Which is the anthem for the mexican pointy boots brigade. AND EVERYONE LOVED IT!! I was speechless. in a bad way. and more so that i found myself at a place that played and like tribal. They also played a couple corridos and other mexican delights i could care less for. Maybe if I were mexican i'd enjoy this place more but... i'm not. thank god. We went to 3 Vinos last night for dinner. Food- Our table ordered six different plates including ropa vieja and we all agreed the food was very good. It has a lot of flavor and good portions. Service- We were all disappointed with the service. The waitress was not having a good day, it took her a while to come by our table and greet us. When we asked for the drink menu she hesitated. When our food was served one of the plates did not come out because she forgot to order it. Ambiance & Cleanliness - the restaurant is in a low light setting, a live salsa band plays in the background. Looks clean, but we accidentally spilled a drink and used the linen napkins to clean so when we asked for new napkins the ones they brought smelled very bad, like moist as if they were dirty. I read on their website that they are a fine dining restaurant, but I wouldn't consider it "fine dining " when The tables that we eat on are plastic foldable tables that I use for camping. There is a lot of space for improvement. Night life/music- we drove here from Anaheim and because it's a Cuban restaurant we expected the live band to play throughout the night. Instead, a DJ plays different type of music. Salsa, hip hop, pop, etc... The place gets extremely crowded and its very hard to get around or even dance. The crowd is ok, watch out for the guys who want to rub up against you too! I would consider returning to this restaurant only for lunch, but I don't think I will. He showers, shaves, gets dressed up, sprays some of his Diesel Fuel For Life Cologne, practices some of his dance moves in front of the mirror. And gets ready for the nite. He's like a Vampire looking for his prey for the nite. Who will it be? In this case I was with my chick. She had been invited by some friends to come to 3 Vinos for dinner and then to dance the nite away. I wasn't looking forward to it, I was a lil' tired from the nite before and needed to take a nap. Anyway, my chick managed to twist my arm to come with her here. I said "Sure Why Not?" 3 Vinos is located in old town Covina, down the street from Rude Dogs, which is more my kind of place especially since they have Karaoke there. 3 Vinos specialty is the Salsa, Cumbias Music that they play. If thats your kind of thing then you should stroll down here. Not too much of a fan of it, I got the rhythm and the moves, just got to get the steps down. Anyway the people we were meeting had reservations at 8. We of course show up 20 minutes late. Which is not a problem, because they were already there. Wasnt too hungry because we had eaten some Subway and some Chicken Noodle soup before we had gotten there. So we ordered two appetizer plates of their Shrimp Scampi, (It had a name to it, I cant remember, and I know they have it on their menu on their Yelp! webpage, but its not important or wasnt all that good, especially for 15 bucks each plate, I make better Shrimp Scampi at home, so what does that tell you?). From what I can tell her friends ordered the appetizer sampler combo. I didnt try any of it, just wasnt too hungry to try it. My chick tried a couple of bites and she said it was OK. Corona was my choice for the nite. 6 bucks, which isnt that bad I guess. She had a couple of glasses of Red Wine, forgot how much that was. The service was OK also, poor waiter was running around the place most of the time taking alot of orders. Looks like they need just a little more help. At 10, they take away all the tables and chairs. They have a little note on your table saying that they clear them to make room for the dance floor. So at least they give you a little heads up about it. So we had our chairs against the wall, and sat down, dance floor was empty for about 45 minutes, before people started to fill it up. They have another dance floor where they have a live Cuban (Latin) band, which I thought was pretty cool. The dance floor we were at was playing Top 40, Cumbias, 90s, 80s, and even some house. There was alot of Pitbull in the beginning, but cut down with it towards the end. The music here was about better than what I expected. It is an older crowd here. Looks like a 30ish crowd. And to be quite honest with you out there, there was not 1 chick here who caught my eye. In all respects, my chick was the hottest one here. Its funny how women throw you the eye much more when they see a guy with his girlfriend! The chicks werent giving any play to the guys here. I dont blame em. Lot of these guys just looked straight up creepy, just creeping on the outside of the dance floor, just staring. Guys get out on that dance floor and spit some game, standing on the outside with your hands in your pockets, just staring all creepy aint gonna get you nowhere! Sad, just sad. Back in the day, the REDEYEDBANDIT would of been dancing with at least 8-10 chicks a nite. Gotten a few #'s, but wouldnt call em, cause someone once told me "You dont meet good women at a club or bar". I've learned that some of that saying is true. I liked the lighting at the bar and the surrounding areas. The live band was pretty good too. But the drinks and the food was pricey. Not a place that i would go back to, maybe if they lowered the prices a bit, but I know that aint gonna happen. We have gone for Sunday brunch several times and hands down the most coziest, friendliest atmosphere. The service was phenomenal. It was like going to a family gathering - talking and laughing with other patrons. Even dancing to the band warming up for the evening. The food was delicious and the mimosa were flowing. read more

