Change is good! Had to get away for the weekend, so Santa Fe is the hotspot of choice. We came for the vegan burrito on a Yelp review, and they have no vegan options. They had a good vegetarian breakfast burrito, with eggs and cheese, but no salsa or hot sauce. This is a place that celebrates diversity and inclusion and is groovy. Not your mega superstore coffee place, so always #ShopLocal and support your community. We really enjoyed the green chili croissant. 4 stars

Really disappointing. I walked to the store to reduce my carbon footprint only to find Joe only servicing those in polluting fossil fuel filled vehicles. So I walked all the way home, got my car, returned, and the coffee was awful and EXPENSIVE!! Shameful!

I've been coming to this coffee shop since college. The espresso is robust and smooth, not as acidic as other coffee beans. My go-to is an americano, these are my favorite americanos in Santa Fe. This coffee shop offers legit breakfast burritos, pastries and bagels. Come here to study or just hang out. The ambiance is mellow relaxed environment, huge windows in the front provide an excellent natural lighting from those beautiful, blue Santa Fe skies.

Java joes is always busy with a line filling the parking lot. It's very convenient that they have a worker running to cars to take the order so it could be ready by the time we get to the window. Of course the drinks ALWAYS taste amazing being that I got a sugar free drink I was very happy with it! I would've given 5 stars but the workers were not too friendly

The best espresso drinks in Santa Fe, hands down. Friendly baristas who lean your drink and your name is also unique in Santa Fe.

The employees/baristas and customers were so friendly here! I'm from San Diego and was visiting Santa Fe for a week with my family. I tried to sample many of the coffee shops in town and this one stood out for its friendly service and warm atmosphere, plus quality coffee. I ordered the horchata latte and it was delicious! However, it didn't seem very strong coffee-wise (I believe my latte had two shots of espresso?), so I had to come back like an hour later to get a second one to satisfy my caffeine needs. The breakfast/brunch options looked amazing and were reasonably priced, but during our stay we did not end up eating here...we simply ran out of time! The space is within a shared work building right off the street, walkable from where we were staying and close enough to walk to the Plaza. I enjoyed walking here on a few mornings and getting the feel of what it might be like to be a local in town, while scanning the many clothing and other types of shops along the way. Overall I'd recommend this coffee shop for friendly vibes and yummy coffee drinks...but next time I'd add an extra shot to my latte.

I got the Nutella crepes with banana ($14.50) and a slice of guava cake ($7). The guava cake was the stand-out item! For one thing, it was a huge slice. It barely fit in the takeout container. It was a soft cake with a slight guava flavor in the cake itself, guava jam between the layers, and whipped cream for frosting (my favorite frosting). It wasn't too sweet, and the guava flavor was pronounced, but not overpowering. It was lovely! The crepe was quite chewy, a bit odd for a crepe in my opinion, but it had the perfect amount of Nutella and a generous amount of bananas. They also gave me a small cup with coffee & pecan tres leches cake for free. I immediately ate that in the car and it was excellent! Soft, moist tres leches with a hint of coffee and crunchy pecan & chocolate chips. The lady running the shop was lovely. English is not her first language, so she asked for patience, but I found her English more than adequate and her demanor very endearing. The place itself has nice decor on the walls. I imagine it would make for cute photos with friends. Overall, I'll probably ask this shop for a cake the next time I need one and will definitely visit again.

Rob tried a Cafe de Olla, a sort of sweet, spiced coffee served with cream which he said was wonderful. I had a plain latte which was also great. For our snacks, we split a mushroom and spinach crepe and a "lechera" crepe, which had some sort of sweetened milk to which I added my choice of fruit - strawberries. We loved them both and, a big plus, the lady who runs the shop is perfectly sweet and charming.

We tried a couple of different coffeeshops around Santa Fe, and this one was our favorite by far. I got the Murmuration of Starlings and it tasted just like the name! This place is on the smaller side and there's not a whole lot of seating, although they do have a few outdoor spots. I also care about the vibe of a place, so the breakdown is 5-star coffee drinks, but ho-hum 3-star service, hence the 4-star review instead of the 5 I would've loved to have reported here. The place is a few blocks from where we stayed and was easy to walk to and find, knowing I'd be looking for a sign with a few animals on it and it may not be obvious to some that this business is a coffee shop. I ordered the Crash of Rhinos, which fits their clever theme. The drink was just sweet enough and unique and flavorful. However, when we walked in, there was no barista or anyone at the front to greet us; we didn't mind waiting a minute or two for someone to show up since it was clearly open and there were a couple customers inside (and duh, we were on vacation and not in a hurry). When the nose-ringed hipster-looking girl came around the corner I was disappointed that we were not greeted with a smile or a good morning, or "sorry to keep you waiting" kind of phrase. She took our order, made our drinks, and did not say thank you (I did, and tipped her $2. Why, I'm not sure). That was that. Hubs ordered the spicy mocha drink and it was a bit much; he decided it would be better iced or he'd try a different selection next time. Yes, there was a next time. Different barista, same kind of treatment. Still tipped just because I was a barista for many years and know this really helps supplement a worker's salary and encourage good communication with customers. This time I ordered the Murmuration of Starlings latte, which has rosemary, thyme, and cardamom notes. It was delicious but similar to the Crash of Rhinos drink. The third time we visited we entered through the Chocolate and Cashmere shop next door. I found it funny that the nose ring barista girl happened to be in that shop talking to the girl who worked there, but when we walked in, she quickly exited back to the coffee shop to sit with the other barista at a table in the coffee shop. The chocolate shop girl was so sweet and we even visited their location in the Plaza a day later and she was just as nice, even though that day we did not make a purchase. Overall I do recommend Crash Murder Business for their coffee drinks, but don't expect friendly service. (If you're looking for that, go to Iconik up the street!) Just because you work at a coffee shop and you have a cool haircut does not make you above others. Especially when small businesses work to please their customers and should encourage their return. Kind of a shame...but I would still go back for the coffee if I were ever in town again.

The café has a cool, modern vibe with plenty of indoor seating as well as a nice outdoor patio. They were very busy on a Saturday morning. The counter staff was very matter-of-fact. Not rude, but not especially warm or welcoming either. Honestly, I got the impression she was just under a lot of stress. We also asked another staff member if we could use one of the patio umbrellas (they were all closed for some reason), and he was prompt and friendly, which we appreciated. We ordered a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese, a meat-filled empanada, a honey latte, and a cold brew. The cold brew was a little too dark for my taste, though coffee preferences are definitely subjective. Interestingly, there's a place in Albuquerque that has an almost identical flavor profile. The toasted everything bagel was very good, but it didn't come with quite enough cream cheese. The single cream cheese packet also felt a bit lackluster presentation-wise. That said, when we asked for more, the response was friendly and accommodating. The honey latte had beautiful latte art and great flavor, definitely a highlight. The empanada, filled with ground beef, green chile, and piñon, was a bit over-toasted, but the filling itself was flavorful, even if somewhat sparse. Overall, I think 35 North has a lot going for it and could easily elevate the experience with a few small improvements to consistency and customer service.
