Great staff, very cool vibes, and the most AMAZING music! The Herlin Riley band was INCREDIBLE!! Truly, a fun and engaging show with cocktails and food available. Seating could be on the floor or in the balcony but no seats were "bad" seats.

Yes, the catfish was delicious and the loaded baked potato was one of the best I have had. I am glad we stopped in for dinner. The jazz music was amazing. Our server was on her business made sure we were comfortable the whole visit. We enjoyed our meal.

My Cajun fish was delicious and filling. The portions are generous. I chose red beans & rice as my side. They were bland. I've definitely had better. Ended my meal with the peach cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream drizzled with caramel sauce and sprinkled with powdered sugar. It was very good. Service was very slow. After the initial greeting it was a very long wait until the server returned to our table.

I've been here probably five or six times now and I can honestly say that every bartender we've had has been super friendly and knows the menu and area well. I have also listened to live music here twice and the ambience is just so wonderful. I'm knocking off one star because I really didn't like the food. The burger was terribly dry and it was the main course so that was a disappointment. My boyfriend had a baked potato for his side, and it was lacking the toppings that he was told he would get on it. Overall, great place to get drinks and watch a show! Skip the food and dine elsewhere.

Great location if you're planning to visit the Frenchmen St. Art Bazaar--it's right across the street, and you can enjoy live jazz music over dinner. Our server was very friendly, and they were happy to split the check for our group of six. The food was surprisingly solid! Everyone in our group enjoyed their dishes, and the prices were very reasonable. My personal favorite was the crawfish étouffée. It may not be the absolute best food in NOLA, but it was a delicious, satisfying stop before a night on Frenchmen Street. It does get busy, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation.

Great little spot on Frenchman to grab a bite of traditional NOLA cuisine. Decent portions and lots of flavor. the grit cakes were so good (the solid cakes not runny grits) and the sauceeee, it was peppery but not too spicy. Nola Sampler with etouffee, red beans and rice, and Chicken & Sausage Jambalaya, all great. Also generous large shrimp on the egg app and dinner.

We had a six top in for dinner before a show at Blue Nile and our waiter was very nice and great in handling our orders. I had a Sazerac and a mushroom cheddar burger with a side of red beans and rice. The Sazerac was absolutely delicious and not too booze forward. My burger was perfectly cooked and very good as was the side.

The best way to experience Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro is to grab dinner first and then stick around for a show in the jazz room. I had the Half & Half (Catfish and Shrimp) with Red Beans and Rice, and it was fantastic. The vibe is super relaxed and full of good energy -- the perfect spot for a night out. We were lucky enough to catch blues legend Chris Thomas King, but the performers change regularly, so definitely check their website to see who's playing. Pro tip: book your tickets ahead of time -- it gets busy!

Got in quick, food was delicious (as pictured) especially the gumbo and seafood pasta. Also enjoyed jambalaya and etouffee Not saying it's the best in New Orleans, but best food on Frenchmen street by far and great food, great drinks, great music, and great vibe.

Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro is the perfect restaurant to experience true New Orleans culture. Located on Frenchman Street, this restaurant offers great food and live music. We did not attend the live show, but we were still able to enjoy the live music since it is located in the same building. I ordered chicken tenders, which is listed as an appetizer. The tenders were OK, but I believe there were more tasty menu options instead. I also ordered their version of a rum punch which contained an overly generous amount of alcohol. If you prefer cocktails where it is difficult to taste the alcohol due to the sweetness of the drink, this is not the right drink for you lol. We ended the night with a brownie sundae as a dessert. The brownie sundae was absolutely delicious and was my favorite dish of the night. I would love to return in the future to order seafood and attend the live jazz band show. I saw several other guest who ordered a shrimp Poboy. I did not taste the shrimp, but I saw it was loaded with tons of shrimp. Lastly our waitress was very sweet.

The gumbo and etouffé were delicious! Our server was very attentive. Cute restaurant with jazzy art on the walls. Live music was later in the evening, check for ticket prices.

This was a return visit to Snug Harbor on Frenchman Street! Always a cool place and known for their musical performances and good food. Sadly, for me, the food quality has suffered. The food was lukewarm and the dried out! The staff were personable and friendly and that helped with the overall disappointment of the meal! I say...go for the music...stick with drinks.

Do you have to be at least 21 to enjoy the show?

    You should be 13+

Is there a good place to park nearby?

Sorry, we walked from our hotel. There seemed to be a lot of street parking but only limited spots, and this was before Mardi Gras .

I heard that if you have dinner, they throw in show tickets. sounds like an awfully good deal. is it so?

Not true at all. If your lucky you can buy a ticket the night of the show but they are usually sold out. If you want to be sure you get into the show buy your tickets ahead of time.

We have tickets to a 10P Show Saturday night. Party of two. If we want to grab a quick bite and drink before the show, how early should we arrive and/or make a dinner reservation?

I would recommend to make dinner reservation for 8pm. You would want to join the queue around 9.15. People line up so they can get the best seats.

Rich, layered, and well-balanced with fresh elements that worked together on the plate. For entrées, we had a variety of cuts, including the Australian Wagyu, ribeye, butcher's cut, and lamb chops. The Wagyu stood out immediately. High quality, great sear, and finished tableside, which added to the overall experience without taking away from the food itself. Each steak was cooked precisely to temperature and full of flavor. The lamb chops paired with carrots and brussels were well executed and balanced. The sides complemented the meal well and did not feel like afterthoughts. You can also see their in-house dry aging setup, which speaks to the level of detail they put into their steak program. It shows in the final product. The drinks were solid across the board. The Old Fashioned and bourbon selections paired well with the meal and matched the food's quality. Service by Noelle was attentive and responsive throughout the night. Everything flowed well, and we were taken care of without feeling rushed or hovered over. This is not a casual dinner spot, but for a celebration or a night where you want a full experience, Doris Metropolitan absolutely delivers.

I visited for the first time after receiving several positive recommendations from colleagues, so…read moremy expectations were quite high. Overall, the experience was average and did not fully meet those expectations. The charcuterie and cheese board, priced at $68, was underwhelming in both portion size and value. It included only six thin slices of cured meat and a small selection of cheeses. Unfortunately, one of the cheeses had an unpleasant flavor that made it inedible for our table. The bread service was a highlight, offering a nice variety of breads and accompaniments. The ribeye was cooked well and enjoyable, but it did not stand out from what I've experienced at other upscale steakhouses. The five-cheese couscous was the biggest disappointment, as it lacked the rich, flavorful profile its description suggested. While the service and presentation were appreciated, the overall dining experience did not justify the high expectations or the price point.

Though pop-up showers were still lingering, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on courtyard dining--and I am so glad we did! Sheltered under the green umbrellas surrounded by historic brick walls, lush greenery, and rain-kissed citrus trees, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and peaceful. The courtyard's intimate layout even brought a bit of extra magic to our evening. We sat near another wonderful couple (and their adorable daughter) and became fast friends, sharing laughs and conversation throughout the night. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too! It is rare to find an experience where top-tier hospitality, a breathtaking environment, and great food come together so (seemingly) effortlessly. Café Amélie is an absolute must-visit! The host was extremely welcoming and friendly. Our server and helpers were over quickly to drop off waters and greet us. I ended up ordered the salmon. With it being so early and only one or 2 other tables besides my friend and me, the food did take longer to come out than I expected it to. Both of us did thoroughly enjoy what we got. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.
