We came for brunch for our first time at The Halston. We had reservations and were seated right away. They had a DJ playing for brunch which was cool too. They offered some brunch items but no drink specials for brunch. We had the Long Island sushi roll, crispy tuna rice, onion ring tower, spin dip and wedge salad. The spin dip was not that great, but everything else was delicious. Entrees we did steak sandwich, another sushi roll, avocado toast, ribs and stuffed Nutella pancakes. We all enjoyed our meals. We shared the hot fudge sundae and Cinnabon which were great as well. It'd be nice if they had a bottomless drink option but nonetheless we enjoyed our time and will probably be back. read more

This is one of my favorite places on Long Island to go to for Happy Hour. I usually sit at the bar. The crowd is hip, and the noise depends on the size of the crowd. My favorite appetizer, the New Zealand Lamb Chops, is a must try! I get it every time I come here because it is tender, well seasoned and fresh. The temperature of the cooked appetizers and entrées is always hot. Fonzie, who is the head bartender, makes cocktails so strong that I have to limit myself to one. The service on New Year's Eve was not acceptable. Everything was backed up. We didn't get seated for an hour after our reservation at 11:15. We didn't get our dinner for another hour and we've got a dessert until practically 2 o'clock in the morning. We don't know why there was such a gap. We didn't get our champagne to toast in the New Year's Eve and the food was OK. It wasn't exceptional. It was good. The clams would be asked for we were so not to order them cause I would take a longer, but they came pretty much the same time as the other appetizers the sushi they messed up on my entrée. It was supposed to be a prime rib and spareribs and then I get up getting the pasta with the prime rib. If inspired by the unique and unforgettable fashion icon, Halston, as the icon the restaurant is opened, plenty of windows, spacious, defined lines on the design. TH has parking; it has a full bar, incidentally, Lychee Martinis are a favorite, the Lychee Martini was by far the best I have had; kudos to the bartender. I came here for lunch with my work crew to celebrate the holidays. The restaurant's decor has changed again since it used to be Jewel and then Bijou. I thought it looks really nice and can see why it's popular with the work crowd. We had the Onion Ring Tower, the Spinach and Artichoke, and the Fried Calamari for appetizers. They were all very good and better than what I had expected. I had the Brown Butter Warm Lobster Roll for my entree. It was a very big portion with a lot of lobsters and it was pretty good. The restaurant itself is lovely - good food and good service, and modern decor. My friend and I liked our waiter - he made a few mistakes that weren't really a big deal (we didn't even mention it to him) and immediately rectified the issues. He didn't even have to! My only complaint is the crowd who goes to dance... the DJ is awesome and we love the music, but for some reason it attracts a trashy crowd (Think Jersey Shore times 10!!!). We recently returned to The Halston in Melville and had such an amazing time. The food is top quality, and the hospitality is truly unmatched. We were lucky to have Kenny as our waiter. He was absolutely incredible. He gave us thoughtful, insightful recommendations from the menu, which really guided our choices. He checked in often to make sure everything was perfect and was genuinely kind and attentive the entire time. One of the highlights of the night was when Chef John, who helped prepare and arrange our meal, came by our table. He took a moment to chat with us about the restaurant's vision and menu. It made the experience even more personal and memorable. The ambience is gorgeous which is perfect for a dinner date or a fun girls' night out. We started with the yellowtail sashimi, which was super fresh, and the spicy crispy tuna, which was honestly one of the best bites of the night. The octopus was tender, the lamb chops were full of flavor, and the rigatoni was perfectly al dente. Beautiful location with no bueno food is how I would best describe The Halston. My sister in law had a coupon for this new place on Rt 110. Rt 110, where I used to work 20 years ago, route 110?? Yep, pull into the parking lot of the office building and the restaurant is to the right side. They also have an outdoor patio where you can hear the traffic... Listen, if the food was good I would care less about the location. It seems like a nice place to meet your co workers for a happy hour drink. We have reservations on Sunday night. It seems we arrived after a party, lots of young girls dressed up and walking out as we walked inside. Once inside, there is a beautiful looking bar as well as a dining room with high ceilings. It almost looks like a cruise ship, Very elegant. My wife & I grab a cocktail at the bar while we wait for our in laws. Once they arrive we grab our drinks and are escorted to our table. The menu seems pricey but for items that shouldn't be pricey like a $25 hamburger platter? We started with appetizers for the table, baked clams and calamari. The calamari was excellent and prepared in a Rhode Island style, with a little heat and red peppers. The baked clams, they tasted straight out of the box. I don't want to eat a $25 hamburger so I ordered the salmon. Salmon is the easiest fish to cook, there is no way a chef can screw it up. Man.. The skin was rubber and the fish had absolutely no seasoning. The chef overcooked the fish and served it to me. My sister in law ordered the Short Rib Gigli with braised short rib ragu. (In my Chandler Bing voice) can you "shred" the short rib? It was served cut up in chunks, it was tough to eat. Now the manager comes over. Is everything ok? Are you sure? I didn't want to tell him thought the food was yuckko. Comes time to leave and the restaurant? Its packed! Its Sunday night and the place is packed. Listen, who am I to judge? Came here with friends to have one last harrah before baby arrives. It is a pretty restaurant and even loved the trees outside were decorated and lit