Took my family of four (2 adults, 3 year old and 8 year old) for breakfast here this past Saturday. They have updated the building and I'm not going to lie it looks nice. We've been meaning to try it since it reopened and we finally got around to it. We ordered 2 kids chocolate chip pancakes, a Belgian waffle, and an order of pancakes. We also got 3 sides of sausage, a side of hash browns, 2 coffees and 2 orange juices. Pretty standard diner order, which we order everytime we go to any diner, so i didnt even think to look at the prices of sides and drinks. Food was OK, not great but not terrible. Chocolate chip pancakes didn't actually have chocolate chips in them, rather they poured chips over them (kind of lazy in my opinion). And then the bill came, and to my dismay it was 98 dollars for breakfast. I literally gasped when I saw the bill. They charge 8 dollars for a glass of orange juice, 3 dollars for a cup of coffee, and 6 dollars for a side of sausage that comprises of 2 little links. So 2 cups of orange juice, 2 coffees, 3 sides of sausage (6 links in total) cost me 40 dollars, just for sides and drinks. In what world do they think they charge these prices?? What an absolute joke. On top of being super pricey, they charge people more for using a card as opposed to cash. I've uploaded a picture of our receipt so everyone can see how they are completely ripping people off. WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN! COMPLETE RIP OFF! read more

Forget that it looks like a diner when you pull in (it used to be), now it is a fantastic restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. The first visit I had tacos, which were delicious, the meat was so tender. My second time there I had chicken pot pie special. Chicken, fresh peas and fresh vegetables, (HAND CUT) in a light, homemade gravy with a spectacular puff pastry. The owner is a chef who knows what he's doing. For a self proclaimed "chef inspired" restaurant the food is below average to average and pricey. Recently ordered the Chick From Parma sandwich described as a Parmesan Crusted Chicken Breast, Sunday's Gravy, Mozzarella on an Italian Roll. What I got was an obviously frozen breaded chicken patty-like you used to get in high school cafeteria topped with Ragu sauce along with a side of old, cold french fries. Not happy! I ordered a turkey dinner and my husband had chicken. We asked the server for brown gravy which she brought. When we got the bill, the prices were different than those listed. The Mexacali Tacos are amazing. I'm not a fan of blackened shrimp, so they did a simple grilled shrimp for me. We have been here several times and are never disappointed. This is a great place for casual dining. The quality of the food is far above the typical diner, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. read more

First time at this establishment and although concerned as reviews were good but not great, we figured why not. This diner exceeds expectations!! Better than typical menu with traditional and special offerings. We ordered hot chix sandwich and turkey dinner and both were fresh and tasty. While it's hard to give diner fare a 5-star I offer a solid 4-star for food with a +1-star for great service!! Definitely returning to try different offerings. read more

We had a wonderful lunch here today. We were able to BYOB and enjoyed the food and service very much. Juan is a very friendly and pleasant server. We had the triple play lunch which included soup, salad, 1/2 sandwich and beverage for a reasonable price. The crab cakes were the best I've had anywhere with a crispy yet light breading and delicious sauce. The Asian salad with crispy wontons was delicious as well. I had been here before for lunch with a friend, decided to come back again for dinner. Ordered the same sandwich I had previously had, this time it was so greasy I had to wipe it off with my napkin! But my companion got a far worse experience, he ordered the turkey triple decker. When it came out, sadly completely alone on the plate, apparently it comes with nothing, as opposed to mine which came with either fries or a salad?! Not even a pickle? Well it was also bone dry! Just dry toast no mayo & worst of all NO bacon!!!! Even though upon checking when we got home, it clearly states that BACON is on the sandwich, Without doubt it was the worst sandwich he had ever purchased. For us, it was a one & done. Diner level at best ., at least on this night i would assume chef/owner not present. App Mac bites from box . Burgers overcooked to well when asked for med/rare . Accompaniments that were supposed be on specialty burger were missing. Sautéed onions and bacon jam not present. I had high hopes for this place so I'm sad about it . They did bring the onions when asked by replacing sliders with the now hockey puck overcooked burger. Was hoping more love went into this place . Owner needs a wake up call for this to be successful. Meh. Lobster Mac and cheese at $18 was velveeta shells with freezer burned minuscule lobster and shrimp that wasn't even part of the description. Gross. Shrimp tacos - with cold shrimp and a rice bowl that was also lacking flavor. Overall not impressed. If you're going to show French laundry and central cookbooks at the register - it makes it even more contradictory to what you're getting. read more

I will say our service was great. Our waitress was so nice. The food was what you would expect for a diner, it was good but not amazing. For 3 meals, 2 cups of coffee, and 3 orange juices we spent well over $100 with tip. I find that to be absolutely absurd for breakfast. If you're looking for overpriced diner food this place is it. We enjoyed our breakfast at this Diner happy to see the improvements made to this restaurant. The omelet I had was shrimp beef and cheese delicious. The waitress was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was clean the artwork on the wall was something we could relate to spending lots time on the bay. Will be looking forward to going back for dinner read more

Me and my family wanted to get breakfast this morning and we were excited because the food is great. We were very disappointed. The service was horrible. Our waitress was miserable and awkward and didn't even introduce herself. My sister asked for an iced macchiato and the waitress looked panicked like it wasn't on the menu. When the rest of us got our drinks, she threw them at the table. Then our food came out before the iced macchiato did. The food was great and everything we expected, when the macchiato came it was hot and not a macchiato. They were rude and when we gave her the undeserved tip she didn't say thank you, just an awkward smile. read more

Food is delicious but this particular day we showed up at 7:30 and the sign on the building said they were open until 9 pm. No one was in the restaurant except workers.
