warned, if they ask you if you would like a spa pedi, it's more expensive than the regular pedi and isn't worth the time and money. My mani's last for a week and the only reason I need is new pedi, is because my nails grow. read more

This is a very nice and clean nail salon and they always have good color choices. I prefer to pay when I walk in so I don't have to mess up my nails looking for my credit card when they are finished. There manicures last for usually two weeks. The receptionist always has great advice about color choices and is very friendly. I always have an enjoyable experience here. read more

I heart this place! I have been going to 2X10 in Roscoe Village since they opened. I recently got married and got my mani/pedi there. Some girl friends of mine got me a gift certificate for my wedding mani/pedi, which I used; however, I added the French mani and was not charged the upgrade which was a pleasant surprise I attribute to being a loyal costumer. The staff is always so friendly. Paul knew I was getting married so he made sure that my girlfriends and I all sat together for our services. And I had the BEST French manicure of my life. I last 7 days before it showed any signs of cracking and about 10 days before any chipping occured. WOW! Love this place. Great neck and should massage included with any mani or pedi, you don't have to get a mani/pedi to get the massage :) read more

Visited recently as I was in bad need of a manicure. Incredibly reasonably priced ($15). Plus they offer Children's mani/pedis for $25. Awesome experience for my daughters. I'm so bummed out by this. I have been going to 2X10 since they opened and have been pretty happy with them. Until last week. I went in to get a mani/pedi and all was well (great pedicure, great massage chair) until my manicure. The lady noticed there were some ridges in my nails and decided to get rid of them. I thought she was just buffing my nails but she was actually using a coarse nail file flat again my entire nail bed. I wasn't really paying attention, I have had a bunch of manicures at this place before, no problems. So, long story short, when the polish came off a couple of days later, I am now left with paper thin nails that just rip off and are about as thick as tissue paper. Now I have to wait for the entire length of my nail to grow out, from the cuticle up, before I can have normal nails again. And just to piss me off more, I'm getting married in a month and will now have shitty looking nails on my wedding day. My experience here was a big fat drag. read more

2 x 10 Nails is new in the neighborhood, and I thought it would be nice to have a place so close to home, so I checked them out. I had read reviews of their other locations, so I wasn't expecting to be exactly thrilled, but I have to say that I probably won't go back. First, there is the smell that hits you when you go through the door. Is it just the new paint or did something die in the back room? I honestly almost walked out. I decided to stay, and picked out a polish (good selection of colors, and most of the bottles seemed fresh enough), and went to look for a magazine. OK, I figure that if I am spending 30 bucks on a pedicure, I am saving some cash on magazines I might otherwise buy. But seriously, why would I want to read about July's summer fashions in October? Really a turn off. The pedicure itself was not very good: I didn't feel like the woman who did it was very interested in her job, and frankly, the polish was pretty sloppy and I don't feel like I got my money's worth. They seemed busy enough, and maybe other staff members are better, but I don't think I want to pay to find that out. read more
