Terrible! The first time I came here I had a great experience. This is why I'll never come back. I ordered my steak med./ rare. I received it well done. My GF's also well done. When I let the server know he didn't ask if he could do anything for me. He took this information to the cowardly manager who sent him back to offer us a complementary dessert. We ate the sides and as much of the shoe leather as our jaws could chew. They did not refire the order or even offer. The manager didn't even stop by. He hid in a corner out of sight of our table. The service is not good at all. Our server was not attentive to our table. He brought us a bottle of wine already opened and did not let us try the wine first. The churrasco was chewy, the filet mignon was rare when we clearly asked for it to be medium. The vegetables were not cooked. Overall really bad service and experience. Went to 354 steakhouse based or a referral and reviews. First it referred to me as very good Cuban restaurant. Compared to a very well known Cuban restaurant Las Palmas located in West New York NJ. I did further research and found out it was owned by Central Latino also very well established Cuban restaurant in WNY. So I was very excited to experience 354 steakhouse with my family. We arrived early on a Friday approx. 5 pm. The restaurant looks very nice on the outside even better in the inside. A very steakhouse feel very clean. There's a good size bar as soon as you walk in on the left. Not many people sitting at the bar at that time. But definitely seemed like a good bar to have a drink in. We were sat down promptly as there were only two tables being served at the time. Waitress came took our drinks we ordered soft drinks. While we looked over the extensive menu. There was a lot of great appealing choices to order from. I was struck by some of the choices being they weren't Cuban dishes. But nonetheless they seemed delicious. Soft drinks arrived along with some bread. (The soft drinks were near their Flat stage minimal fizz if any on 2 different types of drinks). We asked our server about some of the options on the menu. He wasn't very knowledgeable or as knowledgeable as one would expect from a server about the dishes being offered. So we opted to order something on the safer side. Churrasco and breaded steak rice beans plantain mixed Avocado salad the typical Cuban sides. After awhile of waiting we needed our drinks refreshed. It took awhile to get the staffs attention as they were all huddled by the cash register along with the older lady that sat us. (Restaurant still semi empty) finally got their attention after calling and raising our hands to signal for service. They replenished our drinks and back to the huddle, club house or Charging station. Finally the food arrived. Presentation was good and appealing. Churrasco: was smaller than other places of lesser classification. Texture was very rubbery and bland taste in it self. The attempt to hide it by putting garlic on top its just that....an attempt. (No where in the vicinity of Las Palmas or Noches de Colombia for that matter. Breaded steak is hard to go anywhere and find a place that could hit it out the park. There are some but it's not a popular dish. It's was decent still no flavor unless one puts extra lemon and salt on it. I've had better... Avocado I asked for the mixed salad with Avocado. Just got very ripe Avocado. Then had to go through all the attention getting charade to get oil and vinegar. All other sides were good. Service was way below average. It seems this place gets a lot of regular clients so they all have a relationship with the staff (which is awesome) for those clients. But for new comers it's a sour experience. Staff should be more attentive to service and detail as well as more knowledgeable of the menu. We will toss it up to a bad experience. I should start by saying I don't eat meat, but 354 Steakhouse is a great addition to the neighborhood. I don't go often (since I don't eat meat), but my friends who do eat meat love their steak. I first visited for Sunday Brunch shortly after they opened. The brunch was reasonably priced, lots of things a vegetarian could eat, and best of all the owners spent some time at our table letting us know their history at JD's Steak Pit. This may be the first restaurant that they own, but they are veterans in the Steakhouse world. I've gone with several friends who do eat meat, and one of them has gone back multiple times. He's picky about steak, so that's a high compliment. If you don't eat meat like me, there are still lots of good choices, which is sort of atypical of steak houses. Usually I can't find anything except to order a couple sides or a salad. Of course they do have fish if you are a pescatarian, but they also have a hot vegetarian plate and lots of salads you can modify to be vegetarian. We thought the food would make up for the hostility from all the staff but it was beyond mid. Orders were messed up, and several made, as well as my chicken being pink upon arrival and 200% flavorless. I didn't want to tip but i did because i understand what it's like to work in the service industry. However i've had far better experiences at places like even applebees and chilis. (I think it was the same your lady who answered the phone) The food was PLENTIFUL, the ribs fell off the bone, the flavor profile was spot on and delicious. My wife who is still eating as I'm writing this hasn't been this quiet since she met my mother for the first time 26 years ago. All I'm hearing is her sucking the bone and linking her fingers. There is a full-bar and some TV's when you first walk in and a good divider from the bar area to the dining room. I had clams/mussels for my appetizer and the broth had a lot of flavor to it. I would rate it a solid 4 and for my main course I had the Cowboy Ribeye Steak (on the bone). The hard part for some restaurants when you order a rare steak is making sure the meat near the bone actually cooks. Unfortunately there were a few spots on the steak that were raw and not rare. The part of the steak that was cooked well was delicious and the waiter brought out some special roasted spicy pepper sauce from the back that wasn't on the menu (VERY GOOD). I would come back here and get my steak medium rare to be on the safe side and would recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for good steak for a mediocre price. Chicken and sausage paella was HUGE but the mussels tasted really old, and so did the clams. The chicken was not bad but still a bit dry. Rice was plain and honestly a little over salted. Sausage was ok but nothing to be excited about. We also got a side order of plantains which were pretty good. I don't even like sweet plantains so I was surprised. I have been here a few times and never been disappointed. I have passed by it many times and never thought to walk in. One night I did and WOW. The service was excellent each time I was there. Both times I was there I got the Delmonico steak. It was cooked perfectly both times. I found myself trying to eat the scraps off the bone I liked it so much. The sides were very good as well. This restaurant offers the best of two cuisines....American Steakhouse and Cuban Specialties. My babyback ribs fell off the bone as I picked them up and were flavored to perfection. My wife's steak was perfectly grilled to her specifications. The sides were great and we topped it off with flan for dessert. The prices are also reasonable for such great food. I love the idea of having a steakhouse menu and a Cuban menu. There is something for everyone on the menu at every price point. I think the steaks are very good, especially for their price. This isn't a steakhouse to be compared to Peter Lugers or Old Homestead; but it's a very good local steakhouse with good cuts of meat, fresh seafood and a menu full of flavor. I heard the owner of this restaurant was the previous head chef at JDs in Fort Lee. Two things I loved at JD's were the penne a la vodka and the ribs. Those two dishes shine at 354 as well.