Place is a bit small but works since it's not a downtown LA night club. Places gets packed everyone is dressed very nice and plenty of hot chicks. Saw this place in the "jazz and blues section". Was hoping for a relaxed atmosphere and some couches, but instead it was packed to the teeth. They didn't stop letting people in, there was about 6 inches to one foot of free space wall to wall. I wasn't expecting a dance club, and even though they played more mellow music than some other venues it still wasn't jazz or blues. They tried to charge me $7 for a bud light! My friend and I arrived at 11 pm and the place seemed poppin! walked in and my friend was wearing dressy tennis shoes and the bouncer very professionally told us that tennis shoes are not allowed but tonight he would let him in. I think that spoke very highly of the place since he was the first impression of the night and was a good one. and there was a live salsa band playing and people dancin away. I've had dinner n drinks here and their Ropa Vieja is very good. celebrated my bday in 2016 and we enjoy sitting at bar. Their live band, DJ and environment are bomb I returned in June 2017 to find no stools available. They have sofas but only if you buy bottle service. Bitch when you drop 3 bills just two couples you better be pulling out stools. 4-5 hrs of drinking n dancing your feet hurt and it's nice to rest a bit. So my wife and I went there for our date night. We are foodies and always looking for new places to try. We were invited to a bday gathering here later inthe evening. Being a yelper that I am, I need to know all about the place before the evening. With less than good rating, we decided to to have dinner there anyways for convenience. Furthermore, we're not familiar with the area. My wife is a light eater so she ordered the black bean soup and the shrimp with garlic butter as an entree. I ordered the churrasco chimichurri. I had this at an Argentinean steakhouse and was done very well so I thought it would be similar. Well...NOT QUITE! There wasn't enough flavor so a side of the chimichurri sauce is served with the steak. Unfortunately dipping it in the sauce is not the same as marinating it before grilling. The black bean soup was pretty good, but the shrimps were horrendous. The meal was below average. Then we joined in with the birthday party over at the bar/lounge. They reserved a private table for the group of 12. This is a very hip place as it turned out. Good looking ppl and courteous waitstaff. The live band played from maybe 7pm to 10 pm when the dj takes over. The music was a nice mix of the 80s 90s and current hits. My wife and I danced all night and had a great time. The place gets packed right before 11pm. It also has an outdoor smoking area if you're a smoker. The only thing that bothered me is the walkway to the restrooms. The staff should clear the ppl standing in the walkway so others can get to the RR. Its a fire hazzard anyways to have ppl there. I would recommend eating somewhere else before coming here for the lounge. Not sure if there's a cover charge for doing that. I doubt it. read more

Just went here on February 13, 2016 to celebrate Valentine's Day with my boyfriend. The food is extremely overpriced! It was $45.00 for a steak that was precooked and was delivered to the table lukewarm, desert (which I could have made a home, chocolate strawberries & a scoop of ice cream) and a basic salad were included for that price. The drinks were a bit mediocre with their specialty, the Sangria, being overly sweet. But the wait staff was great! Our server was very nice and attentive. If you're just looking for a place to dance, go here! But I would NOT recommend it for a romantic night, or a first date, unless you like shouting across the table from each other. It's very loud and there is no barrier between the dining area and the dance floor. Oh, and if you book a reservation, be aware that you have a 2 hour limit at the table, and at 10:15 PM, the dining area is the extended dance floor and you will be asked to get up and leave your table so they can remove all the tables and chairs. It's an older crowd 30's+ and the music is mostly Latin, very little top 40, every other song was Pitbull, so if you go here I hope you love his music. A couple of pros, they gave us a nice complementary picture as a souvenir of the night and parking is free at the lot behind the building. I would not go here again, unless it's just to drink and dance. The food is not good and there are plenty of other restaurants that would have been a better choice. I was almost denied entrance to 3 Vino's because my shoes weren't up to the dress code for the night. [I was sportin' brand new white DVS's]. I was very surprised to see some reviews on the lower side. Some had an issue with the age of the typical person that visits this establishment and the music. On the flip side, I like it because I am in my 30's and I actually do enjoy good live Latin music. I can appreciate the fact that I am not surrounded by a bunch of "kids". So if you are looking for a "younger" type of crowd then you will