up. The menu has something for everyone. The waitress (wish I knew her name) was very sweet and hospitable. I had the chicken Parm alla vodka with rigatoni instead of spaghetti. The portion was huge (practically falling off of the plate lol). For dessert, they allowed my friends to bring in outside cake which they came out with a big sparkler with. This is a new restaurant and we had the most incredible time for our anniversary dinner. We arrived early and had two drinks at the bar. The bartender, Marga, was so sweet and welcoming and made delicious drinks for us. The restaurant is large and beautiful. The menu has a good amount of options ranging from pastas, steak, sushi, and fish. My husband and I started off our meal with a sushi roll, which was delicious. They have a sushi bar in the restaurant. For our entree, I got the cod and my husband got the steak. We really enjoyed our meals. I really can't get on this train with The Halston (former Bjou, former Jewel) vibe where there is loud dance music playing at all times and you're trying to enjoy dinner and attempting to have a conversation. And I'm talking deep-house-in-the-club-get-lit music, not simply Top 40 on a little louder volume. Listen, I get it, some people want to rage and rock out with friends when they go to dinner and the high energy that comes with the music - and if that is you than this spot WILL work. However, if you are trying to enjoy a conversation with who you come with and relax with a high end experience - hard no. The food IS good and the staff are always friendly - but I'm not about the atmosphere of music blasting while you are trying to enjoy a nice dinner and talk WITH people. I came on Saturday night with my family, and entered into the same lively atmosphere that I was accustomed to when I used to come back when it was Bijou. It's nice to see the buzz hasn't died down under the new name. However, the food wasn't great. Nothing felt fresh. Our orders came out really quick from the kitchen despite the restaurant being full to capacity. I was happy to get my food promptly, but would've sacrificed a few more mins to get a freshly prepared dish. Our waiter was incredibly busy so we couldn't get the attention we needed, but we could tell he was managing a lot so didn't complain. Had such a fun and unique time at The Halston! Came here for a Sunday Birthday Brunch and the advertising was right -- boujee indeed. We were only allowed to be sat at our table once everyone arrived. I am a fan of the fact that we had 2 waiters and endless staff to keep refilling our water. There was also visible managerial staff looking over the floor and kitchen. Food came out in a timely manner and they got all food substitutions correct! Prices matched the intention. There was a good DJ playing for brunch -- along with a dance floor and party lights. We were sat in the middle of the room but it was so loud that we could barely hear each other talk. I feel bad for the people that got a table closer to the DJ. You also have to walk through the crowd of dancing drunks to make it to the bathroom. I ordered the sweet potato breakfast bowl, but there wasn't a lot of sweet potato and I hoped for it to be warm and roasted. I added balsamic to it because it seemed to be dry otherwise. Came on a Sat night and was jam packed! We were a party of 5 and were seated all the way in the back. It was super cute back and less loud, but very far from the bathroom. Our waiter was friendly and since it was busy that night apologized for it! They were playing 80s freestyle music and a bit loud but expected on a Saturday night! People were dancing by the bar, it was cute and a fun time! It took about an hour or more for our food though! Cocktails were good and had sushi, burrata and calamari for apps - all delicious and for our entrees I had the chicken parm bc I saw it was popular on yelp and was very tasty even if came an hour later! Another beautiful restaurant from this group and far better tasting than bijou was. We had a mini 'sprinkle' dinner for a friends upcoming baby and the staff was super accommodating to us, letting us decorate the table and bring in a cake for it. The food, presentation and service was all great. My one complaint-my friend ordered the stuffed shrimp scampi not knowing it was stuffed with crab as it is not specified on the menu and she is not a crab eater-that's a pretty big ingredient to not include on the menu but she did say the scampi sauce was excellent. I went with the salmon roll and quinoa salad and it was very tasty. I brought half the salad home for lunch the next day. Seated immediately and was able to obtain a booth, but was just for 2 of us. After we got bread/olive oil along came the waiter or the century. If you go, you must try to get the area that Kenny is handling. Very professional, personable, and pleasant. Took the time to tell us about the specials, didn't rush us, and was possibly one of the best members of the staff I have come across. We ordered the hummus dip which I thought was excellent. They give it to you with vegetables and pita. Although it was really great, I think they should have given more vegetables with it. The Halston on New Years Eve. We made 5:30 reservations to avoid the crowds and still get a celebratory meal. Home by 7: 30 after having a great meal and avoiding the amateur hour that NYE can be. The restaurant was not crowded and we were seated quickly. Cocktails, appetizer and great steaks all served professionally and gracefully. Expecting to pay a little extra since it is NYE and was pleasantly surprised to see the normal prices on the menu. Festive yet tastefully decorated and room between the tables. I cannot believe Scotto Brothers allow their restaurants to fill top shelf bottle with cheap alcohol! I went with 10 friends this past weekend. Half of us had Ketel One vodka & ALL of us were sick. I had one drink. I knew immediately I was not given Ketel One by the taste. The bartender was rude & gave me the nastiest looks when I ordered my martini. I'm sorry I asked for dry vermouth & olive juice in it. I guess that required extra work for him. Needless to say we will not be going back. read more
