It was my first time in NOLA and my first burlesque show. The service was extremely slow (Gavin was our server and kept forgetting things we ordered). I got my food as the show was ending which was unfortunate but the drinks were great. The show is performed in an intimate setting, so no matter where you sit you can see the stage. The dancers walk around and engage with the audience. It was a fun night.

The act was ok, but for a music venue to sell tickets and allow people to scream their conversations at the bar and have their phone alarms go off for extended periods of time and not address it with the patrons is rude to everyone they bought a ticket to hear the music and to the performers. It was very distracting and made me want to leave.

Awesome burlesque show! Don't be shy if you want to have a great time. The dancers were talented and each was unique. Rory K was the singer, and added a nice background for the dancers. Adriana, Cinnamon, and Pinkie were lots of fun. Sorry I can't recall the others names, all good! Service was good, a great time for all!

last night I went to see Nayo Jones at the Jazz Playbouse the show was excellent. I got the best service from Gavin. he was attentive, courteous, and engaging. I work in hospitality for 14 years and it was so nice to receive the service I have so many guest. thank you Gavin for making my retirement celebration from hospitality so memorable .Debbie Miller

On the latest trip to Nola i finally made it to a Jazz club. I made the reservations online with the ticket prices really reasonable. Located deep on Bourbon St the club us nesseled inside of a hotel. We took our seats in front of the stage and was warmly greeted by our server. We ordered crabcakes with a side of rice and a few drinks. The featured performer and her band was outstanding!! Since it was the last show of the evening we were treated to a wonderful encore. The scene was cozy, the staff great and the food/drinks delightful.

The Brassaholics did their thing. The wait staff was very attentive. The venue is in the heart if the French Quarter ion Bourbon Street and the stream of people and music and libations is flowing. Good energy and a good time. Oh, and I enjoyed my Ella Fitzgerald martini.

Here to listen to music for the French Quarter Festival and listened to Chucky C and Friends. They are so good and talented! Such a great venue too, comfortable seating with high table seating. The service is great in that they are very attentive. Had the Spiced Pear Royal which was delicious!

We came here on a Sunday night around 7:30 when the show started. The seating is a little weird (the reason for 4 stars and not 5). They jam everyone together in rows with no space in between your neighbor and I didn't like that. I don't like being that close to strangers, but was able to get an end seat. The drinks were good and moderately priced. The music was very nice to listen to. They had some desserts and other small plates that we didn't try, but they looked good.

I was not expecting such a good show! Extremely impressive. Highly recommend. I didn't try any food or drinks. I was happy with the show

My wife said what would you like to do on your birthday? I said I want to have a Sazerac in my hand and listen to Jazz. Enter The Jazz Playhouse. There is a sensory overload when you visit New Orleans, there's so much to do and see. I searched for Jazz clubs on Yelp as well as talking to the front desk at my hotel. The Jazz Playhouse checked all the boxes for us. Walking in, there was no cover charge as in other reviews. We sat down at a table and ordered drinks. Then, the band on stage brought the house down! We're so close to the band, The Jazz Playhouse is a great venue. It has a nice long bar and the tables can accommodate all party sizes. Our waitress & I start talking after the show. I told her, this was such a great time, thank you. She says, tomorrow night is another great band, the Brass-A-Holics. If you want to see a great show, come tomorrow night! Man... We got there the next night when the doors opened! I ordered the official drink of New Orleans again, The Jazz Playhouse makes a Mi-T-Fine Sazerac. The Brass-A-Holics come on stage and just slay. They were soooo good! The best part? All for free, no cover change for me & Mrs. Bill S. The Jazz Playhouse was the highlight of our vacation.

Just came from a Jazz show here featuring the Nayo Jones experience and it was one of the best experiences altogether I've had with Jazz. Brilliant, powerful vocalist with great crew and fun solos. If you get some food here, don't sleep on the alligator bites. That pepper jelly is amazing. Char-grilled oysters nice too!

OK, I'm not really a fan of jazz music but you can't come to New Orleans and not listen to live jazz! And I'm glad so did! The band was good and it was fun. The place is small/intimate and it was packed, chairs set up facing the stage. I enjoyed this place more than the spots I hit up on Frenchmen Street (which online research led me to believe has the best live jazz spots). I deducted 2 stars only because the the drink menu listed the drink I ordered as $13 but I was charged $15. I would have told the bartender but he wasn't very pleasant so I wanted to keep interaction with him minimal. Oh, not gonna lie, what really made me choose this place is that the signage outside said "jazz, absinthe, and burlesque". While there was plenty of the first two, apparantly burlesque is only on certain nights. Haha. There is a drink minimum of one per set.

    Me and my hubby!

