This was one of the worst restaurants Ive ever been too. It was either an off day there or Im spoiled with my wife's home made Colombian food and the authentic restaurants in Chicago. The service was also submitted par. The server acted like he didn't want to be there and were were an inconvenience. The seats were very uncomfortable. When you try a vegan version of a dish you have had before with meat, let the dish stand on its own. The vegan dish is not a substitute for the original dish, it's a vegan alternative. I was so excited to find this place since they have an extensive vegan menu! Although I'm not vegan, I eat dairy-free, so it was nice to have so many options and not be worried. I had the tostones, a vegan bean and cheese arepa, and the chicken and sweet corn tamal. Everything was flavorful, hot and fresh! The salsa verde added a nice zing to everything. My husband had the beef empanadas as well as queso with steak, and it was so filling that he couldn't eat it all in one sitting. My only complaint is that we got the food delivered via DoorDash, and we received our food almost 45 minutes later than the initial predicted time. That may be a Doordash issue, but I thought it was worth mentioning. Overall, I love that their menu has options for everyone, and it introduced me to Salvadoran food. read more

Everything here is amazing! The Pupusas are very good. I've had them before but never as tasty as 3 in 1. Their tamales are made with sweet corn masa, also so good! I popped in here last week for an order of carryout pupusas. I called in the order and everything was smooth from the call to the pickup experience, etc. You really can't go wrong with 3 in 1 Restaurant's pupusas and curtido. I always order extra curtido (and always want more). Our chicken and cheese and bean and cheese pupusas hit the spot. We also had an order of the pumpkin empanada (dessert) that come with chocolate sauce and powdered sugar. The staff is friendly and it's great to see that they've expanded the space. I've had them several times over the past few years and they have the best tacos !! I love that they have a whole vegan menu section -- Today I had vegan: al pastor, bistec encebollado, and tinga tacos, all with cilantro, onion & salsa verde. Each taco was full of flavor but they each differed. My favorite is the al pastor just because they really nail the spicy sweetness. It's a beautiful balance of flavors. The bistec has a really meaty/savory taste and I think best fills the craving for a taco. The texture is also very nice. The tinga was quite tomato-y but was still very good. I also had the salvadorian horchata which is very refreshing and not overly sweet -- also vegan because they make it with water instead of milk. I've tried many things over the years and never had a bad experience. They're my fav tacos in the city and I love ordering from them at the the local farmers markets, too. I haven't been in 3 in 1 for a number of years. They have totally remodeled and now have a trendy vibe. TV monitors were playing HGTV and there was light music playing overhead. They serve beer and wine now! I shared the Pupusa Sampler with five assorted pupusas with my husband. The plate came with a generous portion of a sweet slaw. The five pupusa's were filled with cheese, beans/cheese, loroco/cheese, chipotle chicken/cheese and pork/beans/cheese. We loved them all, but the loroco was our favorite. Loroco is a flower that grows in El Salvador and has a wonderful flavor. Adrian our server was friendly, attentive and brought our waters quickly. The food also came out quickly. I think I've found my new favorite restaurant! From the outside, this place doesn't look like much. It's only when you walk in that you feel you've stepped into this vibrant hideaway with delicious new dishes to try. I had the skirt steak taco, queso crema tamale, and G.O.A.T. pupusa. They were all delicious but I was blown away by the tamale and the pupusa. The tamale is a deliciously sweet twist on a typical tamale! The sweet potato and cream cheese tastes like a savory dessert that took my taste buds back to my grandma's at Thanksgiving. I am so glad to have been reunited with this restaurant!!!! I use to go way back in the day when they were on W 56th St; so when I was driving the area I saw the name and took a gamble. They have upgraded their menu as they now have wine cocktails. They are premixed so depending on when you go they may not have all of them available. I had the passion fruit one and it was extremely tasty; a little on the sweet side but still very good. For my order I had the chicken tamales (which I missed) and a chipotle chicken pupusa. The food was amazing!!! It was just as good and perfect as I remembered it. The tamales have such a unique flavor since they are made with IN sweet corn and the flavor truly is one of a kind. Same with the pupusa, the tortilla is the perfect thickness and cooked to perfection around the meat and cheese. The service was great! I was greeted as soon I walked and and was asked if I was dining in or taking a to go order. I was there on a Friday in the later afternoon and there was plenty of seating which was great. It also was not very loud and the place is fairly larger there seemed to be two sides of dining space with table tops, high bars and bench seating available. I was aware of this location because of a Yelp event. The restaurant looks much better after the renovation. I was in the neighborhood, so I decided to buy dinner. I ordered takeout of a smoking bandit pupusa for $7 and a steak & cheese taco for $3.99. I do not know which one (maybe the corn tortillas) was smelling so delicious even after I got home. They serve: Mexican Vegan Salvadoran It was incredible to find out that they have actually been open for 7 years and they also go to some local Farmers markets. Burrito had a good balance of chorizo, bean, rice, and vegan cheese. The vegan al pastor taco had an ample amount of al pastor. It came with double corn tortilla, cilantro, onion, and limes.
