Lemon Drop & a single shot of tequila! Yum

This place is a whole vibe! We were told Frenchman Street was the spot for live music, so that's where we headed and this place pulled us right in. We heard the singer from outside, walked in planning to stay about 30 minutes... and ended up there for three hours!!! This review isn't about the food because, unfortunately, the kitchen was closed when we arrived but honestly? Food wasn't even needed. The drinks were on point, and the bartenders were fantastic. The prices were noticeably cheaper than Bourbon Street, and the drinks were actually much better. Now let's talk about the music -- 10/10 across the board. The performer sang everything from Snoop Dogg to Beyoncé, Alanis Morissette to The Beatles. The entire place was vibing...people dancing, singing along, clapping ...just pure NOLA joy. The energy in the room was incredible. No cover charge -- you just walk right in. They take all major credit cards (I didn't notice anyone using cash). Bathrooms were clean, and there is a bathroom attendant selling snacks and asking for tips, so just be aware. Overall, this was such a fun, memorable experience, and it's definitely going on my list of must-return spots the next time I'm in the area. If that same singer is performing, do yourself a favor and go! I guarantee you'll have a great time. Check out the videos I posted to get a feel for the energy. Five stars for the atmosphere, drinks, and live music. Don't miss this spot. I'LL BE BACK!!

Yo wanted to see live music so we walked over to Frenchmen because that's where some of the real local musicians are playing. The street was packed, but a very nice security guard motioned us to come in... why not? No cover! LOL! Ordered two Maker's Mark old fashions and one sip, "hello, I'm drunk!" We were able to grab a table on the side so we could watch the whole room! Lots of people having fun and one birthday girl just turned 21. The music was fun! Singing along was even more fun! Definitely worth checking out!

The music was phenomenal here. I literally made new friends within minutes of being there. The hurricanes were too much syrup but still ok. The bartenders were super fast for the amount of people packed in there. Definitely the best band we've seen in the area that night.

Red beans n rice spilling over bread bowl w side of chicken fingers
    Paul S.

Unfortunately they were out of Jambalaya which led me to red beans n rice that has plenty of flavors & side of chicken tenders-that have big pieces of chicken! The meal was awesome that I wouldn't have expected from bar food. Drinks were good n cheap with great beer selection. Live music was a great experience. It got a little crowded; made it hard to get a seat & had to wait for drinks. Please take some cash for bathroom attendant-they're Very nice with mints, cologne, deodorant etc!

Music to my ears from outside and to stop by to enjoy the vibe!!! The Happy Hour was amazing for $1 Oysters and $5 drinks!!! The fried pickles were perfectly fried just need to hold back on the salt. The service was nice!! I would have to come back again!!!

Raw fresh oysters (6 for 6$ during happy hour)

Great atmosphere! We were lured in by good music and the spacious room inside. But what really blew me away was the happy hour deals - 5$ drafts and 6 oysters for 6$. What a steal! The oysters tasted so fresh and tasty - served with some horseradish, saltine crackers, and red cocktail like sauce and were a highlight of my night. The chill jazz band sealed the deal that wonderful Tuesday night!

    Andrea U.

The jazz outside called us in. We found a table in front of Organami, the 5 piece band. There was a one drink minimum, prices were reasonable, drafts were $5. The kitchen is opened until 10:00 but no one is eating. After the set the band came around with a tip bucket. Happily there was the bathroom attendant, and the ladies room was immaculate.

Funky lil club with a solid menu as well, plus good craft beer. The good music first made us stop - Sugar and the Daddies playing - then we found perfectly-fried pickles and beignet fries - yes'm, fries, the BEST way to beignet. We'll be diving into more food and drink as the night goes along, a dozen solid local brews on tap

    Erin M.

Came while on a friends trip. At first we enjoyed the live music downstairs. Went upstairs to check out the balcony and ended up dancing the night away! So much fun. The bartenders were very efficient and the drinks were tasty!

    Katie S.

I really loved the music here ans they had a great happy hour! The only reason I rated it 4 stars is because service was a bit slow due to there not being enough servers. We had drinks, fried catfish and jambalaya, all of which was great.

The bartender with the not so nice attitude and selective pouring

We are here as I speak 6/9/2026 and the band is awesome love them but that lady bartender horrible attitude and not accommodating at all and select who she pour more for. Won't ever order from her ever and I'm a bartender

Honestly, Sugar and the Daddies were playing and that brought us in. Then we started looking at the menu and stayed! So many great brews. We may order more because so many menu items look great and so far our nibbles are awesome. Pickles are light, crisp and the dip sauce slight heat and great taste. Beignet fries are amazing! Perfect to get fluffy fried dough dusted with powdered sugar for every bite. Will definitely return. And the band was amazing!

What a freaking VIBE this place was! Packed house, music was amazing and the drinks were on point. Loved that they had local, craft beer as well. No cover and a hell of a good time. Highly recommend this spot if you're ever in NOLA!

GREAT musicians on a weekday! No cover, good vibes. Drinks were strong and the homeless woman living in the bathroom really added charm.

Rich, layered, and well-balanced with fresh elements that worked together on the plate. For entrées, we had a variety of cuts, including the Australian Wagyu, ribeye, butcher's cut, and lamb chops. The Wagyu stood out immediately. High quality, great sear, and finished tableside, which added to the overall experience without taking away from the food itself. Each steak was cooked precisely to temperature and full of flavor. The lamb chops paired with carrots and brussels were well executed and balanced. The sides complemented the meal well and did not feel like afterthoughts. You can also see their in-house dry aging setup, which speaks to the level of detail they put into their steak program. It shows in the final product. The drinks were solid across the board. The Old Fashioned and bourbon selections paired well with the meal and matched the food's quality. Service by Noelle was attentive and responsive throughout the night. Everything flowed well, and we were taken care of without feeling rushed or hovered over. This is not a casual dinner spot, but for a celebration or a night where you want a full experience, Doris Metropolitan absolutely delivers.

Overall, the experience was average and did not fully meet those expectations. The charcuterie and cheese board, priced at $68, was underwhelming in both portion size and value. It included only six thin slices of cured meat and a small selection of cheeses. Unfortunately, one of the cheeses had an unpleasant flavor that made it inedible for our table. The bread service was a highlight, offering a nice variety of breads and accompaniments. The ribeye was cooked well and enjoyable, but it did not stand out from what I've experienced at other upscale steakhouses. The five-cheese couscous was the biggest disappointment, as it lacked the rich, flavorful profile its description suggested. While the service and presentation were appreciated, the overall dining experience did not justify the high expectations or the price point.

Though pop-up showers were still lingering, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on courtyard dining--and I am so glad we did! Sheltered under the green umbrellas surrounded by historic brick walls, lush greenery, and rain-kissed citrus trees, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and peaceful. The courtyard's intimate layout even brought a bit of extra magic to our evening. We sat near another wonderful couple (and their adorable daughter) and became fast friends, sharing laughs and conversation throughout the night. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too! It is rare to find an experience where top-tier hospitality, a breathtaking environment, and great food come together so (seemingly) effortlessly. Café Amélie is an absolute must-visit! The host was extremely welcoming and friendly. Our server and helpers were over quickly to drop off waters and greet us. I ended up ordered the salmon. With it being so early and only one or 2 other tables besides my friend and me, the food did take longer to come out than I expected it to. Both of us did thoroughly enjoy what we got. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.
