I had this fear that the entire tooth would fall out and quickly turned to Yelp to find any dentist in the area that would be open on a Sunday. That was when I came across positive reviews for Dr. Baek at Healthy Smile Dental. Their operational hours listed was 9:00AM-3:00 on Sundays so I called at 9:01 pleading to seen. The receptionist was very kind and was able to fit me in at 10:30AM so I quickly rushed over there. They had me seated and took x-rays to show if there was any nerve damage. Dr Baek explained that there was a possibility of another filling falling out since the tooth wasn't as strong from prior fillings and the tooth next to it had a small fracture in a filling. Rather than just patching the problem up temporarily, she gave me a permanent solution that would still save my teeth from potential nerve damage and having to get a root canal down the road. She discussed getting a temporary crown and the process. Throughout the procedure she made sure to check on me and we made a follow up appointment for 3 weeks to complete the procedure. So grateful for a knowledgeable dentist that is open on Sundays!

But if I did, these guys would be my very first choice. It was cost-effective ($100-$200 less than competing options) and they had some limited availability (vs. other places, which were more expensive AND less available), so I can't say enough good things. The office looked clean and professional, and the dentist who came in for the quick inspection was extremely nice - Dr. Taqvi - and if I were living in the area, he'd be at the top of my list. The front desk staff was hit or miss - some of the folks were extremely nice and courteous, while others (and I think this applies to the call center staff in DG) were not so nice and not so helpful. I explained on the phone I wanted a CLEANING with the hygienist ONLY and would not want an exam or X-rays (since I would be paying out of pocket because of no longer having insurance). I had an exam, cleaning and full X-rays as of November 2025 with no issues and the person on phone said this was fine. I come to my very early appointment and the hygienist comes out to tell me I would need xrays, after explaining everything AGAIN, I promptly had my last X-rays sent over to them. Then the office manager comes out to tell me that my X-rays are fine but I would still need an exam since it had been so long since I had one with their practice even though I had seen a dentist for an excellent check up not even a year ago.... mind you a cleaning is over $150 out of pocket and over an additional $50 something dollars for an exam I certainly did not need. After the manager tried to bully me into the exam, I proceeded to walk out as I was told they wouldn't clean my teeth without an exam! How utterly unprofessional that first this wasn't clarified when on the phone initially and to be literally pressured on the spot after the fact was soooo bad. My daughter is still a patient there and I had been a good standing patient for many years to be treated with such disregard and to be turned away over $50 basically. I've personally worked in dental field for over 20 years and this was a very poor experience to say the least. I would see Patients come in all the time for just a routine cleaning without a hassle whatsoever. That's the experience you will get in a corporate owned practice that is all about the numbers and bottom line. So when a cracked tooth called for an extraction and implant I needed to have the best and I found the best in Dr. Denemark for this procedure. Dr. Denemark and his team of professionals made an 1hr long procedure feel like 30 minutes and with no pain during or post surgery. I highly recommend the product he recommended called "Nu Calm". To be brief, you are asked to chew a few tablets, then a set of Bose headphones are placed on your head and classical music is played; within minutes you are in a calm and meditated state during the surgery and will feel no pain during or post surgery. I truly am surprised that more Dentists are not using Nu Calm. I would also like to recommend Dr. Michael Morgan of Hinsdale (Smiles by Morgan). Great guy and a great dentist.
