The Rambler is located on Frenchman Street. We had stopped in to grab a beer before going to another bar to see a band and ended up staying longer than planned. Walking in it offered a laid-back atmosphere where you can unwind and socialize in style. The décor is eclectic yet charming, with vintage accents and comfortable seating creating a relaxed ambiance. The friendly staff adds to the inviting atmosphere, making guests feel right at home from the moment they walk through the door. They had multiple signature beer-cocktail creations, each drink is expertly crafted with attention to detail and tasted fabulous. I would have given a much better rating until I went into the restroom. I felt like I had walked into some outhouse, disgusting would not do it justice. I decided at that point that I didn't really have to go but it was time to go because I needed to go. Overall I would say stop in for a drink but don't stay long because if nature calls it needs to call you somewhere else because you do not wanna have to make use of the facilities. read more

I love this bar and I don't want to give it a bad review. I frequent this spot as most of the bartenders are absolutely wonderful and make me feel very welcome, especially when Kaegen and Evan are working; wonderful guys that take great care and treat everyone well. Those two are happy to let me hang out all night and treat me with respect and decency. However, there are some nights when I don't feel quite so welcome when other bartenders are working. I would love for this to be a place where I feel comfortable every night of the week, as I work nearby and need a little release after a long shift of taking care of others and wish to experience that same level of care extended to me. Went there on September 12 with a group of friends. The bar was quiet and we were the only girls there. We actually had a pretty nice time except the bartender wrote in a very generous tip for himself, which was different than what I wrote on my receipt. My bill was $18 for two sun cruisers and one soda. I tipped three dollars. The bartender changed the amount to give himself a $10 tip... On three drinks. My credit card notified me because it was a 56%. The service was terrible and I thought three dollars was generous considering I waited over 10 minutes for a drink and a nearly empty bar. The bartender was too busy taking shots with a bachelor party. I'm all for fun but not for stealing. I'm positive in the amount that I wrote and tipped because I'm pregnant and sober a.k.a. the soda ordered. Would not recommend this place because of the thieving staff. Also, there was a drug addict passed out in the bathroom for nearly 45 minutes. Bartender had a long ponytail and a patterned button up shirt and was banging on the door and cussing out the drug addict when he finally came out of the bathroom. read more

I was recently taken to this place during my trip to New Orleans. I don't think food is served in this place. The service was great, especially by the bartender who works the earlier shift. It is a chill place, where you can enjoy a drink and watch whatever game, in this case football, on the screen that are around the establishment. It is a very relaxing place and I must say that they restrooms, considering the type of establishment that it is, are very clean. This is always a huge plus when you have to use the restroom in a public place. I highly recommend it it if you are looking for a place to enjoy a drink with friends and don't want to be around a large crowd. read more

Horrible, horrendous people work here and associate with the people that work here. I got a vodka tonic and asked for a lime, right off the bat, after giving a 20% tip mind you, the bartender had told told me 'sure', and finally went and grabbed a box of limes from the back after the 3rd lime reminder and had asked her friend/associate who was off the clock (or just hanging out), to cut the limes. Her friend had an empty cup in front of her that the bartender gave her, and she started cutting the limes but was only putting them in this cup, and didnt want to give me one. I had asked her if I could have a lime, but she just ignored me. I finally gave up and went to sit down with my friends. After a few sips of my limeless vodka tonic, I went back up 10 minutes later to ask for another lime after her whole entire empty cup was now full with limes. I asked once, she ignored me again, then I asked a second and 3rd time and was instantly threatened by this woman who waved the knife in the air at me saying "you're not getting anything from me". I'm not even exaggerating this story, I just asked for a lime, patiently, not on an annoying level at all, and the 3rd time she just snapped. Idk who this was, she wasn't behind the bar but clearly knew and associated with the bartender, but I know what a threat is, and my friends and I all left this terrible place. Never go here. There's nothing but horrible, horrendous people that work here that will get mad at you for asking for a slice of a lime which is absolutely ridiculous that I even need to complain about this. read more

If I could put zero stars, I would. I just got into town on the evening flight from Orlando with my wife and in-laws, and we walked across the street from our hotel to check out the local nightlife. We walked by the only place on Frenchman St that wasn't busy, and decided to pop in to check it out. I've since found out why it only had 8 occupants while the remainder of the locations nearby seemed to be flush with clientele. He asked only my wife for her identification after paying us no mind at the bar for 10 minutes, and then immediately decided it was fake, insulted her teeth for being different from the time her identification photo was taken SIX years ago, and told us he knew when we walked in she was already too drunk to be served. Mind you, as previously stated, we've only just arrived to the area, and had only consumed one drink each at the bar right next door. Needless to say, we left without a fight and found much better places to spend our money on the same street. If you're a tourist I would absolutely avoid this location. If you're the owner/manager of this bar, I would fire the inconsiderate moron you had tending the bar on the 27th of June. It's one thing to refuse someone service for being under the impression of a fake license (although it's a completely false accusation in this case), but it's another for being incredibly insulting in the process. read more

What an absolute joke of a place! We just checked into our hotel and decided to check out the local area. We had 1 drink in the bar next door and decided to venture along the street as the vibe was great! We came across this bar and it was DEAD we decided to give it ago and BOY did we make the wrong decision. He accused my daughter of a fake ID,a rude comment about her teeth, and that she looked younger than she seemed and that she also looked drunk(only had 1 drink as we landed an hour ago! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IS SUCKS!!!There are plenty more places way better than this. If I could give zero stars I would. A complete a****** bartender. Went twice with my dog and the first time was welcomed in with open arms while everyone got down on the ground and played with her. Second time some very weak looking bearded bartender showing off for someone very rudely screamed at us while we were standing 2 feet inside the door deciding what we wanted to drink. Also just as rudely kicked out the old guy that sleeps in front of his mural on Decatur. Wonder what he was compensating for. I laughed cause I found it so pathetic but it did upset my wife which does upset me. You know he was fake brave behind that bar with his perceived power but really he's just a rude little weakling trying to appear not weak. F*** him. Every other business and person along the way were very sweet.