probably want to go somewhere else. This is definitely a place for the locals. I have been there quite a few times for family birthdays, dates with my husband or just to go grab a bite to eat when I know I want some killer Cuban food. None of us have ever been disappointed with the food or the service. We very much enjoyed the live bands, although I can say the music can tend to be a little too loud for those of us trying to have conversation over a meal. This was my 2nd time visiting 3vinos. The dining experience and customer service was a lot better than the first time. I would recommend the churrasco chimichurri, but stay away from the mojitos... For a Cuban restaurant the bartender needs more training on the drinks. We were seated outside and from my experience the customer service provided by the outside waiters is so much better than sitting inside. My fiancée and I decided to stay and dance in hopes that the experience would be better than the first, but we left after 20 mins. The "DJ" played the same set as our first visit. Extremely crowded and a rude crowd. Therefore, the 4 stars is for the outside dining experience. The club/lounge gets a ZERO. This place is more than just a nightclub it also has resturant hours. So my review is specifically for the SUNDAY BRUNCH. (If you want a review of the nightclub scene you'll have to wait until I go lol). Anyways, this will be short and sweet. It was great! The food was phenomenal and I couldn't get enough of it. And of course they had the yummy Mimosas...mmmm. Although the food is worth going back alone, I think my favorite part was the live music. Oh. my. gosh....the singer of the live band was amazing. They played a mixture of Spanish/flamenco music which reminded me a lot of the Gypsy Kings. If they are there every Sunday then I will go back just to hear them sing. Very nice automosphere...but on a Friday or Saturday...the small venue gets super packed....elbow to elbow kinda packed. First off the food is pretty damn amazing...Cuban...and you can taste it in almost any dish. I've only had some of the food there but I've yet to be disapointed. The drinks are good and the music is great. They usually have a live band followed by a DJ after 10ish. Once dinner is over they quickly remove all tables and allow more room to dance :) It would be nice to see them buy up the place next door and expand since the place is doing so well and is at capacity almost every weekend. I was brought here for my birthday on a Sunday for brunch. I really enjoyed it! There's a lot of energy, the server was great and the food was delicious. The bottomless mimosas are indeed bottomless. The guy kept coming over making sure our glasses were full. I highly recommend this place for those who like to eat, drink, and dance....although we asked for a table farthest from the music. Folks be careful with the unethical business practice of this place. Music great don't get me wrong but if you reserve a spot they will come at you with over charges. What's worse is the police has a relationship with this establishment and as soon as you question the bill, staff will call you outside the club which by the way exposes you if you have been drinking. Covina police is quick to approach you which only means they are in relationship with this club. Not one police officer approaches you but 6-8 officers . What does that tell you. While there are a handful of places where you can go to get good food, and even some really good food, its no secret that Covina (hell most of the East San Gabriel Valley) is desperately short of anything resembling a class, full-service, fine-dining establishment. When they opened 3 Vino's about a year ago, my wife and I had hope that perhaps this place might be the real deal. It's looks very nice from the outside, and on the weekends there is usually a line of decently dressed 20-40 somethings waiting to get in. So one night when our plans changed and we were dressed with no place to go, we decided to check it out. I can't imagine going back. I don't know whether the owners are just clueless, or shameless frauds. It's as if they are trying to sell a cheap imitation of a class establishment to a clientele they expect to be ghetto by trying to cram in every weak cliché they could think of from a weekend in Vegas or South Beach. The name of the restaurant should have been the first clue. 3 Vino's. Really? Even writing this review spell check says no. Typos in the name of a restaurant are just sad and embarrassing. If it's some kind of inside joke, nobody gets it. But what's in a name? Aside from a first impression I mean. This is a restaurant/bar, (I'm not sure which and neither are they), so lets see the wine list, because you know, with a name like 3 Vino's I kind of somehow got the impression they might actually be pouring some wine worth naming the place after. Nope. After seeing the wine list I have come to the conclusion that 3 Vino's literally means three wines. While there might have been a few more than three, it was a pitifully small selection of mostly poor to mediocre, mass-produced wines that were way overpriced. Also, while I understand that there are enough people out there who like white zinfandel to warrant offering it, you do not then label Zinfandel, "Red Zinfandel". I did not see, nor was I offered, or informed of any specialty drinks either. This is supposed to be a Cuban/Latin place, so we were thinking mojitos, inventive rum drinks,... at the very least some decent