In town for my birthday and always go to the Jazz Playhouse to see the amazing Brass-A-Holics! A great jazz band!! They perform Thursday nights at the Royal Sonesta Hotel Bar from 7:30 until 10:30. We love Winston, the band leader and best trombonist in New Orleans!! We always sit at the bar. Demarcus, our bartender, took great care of us & made amazing drinks! We always have a great time here. It is a great jazz spot in NOLA. You can dress casual or dress up!

Rich, layered, and well-balanced with fresh elements that worked together on the plate. For entrées, we had a variety of cuts, including the Australian Wagyu, ribeye, butcher's cut, and lamb chops. The Wagyu stood out immediately. High quality, great sear, and finished tableside, which added to the overall experience without taking away from the food itself. Each steak was cooked precisely to temperature and full of flavor. The lamb chops paired with carrots and brussels were well executed and balanced. The sides complemented the meal well and did not feel like afterthoughts. You can also see their in-house dry aging setup, which speaks to the level of detail they put into their steak program. It shows in the final product. The drinks were solid across the board. The Old Fashioned and bourbon selections paired well with the meal and matched the food's quality. Service by Noelle was attentive and responsive throughout the night. Everything flowed well, and we were taken care of without feeling rushed or hovered over. This is not a casual dinner spot, but for a celebration or a night where you want a full experience, Doris Metropolitan absolutely delivers.

Overall, the experience was average and did not fully meet those expectations. The charcuterie and cheese board, priced at $68, was underwhelming in both portion size and value. It included only six thin slices of cured meat and a small selection of cheeses. Unfortunately, one of the cheeses had an unpleasant flavor that made it inedible for our table. The bread service was a highlight, offering a nice variety of breads and accompaniments. The ribeye was cooked well and enjoyable, but it did not stand out from what I've experienced at other upscale steakhouses. The five-cheese couscous was the biggest disappointment, as it lacked the rich, flavorful profile its description suggested. While the service and presentation were appreciated, the overall dining experience did not justify the high expectations or the price point.

Though pop-up showers were still lingering, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on courtyard dining--and I am so glad we did! Sheltered under the green umbrellas surrounded by historic brick walls, lush greenery, and rain-kissed citrus trees, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and peaceful. The courtyard's intimate layout even brought a bit of extra magic to our evening. We sat near another wonderful couple (and their adorable daughter) and became fast friends, sharing laughs and conversation throughout the night. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too! It is rare to find an experience where top-tier hospitality, a breathtaking environment, and great food come together so (seemingly) effortlessly. Café Amélie is an absolute must-visit! The host was extremely welcoming and friendly. Our server and helpers were over quickly to drop off waters and greet us. I ended up ordered the salmon. With it being so early and only one or 2 other tables besides my friend and me, the food did take longer to come out than I expected it to. Both of us did thoroughly enjoy what we got. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.

We were seated in the upstairs area and tried some of their drinks. We got the Brandy Crusta which is their most popular drink and the Pouvez-Vous Poulet which is a seasonal cocktail. The Brandy Crusta has the cup dipped in sugar with a fairly strong cocktail within. Definitely get this when you are here as that is one of the best Brandy Crustas and is historical. The Pouvez-Vous Poulet is a duck fat washed rum cocktail and is also very delicious. You cannot really go wrong with any cocktail, but definitely order the Brandy Crusta for the true experience here. Though, honestly, while the cocktails are good, it was not as memorable as the other Top 50 Best Bars in the World that I have been to, but I won't dock a star off because of this, since the cocktails and overall experience otherwise were fantastic. Service is good but can be a bit slow, but it is an acceptable tradeoff for a more quiet ambience compared to downstairs.

Unfortunately, we were leaving the next day, so they did the next best thing: they comped almost half of our bill. WELL DONE!) The restaurant is very inviting with parlors and an atrium. The tables are spaced well apart for noise and a possible romantic dinner/Breakfast. :-) Once seated, the server was working very hard but found us. (They may have been short since the jazz festival was in town) She took our drink orders, which arrived quickly. She explained the menu and let us think about our choice. The drinks were Flaura and Fauna, and Ballad Inventory. Both were unique and tasty. When our server returned, we ordered all of our items. We ordered Chicken under a brick and Braised Short Ribs for entrees. We ordered Roasted Mushrooms, Charred Broccoli, and Dinner Rolls. The Kitchen fell short in timing as rolls arrived at the end of our meal, and a few dishes were lukewarm at best. When refired, they were very good. I offered to order food to-go so we could at least sit down and get started while waiting, and she told me if I did that they would remove our name from the waitlist because "you have to pick one or the other." No willingness to problem solve whatsoever. She repeatedly said she was "sorry," but her actions showed the opposite.
