I just ordered boudin balls and fish tacos. The boudin balls were good but the fish tacos were AMAZING! I will definitely be going back!

I placed my order and grabbed a 10lb bag of ice for $2 for my cooler in the car. The menu selections and sides were plentiful. I opted for the fish and shrimp combination plate with greens and black eyed peas. The dining room was clean and I noticed that it is available for private parties. One of the staff also mentioned that they host events like paint and sip and have a Thanksgiving buffet planned. They also have take out and delivery options. The food arrived hot and fresh. The shrimp was battered well and seasoned to perfection. The fish was a large portion and seasoning well. It was just a little salty, but that's a "me thing" because I don't use salt for health reasons so I notice it when I dine out. Again, the fish was seasoned well, just a bit salty for my personal taste. It will probably be fine for someone else. The price point was mid range. My total bill was $28.15 for the combination plate, ice, a bottle of water, and gratuity. Great restaurant with great staff. I'd definitely frequent often if I lived closer.

When I walked in I stated hello to the…read moreserver, waiting for a response from her and after a few awkward seconds of looking at me she finally stated, how many? Really, that was my welcome? The restaurant had a few customers for the early Saturday morning. I was sat at a table that was very wobbly. The server had to notice because she moved the table around before seating me. Really, all these empty tables and you sit me at the wobbly one. I ordered a hot tea and ice water. The water for the tea tasted like it came from the coffee pot. Restaurants need to learn not to use the same pot for hot water that is used for coffee. I get bad indigestion if I drink any amount of coffee. So much so I now state I am allergic to coffee. So restaurants, please stop mixing the pots without doing a deep cleaning. I also ordered "The Southerner". It has 2 sausage patties, 2 eggs over medium served on a split biscuit, covered with sausage gravy and a side of grits. I requested the gravy to be on the side. The eggs were cooked great, sausage patties also great. The biscuit they were on had an odd taste. Didn't taste like the biscuits were baked, maybe fried? That would probably explain the biscuit being tough. The sausage gravy was not good. The gravy was thin/runny with cut up pieces of the sausage patties, but it lacked the sausage flavor. The grits were also very soupy. I had pushed my full cup of hot tea to the edge of the table, the server either didn't notice or just didn't care. I was only asked once if I was needing anything else, and since she didn't ask about my full cup of tea, I wasn't going to say anything. When she came over to the table she asked if I needed anything, I stated No, I am done. She asked if I wanted my check, and I paid my tab. They do advertise Bloody Mary's and other breakfast cocktails but I didn't have any of those. The location is good, area outside for the kids to run and play. Seating outside also to watch the kids. I think I would only return to this place if I am invited out to brunch with my group of friends. Otherwise, would be a long while before I return, being hopeful things have improved.

I particularly enjoyed the extra crispy breading, and the flavor was very good, overall! The two dishes are obviously very different, but they are both very good! The service is always fast and friendly, and I like the adults-only atmosphere.

I've seen servers vape directly on customers food. touching food without washed hands, over all just gross. everyone here thinks everything is done by fairies, so you'll be lucky if the mats your drinks are made on or your cup is sat down on isn't moldy, you better hope whoever worked last night cared enough to wipe something down. the place is crawling with bugs but they will say it's the whole building besides their restaurant that has bugs okay sure, they can't keep food fresh we have to pick around the moldy fruit and pry their is some okay fruit in their, on the same note with the fruit they will reuse the same container for the expo line for DAYS to the point where the bottom layer of fruit is dried out, withered, or in some cases moldy and the top layer looks fine so you wouldn't notice. Same with sauces if I had a nickel for every time, I've opened a sauce container and it has mold on the Lid mold that has definitely been there for more than one day still being used? the food is good if you forget all that besides that, dry rub wings never have enough dry rub, don't get the queso it's not worth the risk, don't get the pretzel. It's usually hard. don't eat the lettuce or any veggies to be honest, I've crazier stories, but I'm scared if I save them, I will be identified. Just trust me the only thing almost this place is their drinks.

The place was packed and there was a line of people waiting - I knew that was a good sign! Our server SAL was top notch, explained everything on the menu that I drilled him about - really painted a picture of what the items was all about, helped me with making a selection! Give that kid a Gold Star - he is my server for life at Red OAK. He took care of us with a smile and quick service, what a shining star they got when they hired him! Now for the food - mercy is all I can say - the biscuits were out of this world - flaky, fluffy and fabulous! I got the Breakfast special and everything on the plate was perfect - the bacon was nice and crisp, hash browns were golden and egg really over easy - cooked to perfection. THE Pancakes - eyes rolling back in head - the biggest, fluffy golden brown things you have every seen and the syrup came in a glass carafe that warm syrup was an extra special touch. The coffee was their own brand and the flavors were Pecan and Cinnamon, very smooth, and very hot and refilled often. Having worked in restaurants before, I'm a bit more sensitive towards restaurant workers needing to break down, clean up, close down, and go home.
