Ambiance - everyone is friendly and hospitable. The tables are spaced out to be comfortable and enjoy the show. The lighting is comfortable and cute fixtures. The music is great!

Grown folks location which is exactly what I was looking for. The mango habanero salmon was delicious, and the watermelon martini was just right. Music was amazing and the owner was so nice and accommodating. Will definitely be back!

Everyone passes this place daily and would never think hey I should try this place. Minimal yelp reviews mostly old etc.. Never judge a book by its cover right? This place looks nothing like you would expect from the outside. Nice bar, stage and eating area. Attended a brunch & burlesque show here presented by the amazing "Hiya Heights". Now the food... Probably the BEST Salmon I have ever eaten in life! A smoked Chipotle Salmon with a corn sauce cooked from heaven. Shrimp and grits bomb. Last but not least!! it's a sin for something to be this good "White Chocolate Bread Pudding Balls" !! Get them!!

Worth a visit on Saturday night for dates. They have live music and the gumbo is pretty good.

I went to the club last week and had a wonderful time. Loved the salmon. What made it though was the owner and the jazz that they played. There is a small cover for the band. Classy place for grown folks. The band played two sets till 12:00 PM and they place was rocking. The only thing was there was a table that kept on talking and was a minor distraction.

On a previous trip we had seen an evening show at Snug Harbor and wanted to experience something else. We had read good things about the Spotted Cat and their sets run all afternoon. We were a little confused about price because one of our guidebooks said there is no cover but you're supposed to order drinks. There was a doorman who charged us something like $5 each (still cheap!) and we ordered beer and a N/A drink at the bar and listened to a great jazz group playing old-time jazz. Interior is tiny and you're pretty close to the performers. We were standing at first but eventually found some seats as people left. There is even a back courtyard if you want to be outside, although I don't know if you can hear the music or not. We bought a CD from the band and enjoyed it when we got back home. All in all, a great New Orleans experience.

Overall had a nice time enjoying the music!

So glad we had an opportunity to reserve tickets (highly recommend you do) for this intimate musical experience. It highlights the incredible talent, creativity, passion and FUN these artists have for jazz and their instruments. Feeding off each other's energy and really had you moving in your seat. Front seats are WORTH the money!! Each artist got to highlight a song of their choosing and each one ATE! They left no crumbs. I must have been a smiling fool in the 2nd row seats, but music, personally, is the best way to get through me. Years in music myself, I understand the dedication and commitment it takes. You FEEL that here when they are on stage performing. Jazz and its spontaneity and history is the cornerstone to Preservation Hall. I LOVE that there is no recording/picture taking allowed (unless the artists strictly tell you otherwise). It helps keep their art intact but helps immerse yourselves with them into their craft. Living in the moment. The last song they kindly let us record/take pictures and I will treasure them until I can come back. Side note: that trumpeter (I believe his name was Will?) has a VOICE as smooth as velvet and I was mesmerized. Video shows a brief moment of the night.

If anyone is military, they do not offer a discount, but they aren't the only ones to do so and its ok. Glasses of wine are $16 a pop. Kinda pricey if you ask me but I believe that is standard when its a restaurant in a hotel. People were really nice, friendly, and helpful. I asked for other locations as farvas wine tasting and music and they helped out with that. The only reason I gave 4 starts versus 5 was the confusion if I could taste the wine before I commit and no military discount. Hate me if you want but people volunteer their lives to protect others but if it was an influencer, bet their food would be free. (Tell me I'm wrong). Must see! Visit! Vibes!

The location is right on Canal downtown, so that has it's pros and cons, but we didn't have any trouble getting there. I got 2 show tickets and a valet ticket online. Once I arrived I drove to the Sheratons valet parking and handed over my car. This part was such a relief. Who the heck wants to walk these New Orleans streets in heels to attend an event? Not I. So I was glad they offer valet parking. When I walked into the hotel finding the event space was a little difficult. I found a staff member and they pointed me in the right direction. Once I got into the event space it was really nice. It looks like it's an art museum with nothing but different variations of the famous blue dog painting, which I thought was cool. Rachel was my bartender. She was very polite. She let me know that I would be served drinks at the table/area I chose to sit at so I didn't have to wait at the bar in order to get a drink. I ordered a French 75 which was great and I also had a cheese plate. They didn't skimp on the cheese plate. It was a decent size for the price and it included about 5 different cheeses, strawberries, grapes, and blackberries. Very tasty. The jazz musicians started playing around 8:45 I think. The music was great. It wasn't the kind of jazz you get up and dance to it was the kind of jazz you sit and listen to while really taking in and appreciating the amount of skill it takes to create music like this. It was a very soothing experience. The lighting didn't allow for great pictures but I still managed to snap a few.

The peas seemed to have poured straight from the can, no sign of any cooking, seasoning or love. The meal in its entirety lacked any home cooking attention or effort. Price was $12... while this could be considered a good price, all things need be considered. For me, a lunch special advertised out front of a restaurant, is the pinnacle draw to entice/ welcome people to come on in, have a seat and enjoy a meal prepared with love and care. It should be a small representation of the entire menu offering..( if you like this ...you should come back and try....... ! On your next visit) Service, was minimal, drink orders taken as the menus were placed, orders taken upon drink delivery. Food served timely. Then the wait began... we finished our meals and waited... for about 5 minutes there were no waitstaff to be seen in the dining area, and never did get an offer of drink refills. Finally ( another 10 minutes) attracted the attention of one of the waitstaff ( not ours) asked for and received our bill. Paid the bill then we were offered drinks to go.. I loved this place, under its former marquee, local home cooking at it heart... sad to see it go this way. I'm sure to give it another chance at some point, but sure to shy away from the " Lunch Special" and look to the menu offerings.
