Went to dinner this evening with friends and I have to say that I was pleasantly delighted. Great Space, covid friendly, friendly staff and tasty food. Our party ordered lomo saltado, two fish dishes, tallarines saltando and bistec a lo pobre. I have to say that being 1/2 Peruvian myself I am quite picky with Peruvian food. Although not like NY Peruvian places, This place did not disappoint. The fried yuca was absolutely delicious. The fried fish was delicious. The lomo saltado was well seasoned, juicy and abundant. The tallarines saltado were good as well. The ceviche mixto had a great taste and presentation. The fish pretty much melted in our mouths.

Came in on a Friday evening around dinner time with family. We had a group of 8, but had no problems getting seated. There is mainly metered street parking, but you might get lucky with residential parking if you're willing to drive around and wait for a bit. For the appetizer, we ordered the Chicharron de Calamares for the table. I would say this dish is large enough for 4 people to share. Calamari tasted a bit too starchy but the yucca fries were great. For the main meal, I ordered the Lomo Saltado Mixto. The sauce was very flavorful and was easily the best part of the dish. You can mix it with the meat or rice. The dish is meant to be family style so there was plenty to take home. Very friendly staff and it's BYOB. Worth a try if you're in the area!

My lord the Anticuchos here with the red salsa is the best I ever had. It comes with corn and sliced potatoes. I also order asado de res(beef) it comes with white rice beans and criolla salad. If you're like spicy ask them to bring the red salsa and splash a little over the plate. Bring some beers and enjoy the company here at La Casa Del Chef

A good recommendation to sip along with a tremendous meal. One note: the medium rare was closer to black and blue, and the medium was closer to medium rare. I was driving home and this place was closest to the one I usually frequent. When I came to pick up the food, I was handed a check with a charge that horrified me. Not only am I paying credit card charges..now, but the now added a $2 packing fee. I was shocked, are we now supposed to bring our own containers and maybe pack the food ourselves???? This was a take out order, directly through the restaurant, no third parties and I came to pick it up myself. The order was for over $120 and to be charged a packing fee is absurd. Not sure what management was thinking, but needless to say, NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY. ...WILL NOT BE ORDERING AGAIN

Came here on my birthday as my first dine-in since covid-19 with my mom and her friend and couldn't be happier yet again. Carla the bartender( she's there during the day usually) was awesome as always and my mom and her friend loved her. Drinks were well done and our food was amazing so props to the chef. We had the mussels with white wine sauce and wings and they were delicious. Pro tip: when you eat the mussels loosen the mussel within the shell spit the shell and dip the mussel and halved shell into the sauce and slurp it in one gulp. You'll thank me later. We all had the wings and they were terrific. Remember half price wings on Wednesday after 6pm. Happy hour was great as well we all had the apple martini which Carla made them nicely balanced not too sweet or weak. Happy hour is 4-7 for $6 apple martinis, cosmos and margaritas. Oh and a juke box. They use to have before covid, comedy open mic nights and karaoke but not sure if they still do but do call and ask. During the day it's mostly locals but at night it livens up with a younger crowd during the weekend. Also Bruna the waitress who came in later around 6 was very sweet as well. Great new hire Nikki. Nikki I'm glad you made it through the pandemic and only hope the best for this place because they do it right from drinks to food and service. You're welcome Yelp and remember be nice to each other and leave a like if this helps.

Tonight, some of us are returning to Segovia Mesón after a hiatus of 4 years. The reservation was easily made by calling the restaurant. Upon arrival inside, with the warm and inviting earth tones making a very relaxed vibe, we were greeted by the host and got a table in one of the three rooms. The menu offers an appealing array of tapas, paellas, and traditional Spanish dishes bursting with authentic flavors. As appetizers, we decided on a dozen East Coast Oysters and Ecargots Segovia. Our main entree consisted of Scallops and Shrimp, Stuffed Shrimp, Short Ribs, Whole Baked Branzino, and Veal Castellana unfortunately with no substitution. Rice, Broccoli and Potato Chips accompanied our meal to be shared by everyone. Complimentary European-style rolls with butter started our meal. Each bite was a testament to the chef's dedication to quality and craftsmanship. However, the shrimps were not only overcooked but also tasteless. The scallop and jumbo shrimp dish looked more like an appetizer than a main. The service was courteous and attentive; our server was Silvano, who was friendly. The price was a bit steep. Be warned: come with an empty stomach, which we continue to recommend.

A Concerned Review of Pollos Mario…read more For years, my spouse and I have been loyal customers of Pollos Mario in Hackensack, NJ. We have enjoyed many meals here, from breakfast to lunch and dinner, supporting this establishment through economic ups and downs, a pandemic, and an influx of competition on Main Street. As one of the original Colombian restaurants in Hackensack, we have always hoped for the best for them, but recent experiences have left us concerned. While the food remains fresh and flavorful, Pollos Mario is no longer the only player in the game. With eight Colombian restaurants now within walking distance, the landscape has changed significantly. Recently, we found ourselves paying $32 for breakfast, which feels exorbitant. Reflecting on our past visits, it's evident that the portion sizes have shrunk considerably since pre-pandemic times. The arepa con queso, which used to cover the plate, now barely touches the edges. Both my spouse and I ordered Huevos Revueltos, priced at $13.90 each, which included scrambled eggs, a homemade potato, and corn cake with cheese. My spouse enjoyed a hot chocolate or coffee with their meal, while I was charged separately for my Aguapanela con Limón, a sugarcane lime drink that, upon receiving the bill, we discovered was not included with the breakfast and added an unexpected $5 charge for a tiny glass. This feels disproportionate for what is essentially a simple beverage. I understand that economic uncertainty is impacting many businesses, and restaurants need to find ways to stay afloat. However, the experience cannot come at the cost of customer satisfaction. It's disheartening that we now visit Pollos Mario only once or twice a month, down from two or three times a week. Price increases, smaller portions, and additional charges are not conducive to fostering loyalty among customers. I hope the owners take this feedback into consideration. We all want to see Pollos Mario thrive, but it's important to create an enjoyable experience without pricing customers out. Our experience had a few hiccups. I came with my family and mentioned that we'd seen the restaurant trending on social media and were excited to give it a try. Unfortunately, my server didn't enter my order correctly. I ordered the skirt steak with two sides, but only the side order arrived to our table. When I asked about the steak, she said she didn't have it on the order and quickly put it in. When the steak arrived, it came out very quickly. I had ordered it medium, but while the outside looked cooked, the inside was still very rare and cold. It was also very chewy and could have used more seasoning. My father-in-law ordered the chaufa, but it wasn't mixed very well, with most of the sauce sitting at the bottom and most of the rice was white, he didn't even noticed until he ate his way to the bottom and noticed. Another pasta dish we ordered was listed as having fettuccine, and the photo showed fettuccine noodles, but it was served with spaghetti instead. Although we were disappointed with the food and the ordering mistake, the restaurant itself was clean and inviting. I hope this was just an off day, as I'd love to see the food live up to the beautiful atmosphere.