margaritas... nope. We actually both ordered Cazadores Margaritas. Take note ladies, mine was extremely weak and overly salted, while my wife's was nearly a double. The Food - The food was decent, it took forever to show up but it was ok. I ordered the tangy pork chop and my wife one of the shrimp dishes. Like a lot of Latin themed restaurants, our meals were heavy on the sauce/spice. Which while not bad tasting, suggested to us that were attempting to mask or compensate for poor execution in other areas. The menu was not à la carte, and the sides were uninspired. A cup of black beans, and some fried yucca. The Service - The service was polite but slow. There were three or four members of the wait staff who visited our table, and none of them seemed to know what the others were doing, or had already done. While I appreciate being attended to, we weren't sure who was responsible for us and neither were they. Also, I might have ordered another drink or two, inspite of them being weak, but by the time they got 'round to asking if I wanted another we were done and ready to leave. Ambience - The place itself is attractive looking both inside and out, and is clean. The space is an open design that is essentially divided in two by a bar in the middle. The entrance side is set up as a lounge, with sets of couches and chairs set around coffee tables, and with space set aside at one end for dancing and the band. The other side is set for dining earlier in the evening, but then they clear out the tables around 9:30-10 or so to make room for more dancing. There is a DJ booth at one end, and the dining tables are folding tables set with a table cloth, both of which seriously detract from any fine-dining feel. The Music - There was a live band which was pretty good, but they were so loud I couldn't hear what my wife, or the server(s) were saying. Restauranteurs and pretenders alike, take note. Music is good. Music so loud you cannot hear the person at the table with you, or the server trying to take your order is not. If the "design" of your restaurant calls for converting into a club later in the evening, look to other establishments (HOB, Hard Rock Cafe) that have successfully implemented this design to see how it should be done. Set a time for dining and time for turning up the sound for dancing and/or hire a designer who knows about acoustics and sound baffling. Finally, as other people have mentioned they are pissy about your shoes. Which all things considered I personally find laughable. Anything not a dress shoe will pass only until they finish serving dinner if they let you in at all. After that you will be asked to leave. read more

Last night was my first time here, and the crowd was good. I'm not a dancer, but I didn't feel pressured, in competition, or like I was being watched by everyone around me. So by the end of the night I was dancing my life away. The people who come here are mostly of an older crowd, maybe late 20s, and a lot more people in their 30s or 40s. The music was of a great variety. Everything from The Cure (80's), Big Sean (more of current hip hop music) and some Mexican music spice in there. The only downfall is the drinks. The amount of liquor they put in drinks is wayyyyy too much. At first I thought maybe it was the bartender who made a mistake or didn't know how to mix, but I've also heard other people say that the drinks are ALWAYS over saturated w/ alcohol. Came here on an early Saturday evening and was able to enjoy the food and live band which were both excellent. I had the Bistec de Palomilla which was flavored with a mojo sauce akin to a scampi sauce. I also had their Che Colada which was so good we all had more than a few. After our party was over, two of us stayed for the night club and DJ. Yes, it gets crowded, but what club doesn't? They also had tacos and bacon wrapped hot dogs on the patio which I didn't try, but smelled amazing! My advice is to get there early, find a spot you like and stay there. read more

I have mixed reviews about my recent experience at 3Vino's. The DJ was great, played a variety of music and kept the crowd entertained. The crowd was pleasant and lots of good dancers. The only downside was the service at the bar. I ordered a Cuba Libre which had an aftertaste of onions, not sure if they are stored next to onions or cut with the same knife that cut onions, but there was a strong funny taste. People were frustrated waiting for service and the bartenders wouldn't even make eye contact with you to let you know they would be right with you. I went to this place on a Saturday, in the begining of March. Overall, I would say it's a cool local spot. Pros: No cover, nice mix of music (some old scool jams, current stuff and live bands) and bang for your buck drinks. Cons: My friends had to wait in line for over an hour, there was a blown out speaker and not much diversity. This review is just about dinner and bar service and the place in general. We had a relativity early dinner here. The place does not serve food until five (at least midweek, not sure about weekends). it was deserted for the couple hours were were here. There was one person at the bar - that was it. The service was adequate, but pretty sparse given that there was no one there. I had the paella. You get a huge portion, I can eat a lot, and after half I was done. Inside, there was a band playing, which made having a conversation somewhat difficult, especially since the music was being played over the speakers.
