3 Amigos Restaurant is a small (2 chain restaurant) with a location in Thousand Oaks and in Newbury Park. I've only been to the T.O. Location, but see and smell the N.P. location every time I leave my gym (I think it's pure genius and a bit evil to place a Mexican restaurant right next to a gym), but hey one day maybe they will just catch me slippin'. The T.O. location isn't huge, but it has a decent amount of indoor and some outdoor patio seating. We always get our order to-go, usually just phone it in that ways it's ready upon our arrival. (You still have to pay upon pick up). The menu isn't huge, just your basic burritos, tacos, and a few other Mexican specialties. Pricing is fair for what you get and staff seem to hustle to get orders out quickly and efficiently. There is a self serve salsa bar, I love their Pico De Gallo with their fresh prepared chips. If you are expecting a super authentic, hole in the wall Mexican joint, just remember that the locations are in T.O. and Newbury Park. =) Other than that, the food is good and it's our local go to when we are in the mood for Mexican food that's not Taco Bell ;) read more

Finally decided to give this place a try. Ordered the 3 chicken tacos with rice and beans. My husband ordered the special carnitas burrito and we both really enjoyed it. Food is really good and has great flavors. Salsas are delicious. Down the street from our place, this was our first meal in our new home. Three years later, this has become our go-to place when we crave Mexican food. We've tried almost everything on the menu but our favorites is the Amigos Burrito with steak and carnitas tacos! All their salsas are delicious, most especially the green one. The red salsa is pretty spicy but it's so good, it's hard to stop pouring it into your burrito. Fish tacos (fried) are really delicious for all my Catholic yelpers who practice abstinence on Fridays! The "restaurant" is pretty small with a small patio for outside seating and also plenty of parking. They have really fast service and everyone is so nice! The cashiers here are never knowledgeable of the menu let it be said that they are young so we will give them the chance because we all start somewhere. The flavoring of the food is nice. Some friends order out from here, while we were in the area. I don't think they had delivery, only pick up, which was fine. It didn't take long for our friend to pick up or order. I got their steak tacos with rice and black beans. I wasn't expecting much from this place, but it turned out pretty good. My steak tacos were topped with fresh pico de gallo. They were tasty and very generous with the meat. The rice was cooked well and the black beans were topped with some melted cheese. I ate more than I expected and was pretty satisfied. read more

I even told Managment more than once, my friends said they told management they would report the business if they didn't start cleaning, but they are so lazy they STILL don't clean them. Not terrible, but not good. Seems to be a local favorite somehow, but every aspect of each part of my dish was painfully bland. Carnitas was watery and flavorless, rice and beans had nothing going for them. The guy forgot to give me my chips until I asked for them, but I might as well have left them at the counter. I was super hungry when I ate here, and the food was still disappointing. I'd be okay with this kind of quality if the prices were low. I'll go with Taco Bell instead. read more

We've been using them for pick up food since 2020. Excellent selection of salsas and garnish for your choices. We like the chicken tacos and chicken burritos the best. The choice of black beans or pintos is good for some variety. The chicken tortilla soup is consistently awesome! The usual fountain drinks are available - the iced tea is exceptional. A real helpful staff, and the phoned in orders are always on time. They have outdoor seats and we have brought our dogs a few times on sunny days. Solid, consistent 4 star rating! Enjoy! read more

Personal faves are the crispy breaded fish tacos and chicken fajitas. Tucked into the back corner of the plaza, I recall a little patio area for outdoor dining right by the restaurant. My family and I used to come at least weekly but unfortunately I cannot longer give this place my business. My little sister grab some soda on a water cup and although I understand what she did was wrong, the way the manager handle this is what is made me upset. The manager Juan waited till my little sister was alone and yelled at her and told her to stop grabbing soda. Again I understand what she did was wrong but I wish he would have talk to me instead I would have pay for a drink instead. Juan should be ashamed of himself waiting for a 10 year old to be by herself and yelled at her for a soda is ridiculous. We ordered burritos with rice and beans, the waiter said do you want the combo it comes with a little burrito and rice and beans. We say yes thinking it would be our burritos along with another smaller one hence the combo. But all we got is the the small one with not much rice or beans. When we ask about it they just say yeah that's it. The kitchen started smoking and we were asked to move to a different table which we did. He also said the combo comed with a salad which didn't come until I asked again about it 30 minutes later. My boyfriends had ranch on it when he asked for none so we got a different one. I didn't have a fork at the new table and it took 20 minutes to come in the vicinity for me to ask. I have noticed the quality has been inconsistent the past few years and forget ordering here on Cinco De Mayo. Order Chinese instead!
